  1. I said 5th somewhere earlier and I'm sticking to that. In my opinion, we have 3 very winnable home games, 5 winnable away games, and 3 really huge home games. The 3 big home games won't necessarily make or break the season, because we could win all 8 of the others (unlikely I know, just an example).

That being said, would love to do the double over United, and stuff City as well. Hull may well have both eyes on a cup final come the last day of the season too. Will probably go down to the wire, but I'm sticking with 5th.

  2. Watched the game on TV and as others have said it was anyone's game up until the penalty. Silly from Barry but even the most experienced make mistakes now and again I guess. Robles is so shaky dealing with an aerial ball, but a good shot stopper and still young, so hopefully he'll improve on that area as well as his kicking. He's an adequate back up and has potential I would say.

Had Barkley scored, or Lukaku laid it off instead of trying to go for glory when we were 3 on 2 it could have been a win. Small margins when 2 attacking teams meet. Flattering scoreline for them but they did deserve the win overall. Hoping for a good run now in our next few winnable games, to get some confidence and momentum going into the 'bigger' home games that are coming up after them...

  3. not comparing but why get hernandez when we have naismith. both not quick, both score off the bench, both less if an impact when played for 90 mins. both good at making runs, both will nevet score a screamer from outside the box, both hard workers, both will never score over twenty in a season for everton.

Hernandez is very quick. This is all probably irrelevant, he'll score a few in the summer and be off to Spain I reckon. Probably Atletico when they lose Costa to Chelsea or Real

  4. I sometimes post on a site consisting mainly of North Americans. I asked them once why they say 'could care less' rather than 'couldn't', but nobody really had a satisfactory answer.

Ooh I agree, this has always annoyed me when watching US movies and TV shows. To say they 'could care less' indicates that they do in fact care by some measurable amount, however small. Us British saying we 'couldn't care less' means we don't care at all, i.e. it's impossible to care any less. I don't understand how Americans can't see that their version doesn't make sense?! Haha

  5. He shouldn't need to. He should just take Shaw and leave Cole at home. Being around the squad at a tournament will be good for Shaw when it comes to the next one as he's likely to be first choice by then.

Agree. Although Baines will still be there for the 2016 Euros I would think, if we qualify of course, then Shaw first choice by the next World Cup. Although things can obviously change depending on form at any time

  6. ok, so it is complete nonsense.... All kids are then when they dress up? Or get face painted?

Thankfully the comments on the story agree with common sense. It's just the media that stir this crap up. As one comment on the story says, I bet Whoopi would be flattered. There would be no racist spin on the article if Traore whited up and went as Crouch, it would just be taken in good humour

  7. I hope it's Henderson that makes it. He's a much better player.

if henderson doesn't then roy obviously doesn't pick on form..he's been awesome(sadly)

And to think Brenda told him last summer he could leave. Definitely pulled his socks up and earned his place. Was hoping he would be another expensive Kenny flop, sadly not!

  8. Going the game tonight. A little gutted that Baines isn't playing but I suppose that's better for Everton and his World Cup chances. Will be interesting to see if Barkley gets on and it will be interesting to see how many chances Tom Cleverly can cock up!

Sky sports seem to think Henderson will start tonight, and that only one out of him and Cleverley will make the final squad. I'm hoping Barkley dazzles with an impressive 20 minute cameo and a goal, but saves his legs for Saturday. Enjoy the game :)

  9. It's a different injury. He was back within 2 weeks from the one he signed with. Just bad luck.

I find it disappointing that some people seem to be pleased that he's injured just so they can say I told you so...

This subject has been done to death now, but he's a 'waste of space' with a 1:1 goal ratio so far

  10. biting off more than you can chew will bite you in the back side -

it is good to dream butin real life small dogs don't survive a dog fight amongst the big ones -

my point is simply - we are not big enough yet in many ways - to think we can take on the big dogs of Europe next season without getting hurt -

small squad , no quality striker or nr 10 , 3 or 4 positions without sufficient cover, - makes rotation a pipe dream - Europe without rotation is suicide -

what has Europe done for Swansea this season ? cracked them and their former manager - same shortcomings as us at the moment

which English clubs transformed themselves into a big dog clubs with a Europe ticket ?

the wounded, scarred and crippled small dogs are numerous - because they honestly believed positive thinking and the right attitude is enough to succeed - keep on dreaming-

small club mentality v wishfull thinking - depends on your point of view -

read my last 4 lines of previous post - that is where the problem lie - positive attitude won't heal those big challenges of all so called smaller clubs on a sustainable basis

At least one striker will be coming into the club in the summer.

Barkley is a quality number 10.

Europa League is one step on the ladder to building up the club profile and revenues.

Sorry, I know it's all opinions, but can't really agree with anything you've said there
