  1. Possession based football is on it's way out. Hence Barcelonas fall from grace. Atletico's and Madrid are playing in the new style.

Both styles have been around for years and years. Both have won many things over the years, and both will in future. However there should always be a plan B - not suddenly becoming Allardyce, just a few tweaks when necessary. The best coaches are adaptable :)

Edit - I'm not saying you are suggesting anyone should play like Allardyce. The above are just my general thoughts on style / coaching :)

  2. Agree with Romey. I wanted him a few seasons back to be honest. He's a ball winner and a lot more dynamic and mobile than Barry. Although I think that he may be on high wages.

Is he about the same age as Barry?

He's 26. Ran his contract down at Wigan so he could leave for free, at a time when he was pretty highly rated. Obviously Martinez doesn't hold a grudge though if this rumour is true

  3. the 40k a week for sitting on a bench for the most part of 2 seasons wouldve made up for it....

If we're talking 1-2m, then ok. But he chose a paycheck over regular football so, Im really not that bothered if we dont get him....

Can't blame the lad for joining Chelsea though, he was maybe 21 at the time, his agent will have been egging him on: 'course they'll play you Vic, they wouldn't blow £10m for nothing' (rubs hands together at the thought of his cut)...

He's had what, 3 managers at Chelsea since he signed? Went out on loan this year to try and prove himself / get some game time. I wouldn't say he's a mercenary, just young and hungry. There might be no truth in this anyway, but Roberto will know him inside out so if it is true then I'd be quietly optimistic. But as said, only at a relatively (compared to what Chelsea paid) low fee :)

  4. At a 'relatively' low fee I would say yes. Roberto knows him well and I would say that Moses owes him. Probably regrets signing for Chelsea now. But last season when he was actually given a proper run out (domestic cups and Europa), his record is 10 goals in 18 games.

He can play in any of the 4 attacking positions in the current formation. And as Trev says above, he will have a point to prove. It's a shame he's not out of contract in the summer, as then it would be a total no brainier.

But I'm sure Chelsea won't want to lose 5 or 6 million on him when he's still young...

  5. Why do people presume the Europa League wil have a detrimental effect on our League form when it has never done so in the past?

Roberto doesnt take the domestic cup competitions seriously when it comes to team selections anyway so I dont think the extra games would have that big an impact

    *one of the domestic cups

  6. Aimed at me?

    Yes. In a way.

Suppose it should be people linked, with no evidence or link to provide. However, where else can I expel my opinion or knowledge?

No not aimed at you mate. Was just wondering about the thread in general and the concept of it. I mean, in this day and age of technology and global reporting, can there actually exist a 'rumour without a link'? I'm thinking too deep about this aren't I haha? Just tell me to fuck off :P

I like reading the rumours anyway

  7. I have a quick question, and this isn't aimed at any of the recent rumours or posters, just a general one about this thread....

Isn't a rumour without a link just something that somebody has made up lol?

If even the most trashy website or paper hasn't rumoured it, then it's just some bloke saying who he would like us to sign? :P
