  1. presumably Everton is a private company and doesnt have to publish accounts. perhaps were football clubs are concerned this should be changed.
  2. well we'll see how he does next season. so far he's had one good season. that proves little. if he has a good world cup and does well next season he'll have proved he is a real premiership player, not championship 1
  3. davies is too good to release. he hasnt had enough games to prove himself but he has shown flashes of class and brilliance.
  4. the reports here. http://msnsport.skysports.com/list.asp?hli...-+Season+Review
  5. "After a fairly traumatic start to the season, Everton showed a great deal of character to put things right on the pitch and recover sufficiently to finish just outside the top 10." ok. weve got character but we need talent as well. andy Johnson would be nice. bt's never looked like doing much. he's struggled to get into double figures but 15 or 16 is what we expected. the stats indicate that we need to change strategy as well. thats moyseys job! we'll watch the summer transfer market and see what weve got to look forward to next season.
  6. no. cahill isnt good enough, not for the premiership. i'd keep the younger keepers. i'm talking about the 1st team, not reserves.
  7. yobo, hibbert & neville. plus an import will replace stubbs and weir. they are both past their use by date.
  8. ARESENAL ARE REPUTEDLY INTERESTED AND HAVE OFFERED 8 MILLION!
  9. like what? vdm and ferrari havent been in the side much thru injury. thats no good. injury prone players are no use to us. i think vdm is a good player may be ok if he can get fit and keep fit. otherwise we can't afford him. ferrari has only played about 6 games all season. thats not good enough.
  10. GOALKEEPERS. NONE DEFENDERS : YOBO, HIBBERT MID FIELD : ARTETA, DAVIES, NEVILLE, OSMAN, VDM. FORWARDS: BT, McFADDEN. 9 players dont make a team, but these are the only ones i'd keep. neville can play defense and i'd make him captain. davies has had a lot of crit but i think he's shown some real class at times and i think he can come good. mcfadden is starting to play more, i'd give him another season to see how he develops.
  11. ferraris only played about half a dozen games this season. he's either injury prone or not good enough. eithe way he has to go.
  12. rubbish. no way would moysey join boro. newcastle would be a temptatin but both newcastle and he have denied the possibility!
  13. moyes has done a good job of consolidation. he, and the board, now have to build on that. the season started badly, and its interesting to wonder where we might have been had that not happened. if we'd finished in the top six, a possibility, everyone would have been happy. i think we have to strengthen our financial status to compete in the long term and that means a newer, big capacity stadium, 60 or 70 thousand seats. thats a challenge for the board. davey has to find the players and the tactics to get us a top 8 finish next season, without spending any money! its not a job that many managers would want. which brings up the question, who would the moaners replace him with?
  14. a great centre half for Everton and england.
  15. MOYES HAILS IMPROVED WRIGHT By: Scott McLeod http://www.evertonfc.com/news/index.php?page_id=9812 Everton boss David Moyes has hailed the improved form of Richard Wright. The goalkeeper has played each of the Blues' last eight matches following his recovery from an ankle injury. By his own admission, Wright's early performances following his return were not his best but in the last four games he has shown he is growing in confidence and returning to his best form. Moyes has been pleased with Wright's growing confidence and believes the unwavering support of the Goodison faithful has played a key part. He said: "I think we have got two terrific (senior) goalkeepers here. Nigel, who unfortunately is injured, and Richard and he has maybe needed to regain a little bit of confidence and he has shown that in his last few games and played very well. "I think the crowd's backing has helped him as well. They have got right behind him when they realised it was difficult for the boy, so they need a lot of credit for that and I think he has done well and hopefully he will continue to do well for the rest of the season." Wright's clean sheet in Saturday's 0-0 draw with Birmingham at Goodison was his second in eight games.
  16. yeah andy Johnson. a fair chance of getting him if crystal palace dont get promoted.
  17. wright is on his way out anyway. pistone also is think. ferguson i suspect has reached the end of the line. there maybe one or two lads from the academy that we can now use, boyle perhaps? i dont think we'll get much for the ones going, most would be freebies. i dont know how much moyes has got to spend but if its the reported 6mill he's not going to get much for that. he's got a tough job ahead of him and may need to use senior academy players. if their up to the challenge that may not be a bad move under the financial circumstances.

    Arthritis

A man who smelled like a distillery flopped on a barstool next to a priest. The man's tie was stained, his face was plastered with red lipstick, and a half-empty bottle of gin was sticking out of his torn coat pocket. He opened his newspaper and began reading. After a few minutes the dishevelled guy turned to the priest and asked, "Say, Father, what causes arthritis?" "Mister, it's caused by loose living, being with cheap, wicked women, too much alcohol, and a contempt for decent society". "Well, I'll be damned," the drunk muttered, returning to his paper. The priest, thinking he’d been too hard, nudged the man and said, "I'm very sorry, I didn't mean to come on so strong. How long have you had arthritis?". "I don't have it, Father. I was just reading in the paper here that the Pope does".
  19. buying players is only half the battle. youve then gotta pay them, and thats a lotta dough deez days. a bigger stadium will help with that problem in the long term, and youve gotta think long term when an ordinary player costs 4-5 mill! salaries and running costs arent going down in the near future so it seems to me that our main disadvantage is money for investment in players and stadium. this requires a bit of creative thinking from the board! are they up for it? <_<
  20. it comes down to money. should we make a new stadium a higher priority? with a bigger capacity and income would that give us the edge we need?
  21. "David Moyes has refuted suggestions that his side have little to play for in the remaining four league games. Defeat on Saturday to Tottenham seemingly reduced the chances of the Blues' late charge for Europe ending in success. But Moyes insists he will not tolerate anything other than 100% commitment over the coming games. He said: "We are paid well and it is a great club to play for. "So if anybody was like that, then they would soon be found out and we wouldnt have it, so we have got a job to do right to the end of the season." The Goodison chief has set his sights on achieving a first for his side since the Premiership began. "We want to finish as high up the league as we can," said Moyes, "If we can finish in the top ten it would be the first time in Evertons history that we have finished back to back season in the top ten so that has got to be something we try to do." With a trip to Stamford Bridge on Easter Monday, the boss was keen to see how his players performed against Chelsea, who would virtually secure the title with a win. "We have been involved in some games like that over the years," recalled the boss. " "We have had Arsenal a couple of times and Manchester United, so hopefully we can go there and put in a real good performance. "That is what we are interested in now, seeing what the players are made of." http://www.evertonfc.com/news/index.php?page_id=9757
