  1. Because he's usually injured. The only times he was ever linked to other teams, the price named was always ridiculously low (2m-5m). Even though he's a decent footballer, that is the normal law of football economics. He's not a starting player and usually injured.

If he has ever been linked to a transfer in the last 4 years and quoted at £2 to 5m, then that story was also bollocks :)

  2. I think he's going to be very cheap tbh.

Out of interest, what makes you think that? Is he coming to the final year of his contract or something? Even if he is then he would still command a decent fee. Has his lack of playing time for arsenal affected his starting position for his country? If not then he'll also have a World Cup in which to showcase himself to potential suitors

  3. Haven't the article but I imagine this is bollocks. They'll want at least £10-12m I would think, plus his wages will be pretty high. And he's 28 so before you know it he's over 30, and he's also had some injury problems in the past. I'd be amazed if Roberto even considers for a split second blowing half his budget on a position that isn't a priority at all and is pretty well covered

  4. Wow didn't expect that! Very interesting, it sounds like he's been planning this a while. So if Barry does sign it would be a 2 year contract anyway probably, due to his age, with Baines phasing into his new position gradually during that second season? Or alternatively do we think Barry might not sign now, and Roberto might go with this from next season onwards, Brian playing left back??

  5. I think stones will play but if Roberto plays jags there will be no finger pointing from me if we get beat.

Yeah I agree. In a way they both deserve to play, as does Distin, so it's a bit of a dilemma for Roberto as there are pros and cons for both Jags and Stones. Whoever he picks will be there on merit

  6. true but if he was spiteful he'd send him to espanyol or something, not us. i just don't like that roberto to barca is so common and tossed about. i was fine with the arsenal one, but not barca.

Barca wouldn't consider him yet anyway I don't think, too soon. Maybe if he'd been involved in their academy or coached their reserves / youth team, but he's spent as much of his life in Britain as he did in Spain. I don't think just being a Catalan and winning one FA cup is enough for that job just yet.

  7. Sky Broadband, unlimited usage (I don't think there's a cap as the a 'on demand' thingy uses data to download shows so it would be quite a high usage each month). Can't remember what it costs, £7.50 I think on top of the Sky subscription. Speeds are 18 to 20 download and 1.1 to 1.2 upload, so quite lucky really to get that download speed on plain regular broadband :)

  8. Unbelievably, I think Sterling would be a better option.

    Hart

    Johnson Jagielka Cahill Baines

    Gerrard

    Sterling Barkley Lallana

    Sturridge Rooney

On current form this would be my 11 as well. Possibly a bit exposed defensively with only Gerrard in front of the back 4.... but no guts no glory!
