  1. He's been shocking, but so have the whole team. There is not enough world quality in that side. Gerrard, Rooney and Baines only players who you can consider in the top band. All scousers
  2. To be honest he's said he's one of the best he's seen. Also he does mention that a World Cup squad should have one or two inexperienced players not five or six. Whether he sees Barkley as one of the two he doesn't mention.
  3. Yes. In Rooneys era. Players the similar age etc etc
  4. A year makes a huge difference to someone's development. That six months in and around the first team would have done Stones and Oviedo (a year) good and they would certainly be better players at the start of this season than they were last season. Oviedo was not very impressive under Moyes. In the few games he played he didn't look half the player he is now.
  5. I've listed players active for the 10 years of Rooneys career (his era). Del Piero' peak was arguably well before Rooney was on the scene same with most you list. Of course there's a difference between all time and current.
  6. So does Rooney belong it that list or not. Because if he doesn't he must belong with a different group but like who?
  7. Not saying that but I certainly think Rooney belongs in that list.
  8. All defenders you list. Thiago Silva? He's only been around 4-5 years.
  9. Rooney could yet hit his peak. He's only 28. Unfortunately I don't think he will
  10. This squad is definitely better than what Moyes had at his disposal last season. Martinez has utilised players better though. I.e Barkley, Naismith and Stones
  11. 09/10 he scored 34 in all comps. 11/12 he scored 34 in all comps. So those seasons would be in and around his peak. Not sure where that left him in terms of goals scored around Europe but it wouldn't be far off the top 3 strikers, if at all. Top 10 players who have been involved for the 10 consecutive seasons Rooney has. Messi Ronaldo Ribery Ibrahimovic Iniesta Rooney Xavi Pirlo ...... ...... Missing two. Possibly Drogba & Totti should be added to that list.
  12. Whilst that is the case now and nobody will disagree. There is certainly a good argument that at some point in his career he was one of the best strikers in the world.
  13. I'd also consider Gerrard world class if I'm honest. Different outlook on players. I also consider Zidane the greatest EVER player.
  14. I rate him top 10 players in last 10 years that's my opinion and I stick by it.
  15. Nothing wrong with the opinion but you're certainly playing him down far lower than he is!
  16. Messi and Ronaldo are on a completely different level though. That's what I don't get. The words "world class" have no in stone definition. For me it's the world elite players. I'll say it over and over again. Rooney has been amongst that group at stages in his career!
  17. I've seen enough of Ronaldo to know he has a lot more to his game than scoring goals from inside the box. Look at his 50 greatest goals. they are diverse....dribbling, long range, free kicks.
  18. Zzzz Ronaldo and Gerd Muller lmao! you're on a wind up.
  19. Er no it wasn't. You quoted me in your essay
  20. Yes, Its was the responses to my posts listed above, words like mental, nonsense and a shite way to put it. So I returned the favour.
