  1. Yeah totally agree - I started the topic 'positivity please' and I stick to what I said then. I'm all for the occassional moan when you have paid money to be disappointed but I also realise that I will be continually disappointed if the team's morale is constantly low and the fans get on their backs. You HAVE to support them - regardless of what is going on - booing is not a given right once you have purchased your ticket. Why do we feel that the players and staff are open to abuse and we do we feel that it is acceptably to abuse just because it is football. I would hit the roof is somebody 'booed' me in my job - its uncalled for and when the players have not performed - they know that they haven't performed. They dont need the fans to let them know. Its also very embarrasing for them to be booed off the field and that doesnt help the next time they surface for a game as they are anticipating the jeers and boo's. That makes them anxious and you will only see mistakes as a result - criticism is good if its constructive - but down right 'having a go' - 'having digs' will never contribute to anything more than what we have seen over the last 8 or so games - DEFEAT. I acknowledge that there are problems that need sorted - I am not being unrealistic in my poistive views - I am merely saying that booing and whinging is unacceptable and if thats how you truely feel, if you really cant bare to support the lads through thick and thin, then you shouldnt support them at all.. the saying of 'if you've got nothing good to say then dont say it all' springs to mind.
  2. No - he's defo not 100% fit - he hasn't got 90 minutes in him yet (not competitively anyway!) Good thing is that the Brum game was only his first start for us and his 2nd appearance (100mins of footie in all) - he can only improve on what we are already discribing as 'class'. Lets hope that he proves vital in our turn around!! Him and Arteta - suddenly Everton is looking to go forward and not sitback and defend. Their runs are forcing hibbert and the LB (whoever that may be) to come forward and support - meaning that the midfield (cahill and Davies) are also pushing forward and for the first time this season we are taking the game to the opposition rather than waiting for it to come to us.
  3. Bollox to Mcfadden - He's alright - just hasn't the confidence - I think that we should keep him and make him fight for his place. He may turn out good - think that Moyesy should put a few pounds on him though - he's too light in the tackle etc. VDM - if he continues the way he has started - then I could get to like him. His crossing is great, his vision is good (i.e. he cut it back inside to davies against the brum) and he takes defenders on - and WINS! good stuff - just hope that he can keep it going with out injury... Happy days!
  4. Thought that I could smell something - there is a distinctive smell of red shite in the air!
  5. We cant complain about injuries. Every club gets them - we got lucky with them last year and we are unlucky with them this year - but thats football, thats life. 28 points from 24 games (thats a maximum of 72 points) - is nothing short of dreadful and it has been largely masked by our finish in the league last year. But the form books always tell the truth and at the moment our form is bottom of the league. It may well turn round - the Chelsea game may indeed prove to be decisive this season. Hopefully, Boro will be tired on sunday after playing Utd this weekend, Europe on thursday and then travelling to us on Sunday morning.... I think that it is still too early to be able to say that we can challenge for a european spot as we simply haven't gelled yet - in my opinion. We are still missing chances that we would have easily tucked away last term and we should be seeing sides like the brum off... I am more than happy that we won on Saturday. In fact - made up...lets just hope that they can do it again against Boro - on my Birthday!!! And yes - I will be there and YES - they will spoil my day if they get beat!
  6. Not sure - can't remember reading or hearing anything about him. Unusual that he is completely dropped from the side! The only thing I can think is that VDM started and the bench had to make room for Kilbane. glad that Moysey seen sense and played Neville at Left back!
  7. I hope to god that this puts us back on track - VDM was superb. and Arteta was excellent down the right. Hibbert was solid I missed out by about 3 seats on getting a sweaty shirt from Arteta! Anyway - all good - great victory that could prove vital come the end of the season (Although all games are vital).
  8. They are all wearing designer clobber - expect big dunc who is wearing his Dad's xmas jumper and the worst polo shirt ever - how big is that Collar! I think that they all look a bit queer!
  9. vauhgan is in a taxi!! HAHAHAHA I reckon that Nigel Martyn looks like a little boy waiting for his sweets! (or like the ugly fat kid off the Vauxhall Meriva advert!)
  10. here is the link http://www.evertonfc.com/news/index.php?page_id=7923 Its not looking good for Saturday!
  11. Yobo is now a doubt for the Brum - according to the official website. How bad is that!
  12. Nah - can't see it myself. think that there are much better players out there that are available and younger... Keane is a prime example.
  13. Yobo at right back - yes Yobo at left back - no... He is good in the air and rarely loses out in a tackle so CB is his best position. He makes mistakes - but then Weir is far worse. Still think that Neville is the only option for LB. Then that frees up a space in midfield for Osman or Davies to fill.
  14. No - I agree - Faddy needs to move on for his own sake and ours - get him off the wage bill and use the money to sign someone else. Hearts will probably have him.
  15. Not gonna put a team down because I have been wrong all season! I think that we will get beat 1-0 at St. Andrew's - they won on wednesday and got the boost that they needed - we will struggle against Pennant and Heskey I'm afraid. Haven't got much optimism for this game...(although I would have if we had scored against Boro)
  16. hmmm. not sure about that - he is right footed... For udinese he played on the right (as in centre back) but for us, pre-season, MOyes had him playing in Weir's role. He is also taller than Dunc so we would lose the advantage on the crosses if he was playing wing back. No - for me, Neville has to be the choice. But it wont happen that way.
  17. Very, very true - look at beckham - quiet lad then overnight turned into the biggest dick in english football. Rooney - nice, calm, quiet lad at evert..oh no he was the fat, big headed tramp who shagged pensioners.
  18. So disgruntled Fozzie - I think that you have to give credit for last season - we had a lot of good games and the lads battled really hard. Their effort was second to none and they never gave up - thats the only real difference this year - we aren't battling as hard and we are giving up when we concede. it will change though.
  19. I do think that Terry would be just as good at any other team - he does the same job for England. I think that he is a tosser though - I had good respect for him and Chelsea until after our game last sunday - the excuses, the moaning, the cheating, the dirty fouls to get rid of our better players, the news articles by the players - jose's post match comments - lost all respect. I hope that they slide on the back of our draw - I hope that they lose all confidence in their ability and lose the title.
  20. I'm not so sure about the 12 players talk. I think that Moysey has brought in some good players - my only problem with his transfer dealings is that he failed to bring another striker. Arteta is a great signing Ferrari is a great signing Valente, VDM, Kroldrup have the markings of a set of great signings. I think that we are cutting Moyes and the board down because they didnt secure the signature of a decent striker. Although proving detrimental - I am glad that he didn't sign Forssell! We have to get on with it - the squd is as it is and we cant improve it until January - and we dont want to wait until then!
  21. Yeah - it should be quite exciting - cant help bit think that had Cahill played against Boro and been there to receive the crosses, that we would have been 2-3 goals up!
  22. totally agree - didnt we get rid of Xavier the arse bandit? How come he is back?
  23. Definately - Toffeeweb is the place where Evertonians go to cut their own throats. Rubbish website- its only good because the yank that runs it stays on the internet 24hrs a day and searches for Everton stories and rumours in the press. so I dont have to! OTher than that its a complete doom and gloomers site that only publishes what ITS EDITORS want us to see. It never publishes anything but negativity. I try and stay away - I only go on now and then - usually when the transfer windows are open (for the rumours) - although bluekipper is equally as good for the rumours (or blubber). Anyway - stay positive and get behind the lads.
