  1. And if we signed the players they signed we would be given out that they are all second rate players, well i think so anyway
  2. lads lets not forget he mentioned these loan deals and we haven't done too bad on recent loan deals, lets just hang back and wait and see in about 4 weeks time
  3. guys i think we will see Arteta playing on the wing anyway next year. Some of you will think im crazy but for some reason i think our major one signing will be to suit our 4-5-1 system, so another centre midfielder who maybe plays just off AJ. Juan Roman Requelme anyone?
  4. dont want routledge not good enough, dont know about richardson either but do want Baines. Would have a real solid backline if he signed jags yobo lescott baines young line-up with their best years ahead of them aswell, good going forward down the flanks aswell.
  5. just seen on the nsno site that richardson and kevin nolan arrived at bellefield this morning for medicals, can anybody confirm this
  6. yes indeed Pat our annual punch-up is back at croker, believe the players are happy about it too as the surface on croke park is alot nicer to be lying on when your knock out.
  7. something really strange about this , why on earth would they just pick out riqulme as the subject of test data something just doesn't add up here. Has to be something in it , maybe not that he has signed but maybe he is speaking with us or something.
  8. dont know about this fella, had a great season before last but was nowhere to be seen last year. No doubt he is talented but from what i heard is a bit of a asshole off the field, dont know if he would fit in.
  9. very good player, for some reason i dont believe the 2m price would have thought it would be more than that. And as stated natural left sided midfielder so lets get this one, better than richardson and alot of european experience.
  10. According to the BBC website, Everton could pay upto £8m for the attacking midfielder. Riquelme was a key player in the side that defeated Everton during their Champions League qualifier. The Argentine International currrently plays for Villarreal but after a fall out with their director and his mother falling ill he moved back to Boca Juniours where he played for seven seasons previously, on a new five month loan deal. International team mates such as Heinze, Tevez and Maschareno have apparently recommended Everton to Riquelme who wants to play in the Premier League. Taken from football-forever Tried looking for this on the BBC site as said above but cant find it. Still might only be rumour but just posting this for your information
  11. i have heard this rumour from 3 different people today one is my mate who is travelling south america he just sent me a text to tell me and apperently its in some of the papers there he had already helds talks with moyes, says he was really impressed with the supporters when we played villerael in the champions league games
  12. I'd love to see Everton play a few irish teams there but it's not likely as when we go to ireland we can't even fill the tolka wont happen due to rules for croke park, its called rule 42 again a very big thing in ireland. Rule 42 means no sport other than gaelic games can be played there, but there was a vote because the rugby union asked to use it for 3 year period when landsdowne road is being rebuilt so they voted for rugby and soccer internationals to be plated at croker for that time. Totally divided the country in two at the time of the vote including political parties but since i think everybody has come around to the idea to show croke park to the world is a good idea. Only this week they are talking about hosting a champions league final there in a few years so dare i say the only hope of seen everton play at croker is ...........
  13. the place is amazing it holds 82,000. I have been in many stadiums around and rate this as one of the best. Trust me its not wasted on gaelic or rugby in fact i no sport would be wasted at this place. For you's who dont know its also a huge part of irish history, well worth a visit the stadium tour is actually very good shows you everything what a proper stadium should be. If possible i advise you to get to a gaelic match (july would be perfect joe) when you visit it will change your mind on that view.
  14. lads i see aston villa are linked strongly to the likes of reo-coker and wesley sneijder from ajax. these i believe are the kind of players we should be interested in (although i know some of u's dont rate reo-coker) but the likes of sneijder is something we need to be looking at. He is 23 so young, but being an international since the age of 18, and is now one of the first names on the dutch national team now. Plays on the wing (which we badly need) and scored 18 goals last year. valued at 7 - 8m. And i can tell you he would improve our team. Are we not a better option for a player than aston villa? I hope i am all wrong about this and we are conducting some good business behide closed doors but still the names we are linked with are not exciting me at all. I know alot of you are going to point out last summer and the success we had getting championship players but i doubt we will find too many more joleon's and aj's.
  15. dont know if this is true but good young player, but he is good in the irish leagues where i dont think the standard is much at all, so its a case of alot of work for him to do before we see him even in the reserves
  16. I can see what you are trying to say but my issue is the kind of players we are being linked with, in my opinion there is nobody yet linked with us that you could say he will defo improve us as a team it seems we are just being linked with so called squad players. Koumas for me is another Mcfadden , nuggent i am unsure about yet, and so on. But what im trying to say is that i have yet to get excited about anybody we have being linked with, Distin i would have liked but again as a squad player Am i being to optimistic lads? is a top standard player or two out of our reach, is our wage structure affecting this.?
  17. Viduka is a fantastic striker in my opinion, he has a great record in the premiership with leeds and boro always got goals. From what i believe he is a good mate of tiny's so maybe a good word from him.
  18. if we beat pompey next week 8th place at least is as low as we can finish, just then have to hope some of the other teams slip up, but i think we will be going to chelsea on the final day looking to pick up something to try avoid the intertoto.
  19. not good enough for me , sorry to be brutal. As many people make the point his touch on the ball is quite good but then just get pushed off it. He really needs to work on his strength. He has always been a frustrating player , one game great ,next not in the game at all. Squad player only.
  20. my team would have to be Howard Hibbert Yobo Lescott Baines Arteta Cahill Barton Richardson AJ Nugent Bench turner, neville, vaughan, mcfadden, Anichebe Think the team might be a bit unrealistic (meaning we will have to sign 4 new players) which i dont think we will. Baines - I actually think wigan will get relageted so a bid for baines is a must, joining us would mean he wouldnt have to totally uproute his family to move Barton - imo, could be a great player, we need an aggressive midfielder who can also use the ball well, barton fits the bill perfectly for me. Richardson - some of you might disagree but he is actually a real left sided player, got great pace (which we need more off) and would give us a more balanced team. Still has some rough edges to his game but is a step up from anything we have at the moment. And it seems over the last 2/3 years we tend to sign one man u player so i'd take richardson. Nugent - think he would be good in the premiership, another hard worker which would mean hell for defenders coming up against himself and AJ. Dont think many centre back would enjoy playing against these two. Both strikers need a few chances to put one away but i dont think we have the money to buy a striker that bags 25 goals a season. But there would be more goals from midfield than we normally get.
  21. next weekend is huge guys have a look at the fixtures and you will see Spurs v Arsenal Bolton v Reading Villa v Pompey West Ham v Everton If we win next weekend we could be in a very strong position by next monday, bolton or reading will drop points spurs or arsenal will drop points and pompey have a very tough away game at villa which i think they will drop points aswell. And dare i say if arsenal lose we could be looking at top 4 provided we beat west ham. West ham have a tough game this wednesday against chelski aswell. here hoping
