  1. So he is a centre midfielder then?
  2. Sounds good but we need a centre midfielder really as opposed to another winger especially if we are in advanced talks to sign victor Moses as well. We have Mirallas, Deulofeu, pienaar, Oviedo all players who can play out wide with Moses a possibility of coming in. We are weak in the centre of midfield with only really Fellini, osman and Gibson having experience playing there we also have Barkley bit his best position is attacking midfield and we have pienaar who could play in the centre. Looks to me we need a playmaking centre midfielder or another defensive midfielder. But I'm liking Martinez thinking of going after fast quick wingers just feel if we get Moses on loan the rest of our money would be better spent on a centre midfielder
  3. How would that leave us with 10? That would leave us with like 14 million
  4. He rejected Porto to come to us in January before the deal collapsed I'm sure there was other top European clubs interested but he had his heart set on a move to the premier league and more importantly us but now we haven't followed up our previous interest and Norwich have moved to secure his signature can't knock a fella because he is moving to Norwich another premier league club.
  5. Yes I would count him as fairly reliable source seems to get most things everton wise spot on.
  6. @FourthOfficial_: Everton in advanced talks for Victor Moses, believe its a loan deal with a view to buy, could change however #efc #cfc
  7. @FourthOfficial_: Southampton to wrap up the signing of Wanyama today #saintsfc
  8. That's 4.3 million pound which is bloody cheap considerinb we agreed 8 million in January for him. That's cheap for a young 23 year old Dutch international. I understand our supposed interest in him declined since January and nothing has materialised on our part and thus so I wish him all the luck at Norwich just don't want him to score against us. He had his heart set on a move to us only for it to break down.
  9. Well his price has fallen from what we tried to pay for him in January according to media sources in Norwich he will join for 5 million not sure if that's pounds or euros though I think it may be euros
  10. The official everton retweeted Kone so I believe it is his official twitter
  11. I read somewhere that the fee is around 1 million pounds because of him being in the final year of his contract can't remember the source where I read it. Think it was a Spanish source
  12. R.I.P Dave Hickson a great ambassador of all the clubs on merseyside, a terrific gent and an Everton legend. My thoughts go out to his friends and family
  13. Is he any good? Just checked him out to see he has only scored 5 goals from 162 league games, is he a more defensively minded centre midfielder or is he like a playmaker? At least he is of a decent age at 25 years old
  14. Looks as if we will be signing Alcaraz today as well. @FourthOfficial_: Alcaraz has arrived at Finch Farm to finalise a move to Everton #efc Got to say I'm not overly excited by the types of players Martinez is bringing to our club. Not sure how he hopes to achieve getting us into the champions league in 3 odd seasons with these types of investments in these players. Really hope he makes better signings along with these otherwise it's going to be a depressing summer.
  15. Sunderland have agreed a fee with Az Alkmaar for Jozy Altidore
  16. My thoughts exactly was hoping more would come of our supposed interest in Wilfried Bony.
  17. Yes we do need him anything is better than seeing Naismith or osman on the wing. Also this guy is like shit hot, he's the next big thing out of Barcelona. Also is it not good for all parties? We get an awesome player he plays and ruins defences he progresses goes back to Barcelona stronger. Then our relations with Barcelona improve as a result of this loan deal if it is a success. Which could mean we get unwanted Barcelona players in the future or take players who want first team football off of their hands?
  18. @FourthOfficial_: Kone will still sign for Everton, Newcastle talk having no impact on the deal #EFC #WAFC #NUFC
  19. @FourthOfficial_: Reports coming out of Spain that Everton are close to signing Barcelona winger Gerard Deulofeu on a season long loan
  20. His friend did run his twitter its Oviedo on the account now he even said that on his account and in an interview that he took over and is now in control of the account
  21. You've also got the likes of Swansea and Norwich as well as Aston villa and Sunderland which are strengthening with better younger quality of players we need to do the same. If we don't have that much Kone doesn't seem worth it in terms of a business deal. If anything it shows a lack of ambition going for him we ought to be trying to get better quality of players which are younger. It's embarrassing when you see the likes of Norwich get players like Ricky van wolfswinkle whilst we are looking at Kone. And Swansea and west ham are bidding for Bony and chadli
  22. That's Paul lambert though he didn't have any senior players at villa of any quality that fit into his plans and he seems to favour younger players he did that at Norwich except at Norwich he has the advantage of playing at a lower league for them to develop and play together. When moving to villa they had sold most players who were already worth keeping years before that. He didn't quite get the right mix of experience and youth but I honestly think they will improve this season with much more solid defensive players coming to them like Okore sure they don't have experienced players and really every club needs a healthy balance of experience and young players. We kind of have a balance but we need younger players coming through now otherwise our squad will be far too old and our youngsters won't be settled in to replace some of our ageing first team members. It will take time for young players to settle and get a grip of the pressure thats expected at the top level of footbal. that's a problem Aston Villa encountered all their young players were thrown in the deep end they weren't eased into playing first team football at the top level and thus so they made mistakes which is only natural but they simply played far too many young players to experience players
  23. I was at the Norwich game and we were just so poor at defending crosses in many of the games leading up to it that it didn't take much for our defence to get ripped apart we were shocking making the sane mistakes we had been making for weeks he wasn't that impressive we just folded defensively. At 28 years old he's not near the right age or quality we should be looking at. Jozy Altidore a younger better similar player to him would be a better option. I understand Sunderland have made an enquiry about him and he's been in good form in the Dutch league and scored a great volley for the USA against Germany a few weeks ago.
  24. I'm definitely concerned about the age of our squad, that's why I am so strongly opposed to the idea of us buying Kone at all and the price is another factor. That and it showing a total lack of ambition bringing him to our team as opposed to trying to bring a younger player of real quality who could have a potential sell on value. This is bad business and I'm not overly excited at all we don't look like we are going to strengthen, which we desperately need to with every other club buying better players I feel we could seriously drop into a mid table side if we don't strengthen with quality younger players. I hope he does bring through some of the youth we already have because the age of our squad is a serious problem. We need a younger striker will potential sell on value instead of blowing what little cash we have on a 29 year old who isn't going to get much better
  25. Stupid thread. We don't have the money to sack him and we wouldn't that's the case as it is. He will get his chance to prove himself. I can't say I'm his biggest supporter I don't trust Roberto Martinez I have no idea what to expect from him, in some ways he's exciting but I for god don't trust him with whatever money we have. 5 million for Kone 29 years old dreadful business absolutely poor business. Especially considering he said he didn't need to buy players from Wigan and we found explore other options looking at a broader market then what does he go and do goes straight back to Wigan for an overaged player who isn't going to bring down the age of our already ageing squad which is the 2nd oldest team in the premier league. Not impressed by his actions at the moment in terms of his transfer activity and targets. He has said some good things in his interview which can get fans exciting but actions speak louder than words we are yet to see any action yet but not impressed by the proposed signing of Kone not at all!
