  1. i thought we'd already paid £700k for this guy? dont you have the trial before paying the money?
  2. a 0 - 0 draw is a likely outcome. we may even pinch a 1 - 0 win. if we do alex ferguson should give us tim howard for xmas!
  3. a new stadium isnt a choice -- its a necessity. the old one cannot be re-developed as it is surrounded by terraced housing. a modern, large capacity stadium is the cornerstone of the clubs future prosperity. i know its the panto season but unless a fairy godmother shows up and offers to subsidise the club virtually forever we have no choice but to move.
  4. it was great to see vaughn get a goal after the tough year he's had. for a youngster to go thru all that and comeback the way he did shows great character and potential. we should hang a 'not for sale' sign on him straight away.
  5. the first half was poor but the second half was a different game. we deserved to win and it was great to see vaughn get a goal after the tough year he's had. for a youngster to go thru all that and comeback the way he did shows great character and potential.
  6. the potential buyer of liverpoo has said that without a shared ground it just wont work! given the huge sum required i think he's right. we need a new stadium so do liverpoo. its ludicrous to have two stadiums at a cost of maybe 150mill each. have the respective boards got the balls for it?
  7. nuno was very poor. tried to play the ball out instead of clearing it and yobo decided to have a sit down and fasten his laces. i just hope that moysey gave those two a right good bollocking after the game. but it also hilites our lack of striking power. if aj isnt scoring and tc is out is there anyone who can step up? bt seems to be much less of a danger these days.
  8. WHAT DID ROONEY SAY WHEN HE RECEIVED HIS WRIT? HA! HE'S SPELT 'WRITE' WRONG!!!!

  10. if they settle out of court it could be an easy 20 grand for moysey.
  11. palace had their first wn in 9 matches yesterday. turner kept a clean sheet. a good start. he's now 22 and he should be under serious consideration for the first team squad at that age. if he's really any good! we'll see how he does at palace.
  12. done! the shortlist of 5 will be published on 30th november. it will be interesting to see if yobo's on it.
  13. we have certainly NOT been in a torpid state for the last 3 seasons. since walter smith was replaced by moyes we are no longer relegation fodder, which we ALWAYS were before moyes arrived. yes, the board has been divided and rudderless for a long time, but there have been signs of improvement and a new sense of determination to get things done, and done properly. we have consolidated ourselves as a good, solid mid-table team, with a real chance of being a top six side and getting regular european opportunities. Everton are now firmly esconced in the moyes era and complaining about past mistakes contributes nothing to developing the clubs future.
  14. well a lot of people said we would lose this one and would have been happy with a draw. so they should be over the moon with a win. bolton are a tough side to beat and theyve had a good season so far, but i can see them coming undone as the season progresses. arteta did well to get the winner. with cahill out for a while he may get more goal scoring opps. lets hope he takes them. aj is getting very close attention from defences and needs a lot of support to overcome them. again cahills absence may allow a bt/aj partnership to flower. if not weve got faddy and big vic waiting in the wings. a good win for us. i hope we can build a run of 3 pointers from this.
  15. they reckon this guy is a pele. of course the premier league is a bit different to the u.s. league. we'll soon see.
  16. how can anyone cheat with a hardcopy of the evidence for all to see? i'd imagine that the offcial would be out of a job pretty quick under those circumstances! it doesnt mean that there will be no more mistakes, just fewer and thats all we can expect.
  17. it will be interesting to see how he recovers from that nasty leg break he had. sometimes players arent the same after something like that. he's a good midfielder who can score as well. in fact he was a forward that was reinvented as a midfelder at manu. the best of luck to him wherever he goes.
  18. bolton are nothing if not predictable and moysey will have the team well prepared for this one. set pieces will give us good scoring opps. i fancy arteta to get one. i'd like us to play 2 upfront, bt and aj. bt's got the weight to worry bolton and he and aj could work well against a side like bolton. in defence we are without hibbo and he's a real loss. we need to keep djiouf under control otherwise there not much up front. Everton 2-0.
  19. apart from hibbert (a serous loss) and valente i dont think the others have played much this season have they. none of them are first choice!
  20. video evidence would be examined at times when the game has already stopped. for instance a controversial goal. the match is stopped and its either a kickoff or a goalkick. same with other occassions: "during the match video should be used for disputed penalty decisions and disputed goals. on both these occasions play is halted anyway so the match wouldnt be unnecessarily interrupted. for example a disputed penalty decision could often be cleared up by video in a matter of seconds. a disputed goal, such as an offside goal, could also be quickly cleared up. and on both these occasions the match is halted anyway. the 3rd occasion is after the match. the game can be reviewed and any fouls or serious incidents that the ref missed during the game can be dealt with." there would be minimal interruption to the game. and the result would be much fairer.
  21. while villa are better organised this time around they are not a much better outfit than last year. we should get 3 points at home without a problem. aj is a concern. he's missing easy goals and he's got himself a reputation, (deserved) as a diver. it will take a while to convince refs that he's mended his ways. this may be having a psychological impact on his confidence. he needs to score a goal or two to get back on track.
  22. "Their mother, Paul Gregg's first wife Jetta, killed herself in 1969, aged 30. The boys then spent their youth in children's homes and were passed from relative to relative as their father built a new life with his mistress, Anita Allison, and her family. Both the brothers have criminal records, and Bob has spent time in prison. The pair believe their brushes with the law are down to their troubled childhoods - but insist they have now rebuilt their lives. Tony, an ex-serviceman, and Bob, a dustman, now both in their 40s, told of their relief at finally getting access to their social services files." not hard to imagine why their mother committed suicide! i'm certainly glad he is no longer part of Everton f.c.
  23. its bound to be introduced sooner rather than later. the main thing is that it interrupts the game as little as possible. I think that there are 3 occasions when video should be used. 2 during the match and one after the match. during the match video should be used for disputed penalty decisions and disputed goals. on both these occasions play is halted anyway so the match wouldnt be unnecessarily interrupted. for example a disputed penalty decision could often be cleared up by video in a matter of seconds. a disputed goal, such as an offside goal, could also be quickly cleared up. and on both these occasions the match is halted anyway. the 3rd occasion is after the match. the game can be reviewed and any fouls or serious incidents that the ref missed during the game can be dealt with. for example off the ball incidents or goal mouth holding or obstructing, hard to see in the whirlwind of play, can be dealt with by issuing a yellow card AFTER the game. if players knew that retribution awaited them, and the long armof the f.a. law could reach them after the match, a lot of this behaviour would stop and the game would be improved substantially.
  24. we seem to be doing ok without hibbo, which is good. the defence did well to keep arsenal at bay on saturday, especially when you consider what they did at reading the week before!
