  1. or an investor could think now is the time to get a cheap deal with the board under public pressure.
  2. this is the situation people are scared of.
  3. this i am good at. but the club are on damage limitation right now, and when your backs are to the wall, which they are, they could do anything to try to help themselves. after them kicking people out with banners i wouldnt be surprised what they would do to protect themselves.
  4. im the same, brother in law (manc) telling me we need shut of him. redshite mates telling me "fucking hell what a mess" they arent even laughing at us, they are just in disbelief!
  5. what do i want from the club? i want the club to be stable and secure, not to worry that the banks could take us out of business at will. what do i want to happen? someone to buy out the major shareholders, clear the debt down to a managable ammount and let the profit the club could then make be spent on the playing squad. see if the kitbag deal could be renegotiated. maybe if sales go above a certain limit we then split the profits. everyone still has their guarantees and we both benefit from anything extra. come up with a long term property redevelopment plan, begin to buy back finch farm and development of GP. maybe let the club run debt free for five years then start to develop GP. who would i want? matt jarvis, permenant deal. daniel sturridge, loan deal (only as he wouldnt sign for us permenantly, but maybe after a good loan spell he could be convinved). andres guardado, liked him since we were first linked with him years back. why would i want them? jarvis would add quality on the wings, sturridge quality in the box. guardado, pace and directness for our attack. dream land - Bastien Schweinsteiger, he would really add to our midfield. never happen.
  6. it means his missus had fuck all to do with how he played at footy. he means bill has fuck all to do with how moyes makes the team perform.
  7. well they are adamant that he knew some of it would be made public, surely the club/BK wouldnt be so naive to think it wouldnt be recorded. but i wouldnt be surprised if they did but now deny it to try to discredit the interviewers. oh, and as we have no money to pay the debts im seriously worried that they are taking out more loans. but it could be a loan from robert earl, he does most of his trading from BVI doesnt he?
  8. patto if you think the distance from GP was the problem then you clearly have no idea of the reasons KEIOC were there in the first place. for me the road network, the false promises of money and the very small increase in possible corp revenue made it a non starter. before slagging KEIOC please read their policy and read the facts about the stadium proposal that was submitted to the government. KEIOC are also working with lots of people including the council on the football quarter plans.
  9. Derek Hatton tweeted last night that he wasnt happy with the BU after they released this.
  10. A massive 2 places below us!!!! We must be fantastic! Seriously though, Sunderland have still been trying to establish themselves as a solid premier league team, they have had to have a rotating door policy, they have just improved a little bit every year. I think they will slow down on the player turnover soon.
  11. I think bill has been completely honest and truthful here, the problem is the truth and honesty show a man who doesn't really understand what's happening around him. The truth is much scarier than the rumour. To quote a few good men "we want the truth!" "you can't handle the truth!" Right now, I can't handle it.
  12. you are right, he does have people to do the running and the finances, but if a figure that big was just sat in the middle when he looks at the accounts himself (which he must do by the way or it is just neglegence) he should make it his business to find out why costs have gone so high. oh, and the red shite are laughing at us even more than before, and they had hicks and gillete.
  13. only other comment i'll make (i cant stay away) was i didnt see the "son" thing as patronising. i know plenty of fellas my senior, family and friends parents, who drop "son" into a sentence. i dont take any offence to that.
  14. As we dont have much money we can not afford any risks. Donovan is a dead cert, ok he has a decent price tag, but we know he fits in with our style of play and gets on with our players and staff. If we got him i would hope we work out a way of selling shirts in the states to make to most of him.
  15. i was talking fantasy land. someone further up mentioned they would not swap beckford for sturridge and would rather have beckford i think, that was what i was aiming at.
  16. that will be three examples if you look at the other one further up.
  17. i think them telling him to come out and say these things is doing him a favour. he is getting a bad rep for not saying things, but he has said it to these guys so its not confidential. if he came out and told people some of the things he has said here it would at least get people off his back. im not his biggest fan, ive always admitted that, but i do like the guy. he just isnt doing himself any favours at the moment. as marco said, he should be finding out where £24m has gone.
  18. I'm not getting involved in the debate coz it's not worth it, but bill has seriously worried me from that. But I have just had an email from my brother in law (united fan) that had a link to the interview and "kenwright is a joke. You need to get rid."
  19. from a business point of view, £5m would be fantastic. from a footballing point of view, £8m would be enough to replace him i think, im not sure who with but i just dont see him being a great premier league striker. dont get me wrong ive been impressed with him, but his attitude often leaves a lot to be desired and he seems to be lacking in a first touch. Sturridge (like we could ever afford the transfer fee) has managed 17 goals in 60 games, most of them games with from the bench with city and chelsea. but im pretty sure he blew everyone away when he went to bolton last season and played regular. 8 goals in 11 games. id swap them in an instant.
  20. haha i was only kidding lads! im pretty sure it was just to keep baines fresh. i doubt moyes would play him as people are asking for him to get game time, he doesnt work like that. oh, and BK, you can not sell Baines!
  21. I agree we should not change how we play to accomodate it, but it would be nice if we had the capability.
  22. does playing Garbutt on monday night worry anybody? Baines leaves, bring him straight in, keep the money, pay the debts.
  23. the positions can not be irrelevant in a counter attack, your players position in the formation should also dictate their position on the pitch when a counter happens. to look back at the counter attack on the vid above, its from a corner. our full backs man the posts from a corner, if they were to get on the counter they have the furthest to travel. your forwards, wingers are normally slightly further out, unless you have a mountain of a forward back defending, so they are closer to the break. look at the best counters and you will see not many defenders, mostly forwards and wingers. from your theory of the quickest players leading the counter, what if yobo plays, do you want him to come bombing from a centre back positon to run past his whole team? if it was possible with the players we have then it would happen more, but it doesnt. hence why we were more effective when donovan came over here, arsenal away in his debut, him and pienaar pushed the counter from the wings.
  24. id have felli holding, rodwell and barkley in the middle, arteta on the right and billy on the left on saturday. with saha up front. if cahill plays, saha cant. cahill plays forward for a midfielder and saha plays deep for a striker, taking the same area up. felli, rodwell and barkley are the future, but id go all arsene wenger and just throw them in there week in week out.
