  1. Some youth programs are just more succesfull than others. When you compare it to Club Bruges, who is a major club in Belgium, their youth academy hardly represents anything in terms of players brought forth. I don't really know a lot about how these academies work, you might want to ask Steve about it. But my guess is that there's only 2 or 3 teams in the belgian highest division from the french speaking half of Belgium. One of them turns out to be one of the "big 3" in Belgium: Standard. Maybe that way it could be a reason for half of the country's promising youth to come to Standard. They brought forth Mirallas, Chadli, Fellaini, Witsel, Van Buyten, Benteke and a few more of those. Anderlecht on the other hand seems to attract a lot of Dutch speaking talents like the Lukakus and Dennis Praet... But I repeat, it's just a guess, ask a second opinion.
  2. Mirallas

    Couple of laughs.

What is green and turns red when you step on it? A frog.
  3. I rate neither of them really capable of playing for the best EPL teams. I know Arsenal has been chasing Biglia for quite a while, but he doesn't even always perform up to Anderlechts level. When he does though, he's really a hidden force behind the team. But Arsenal? He's too slow to begin with. So much to my surprise, he has been called up for the Argentine national team once or twice. He even got to be captain. I thought that was priceless Agüero, Di Maria, Messi, Lavezzi, ... and Biglia
  4. There's a mad transfer saga going on about Witsel. Manchester United, Real Madrid, Ac Milan, apparently they all want him. Transfer fees of 35 million pounds have been named, but honestly, I don't think he's worth all that. He's a very decent midfielder, but he is not better than Fellaini.
  5. Pardon. I'm a big admirer of this football player. I think he is capable of replacing Silva at Man City.
  6. That is true, but I refrained from rooting for for instance Arsenal, cause I think their style is chaotic, they keep injuring their own players and the fans are the worst idiots I had the misfortune of having conversations with. On the other hand, I started feeling sympathy for Spurs every now and then last season and Fulham got a bit dull after a while.
  7. He's just enthusiastic by the amount of media attention Everton's victory gets, as do all of us. I'm glad to see the newspapers hailing EFC and Fella.
  8. Kagawa? You can say he did this and that, but if United fans and Fergie claim him to be their answer to Eden Hazard, they have another thing coming. Many tend to laugh at EH17, but he became MOTM, setting up both goals for Chelsea against Wigan. Kagawa was pretty invisible. IMO Rooney was even a bit more dangerous.
  9. Meanwhile on Manchester City forums:
  10. hah lol if they make that happen, then Everton will probably be number 1 in the standings after newcastle
  11. I wouldn't agree with that last statement at all.
  12. 1 man, 1 goal, 1 huge haircut, 1 eyebrow and 1 hundred percent of the votes.
  13. Mirallas doesn't have the tendancy to fall back too much. He's not an attacking midfielder. He can't be compared to for instance Eden Hazard. KM is a fullblooded forward. Best as a central striker, or in a striking pair. From my experience, you won't find him defending, but he can lay pressure on the opponents midfield though. Even if you have 3 forwards and Mirallas is on the wing, he won't fall back all the way. (I was comparing Adam Johnson to Kevin Mirallas in a winger forward position)
  14. IMO City should keep Johnson as a backup/competitor for Silva, cause I think he's equally good (!) . Everytime he steps on the pitch he makes a massive impact, he's unstoppable and scores easily. I have no idea why someone like Milner is ahead of AJ in the Man City pecking order. AJ is my favourite player in the whole premier league. I don't rate EFC financially capable of such a move. He's a whole level better than Mirallas though.
  15. Fellaini. But Jagielka and Hibbert were superb as well
  16. Don't diss City. I'm A Citizen. And a Chelsea fan, an Everton fan, a Fulham fan and a Sunderland fan. Diss United. Funny how Manures say that Man City buy the title and are therefore gloryhunters. Man Utd happens to have way more titles, so far for the gloryhunter story. Moreover THEY are now trying to buy the title back
  17. He's not that big in Belgium. He's bigger in Greece. And don't talk about comparisons to Tintin, that man is a national monument.
  18. See... told you all so from the beginning. This transfer is happening.
  19. Yea but that's fiction. In real life Belgians are people like: Kompany, Vermaelen, Fellaini, Dembele, De Bruyne, Hazard and Lukaku.
  20. Heck he's Belgian, he'll be good. Trust me.
