I wouldn't personally want us to buy a whole new defence we've got Coleman, Connolly, Kenny and Browning who can play RB. CB we've got Stones(for now at least) Jags,Mori,Pennington, (Browning and Galloway are both centre halves but played at RB/LB for experience) At LB we've Baines,Garbutt,Oviedo and Galloway. What we really need is a defensive coach to show them all how to play explain its okay to hit a bloke in row Z when the pressure is on. As for set pieces if it's true Jones said they didn't bother practising them as you only had to defend them a few times a game I think we can see where our problems stem from.

Baines replacement in the next few seasons as far as I'm concerned quality player. And Oviedo is shite at right back if that's being versatile we've all got a chance playing there.

I agree with you mate like I said he's got a mistake in him, kinda reminds me of Joe Yobo he seemed to do that a lot, in fact some of Yobos best defending was after he had dropped us in the shit! But he's young and hopefully with a manager slightly more defensive minded he should improve.

How old is he? I'm sure he's only 24, yes he has a mistake in him but he's by far been our best CB since he signed. With age his positional play will get better with a regular CB along side him he will improve in one game Gareth Barry was a CB if memory serves me. Oh and he's got a goal in him and from set pieces he's been our only threat this year!

His best bet would be for Moyes to make a erm well return his midfield set up would suit him down to the ground.

I'd agree with that Matt, but his level dropped really badly after his injury. The big question is after a full preseason will he get back too where he was? I'd play myself as a winger before him if I'm honest he has to play like an old fashioned inside left in a 5 man midfield to see his best in my opinion.

Be like a new signing if he gets back to the level he's capable of and cuts out the silly side of his game. More than capable of being a game changer when In the mood!

Best to find out the exact details first it may not be as straight forward as it sounds. I doubt the club would sack a 13 million pound player. More likely to send him to anger management to show they don't condone such behaviour.

Martinez didn't exactly help. Hit him early as Gerry did at the beginning of the season he's great but that ain't Martinez! Why play forward and risk losing possession when a sideways pass is on. I don't condone lack of effort they're paid a fortune each week just like we pay to watch them, but it must piss you off when you see a run and the ball goes backwards.
