  1. I'm very sceptical about his current level of ability, but part of me thinks it'd be a bit of match made in heaven if he was to come back in one of the next two transfer windows. He'd potentially solve some of the biggest issues in our squad, providing some creativity from a central position and giving Barkley a great mentor to learn from. He'd also be a good back-up for Rom up front.

  2. Yes that's fine but we need reinforcements now to make an impact, im all for the oddball signings but we need solid ones too that we can rely on. For every Mahrez there's a hundred straqs.

I think for creativity in midfield we need someone to provide now, but I wouldn't mind seeing a younger striker come into the squad, considering they're only likely to be a back up for Rom.

From what I hear Gabbiadini is a left footer that can also play behind the striker, or on the right, so he'd give the squad a few different options.

  3. The bbc's need to end every stat post they make with 1 word.

    Example...

1 - Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain has scored and assisted a goal in the same Champions League game for the first time. Busy.

Don't know why but it aggravates me

I think that's an opta stats thing. It is pretty irritating though.

  4. Why dont we do that instead then? If you can get a whole starting XI for under 40m euro?

It's an incomparable situation. The Portugese league has much looser regulations regarding transfers for non-Euro players. Brazil and Argentina is bursting at the seems with young, cheap, unproven talent, but English leagues are effectively only able to transfer in the proven ones (e.g. players from these countries making a certain percentage of appearances for the national team, or if their transfer cost is over £10 mil I believe?). Porto and Benfica get a lot of their talent on the cheap this way.

Their league also allowing third party ownership of players is another huge difference over the PL. Leads to a lot of teams only needing to pay, say half the amount when bringing in their players.

  5. Can see Bolasie starting this weekend as It will be a physical game. Think he will be a starter from now on.

Lennon and Geri on from the bench in the last 30 is a good option to have.

Stoke aren't that physical anymore. Reckon we'll just start with the same team we had after 35 mins against West Brom, although there's a good chance of Williams slotting in for Mori.

  6. Hart is a perfect example of exactly what is wrong with the English press: build him up and ignore his mistakes when he's young and promising, give him a few years at the top, then suddenly expect perfection from him and tear him down for the same mistakes that were earlier ignored. He's a good keeper. Not absolutely brilliant, not shite and he always has been.

Also hasn't Guardiola openly admitted that it's not his keeping abilities that are the problem, but his ability with the ball at his feet? You can't exactly call Everton possession obsessed now that Martinez is gone.

  7. I really don't get the obsession with Butland. Not that I think he's a bad keeper it anything, I just don't see why so many fans want to chuck their knickers at him.

I'd assume his age. 23 for a keeper probably guarantees him another 10+ years at the top (barring injury). Personally I rate him above Forster too, but I have heard a lot of opinions on the contrary to that as well.

  8. Is Forster never going to happen? Do you Koeman wont touch Southampton?

Doubt he'll come. Southampton can name their price (if they even want to sell him) after he only just signed a new contract.

Also regarding Hart, I'm hearing whispers that his benching this weekend wasn't a one off and that he's not in Guardiola's plans. It'll be interesting to see if he starts in City's mid-week champions league play-off match.
