  1. They will most prob end up showing Alan Stubbs knowing Everton those of us who are actually Everton supporters and have a grip on reality, can see the difference snce moyes took over as manager. with aj and bt upfront, huth at the back, howard in goal, we could be in for the best season for a long time.
  2. we were hoping to get aj last season. its a testimony to his integrity that he stuck with palace. we understand and applaude his loyalty. hope to see you guys back in the premiership soon.
  3. didnt know that. he was quite a character. which part of oz are you from? i lived just outside brisbane for 7 years! love the gold coast!
  4. but 3.5m is way over the top for his type so for me he's a failure he's still training with the england squad.
  5. AJ is a good signing (prob a bit expensive but thats football and Moyes in the transfer market). considering that two other clubs were after aj and both offered the same price as us i dont see that moyse could be blamed for the price! he must have done a good job to persuade aj to come to Goodison.
  6. weve gotta new goalie, new striker and new defender if huth signs. if we turnaround the negative goal difference that weve had for the last two seasons it'll prove that its money well spent. i'm really looking forward the next season. i think it could be special!
  7. after spending on AJ, Howard and Huth i dont know if theres a lot left in the kitty. our problem last season was our negative goal difference. with attilla the huth in the back 4 and aj and bt up front we may have sorted that out.
  8. i saw dixie interviewed on tv before he died, (obviously)! he had a metal plate in his head after an accident. everyone thought it would weaken him but he said it didnt, it made him a stronger header of the ball. he was asked if he thought anyone would beat his record. he said, no. theyre not good enough!
  9. We dont have any devine rights we dont have any divine lefts either, but weve had problems with goals at both ends. conceding and scoring. huth and aj should put paid to that. its really embarrassing to have a negative goal record. i think next season could be the best yet for moyes and the boys.
  10. yeah nevilles got the experience and the authority to handle the armband. i'd have no doubts about him.
  11. disagree with davies. he's shown touches of real class and pace and i think he's got what it takes. we'll see next season. given the squad size we'll be needing him.
  12. with AJ & BT up front and a reinforced defence with ATILLA the HUTH we could be in for a GREAT season! BEST OF LUCK TO PALACE NEXT SEASON!
  13. yeah we finished 10th! but look at the start we had. imagine were we could have been. if we get off to a better start we can do a LOT better than 10th. with AJ & BT up front and a reinforced defence with ATILLA the HUTH we could be i for a GREAT season!
  14. our best signings? BT. PHIL NEVILLE, ARTETA (FOR SURE), CAHILL? AND SOON AJ!

  16. I belive that ANDY Johnson is a great signing for the club, but as you say he is not worth 8.5 million pounds. you can't have it both ways! he can't be a great signing and too expensive! the market says HE IS worth 8.5mill. we may agree its a lot of money but thats the market valuation so THAT IS WHAT HE IS WORTH. can we afford him? can we not afford to buy the best available when they fall within our budget? we can't. we have to buy the best we can afford if w want to compete. if he can 15+ goals a season it will make the difference between being a mid table side or contenders for europe. in that case he will more than pay for himself.
  17. YOU MEAN JESUS CHRIST AT LEFT BACK? AS LONG AS HE DOESNT HAVE NAILS IN HIS BOOTS!
  18. wright=oh my god i dropped the ball, fell over sign, put foot thru table, where did the ball go,no,no not to me, do you see the differnce? yes. the difference its that the stats dont lie. they give an objective picture of the performance of the two keepers. wright : saves/shots ratio 71% martyn: saves/shots ratio 70% the facts are that there is little to choose between these two in performance terms. martyn has had more clean sheets but he has had more games as well.
  19. the stats for wright and martyn are NOT very different. wright saves/shots ratio 71% : 15 games - 19 goals. martyn saves/shots ratio 70% : 20 games - 24 goals. LESS THAN WRIGHT!!! not much to choose between them. lets see how the new guy works out next season.
  20. theres no point in complaining about the cost of a striker. 2 clubs have offered 8.5 mill for him so thats what he's worth. end of story! either we have the money to invest or we dont. if we dont, (and not many do), we will probably stay a mid table side for the forseeable future. in that case we would have to look for ways to generate cash over the long term to compete in the transfer market. maybe a bigger capacity stadium, for instance! there arent exactly a lot of top strikers on the market, hence the price. manu are offering vnr for about 10mill. can we afford him or persuade him to come to Everton? probably no on both counts. or we can try for aj. a talented young striker, and england international, and with a great record. 8.5 mill is a lot of money. but that the going rate!
  21. stubbs has always done a good job for us and he's worth another year i reckon.
  22. i dont know how the figures stack up. it should be possible to find out. a moderate player today can cost 3-4 mill! thats ridiculous. it means that only a few clubs can really compete in the transfer market. i dont know what the club is worth or how much of the cash goes in fees to directors, but that would be the first thing to discover before criticising the board.
  23. is he worth the money? a free transfer that is? i doubt it. didnt moysey look at him before and say no?
  24. aj scored 15 goals for palace last season. thats not bad. he's been a consistent high scorer every season. 8mill is a lot but if thats the going rate thats what youve gotta pay and theres not a lot of point in bellyaching about it. i dont know if weve got the cash or not but if we havent all we can affords are journeymen and that means we'll be lucky to win anything. money talks. and thats that. if you dont have the cash to invest then you stay a mid table team at best.
