robin.jones
I have to admit this thead is slightly about playing devils adovcate. But how important to people think Timmy is to our side. For me he not creative and not really a great tackler but what he does give (Goals obviously) is an air of arrogance and spirit that pushes the team to win. A bit like savage at blackburn. For this I really think he would thrive at being the club captain. And I hate hearing nevilles winey voice being the spokesmen for the team
TrueBlueAussie
Yeah i can tell we need him back in the team asap captain hmm i dont no i think Carsley or Arteta would be better thats my opinion
Romey 1878
I'd love Cahill to be captain, I think he'd do a brilliant job. And I think he is very important to our team. With the way we play football our strikers do struggle to score as many as they should, so his goals are vital IMO.

StevO
cahill is massive! his threat alone is a major asset by getting in the defenders mind. i cant wait to see him back in a blue shirt, his attitude is, and always has been, spot on! robin.jones
Tim has the attitude to be a captain and cars would spend more time on the bench. Arteta is not a captain
19massi88
i think Tim will be a good capitain, he's got the right spirit to do that. I hope also he recovers fast from his injury...we need him !

Arteta is not a captain im not so sure, he may not be the biggest talker on the pitch. but he has more influence than anyone else
adamsmith69
I would love to see cahill as captain, as has been said in this thread his attitude is bang on. but its not going to happen. back to the real point, apart from arteta i think he our second most important player
CraccerC
dunno, in a 4-5-1 very important, in a 4-4-2...not so convinced he fits in....but he'll always give 100% which is good
Blue4Ever
Ive always said he should be captain but if we get this creative player we need then where will he fit in? when we play 451 he's of of the best players to play behind the striker but he's never impressed me in a 442. If we get that Appiah everyone hopes for then maybe try him in this... ----------------Howard---------------- Jagielka---Yobo----Lescott----Baines ----------------Appiah------------------ ----Arteta-----Cahill----Pienaar/?----- -----------Yakubu-----A.J-------------- Edited October 4, 2007 by Blue4Ever

Been saying since August about Appiah. That is basically my 1st choice 11 at the mo. Would do well with that team. A lot of creativity and passion (barring maybe Yak, but he should contribute plenty of goals, we hope!!!). Makes up for a lot IMO. Without Appiah, at the moment, would have Neville RB and Jags sitting hwere you have Appiah.

But it doesnt matter what anyone thinks except for Davey because Neville's first on the teamsheet for some reason <_< Edited October 4, 2007 by Blue4Ever
