He's definitely got the foundation to be good enough. Where he lacks is the basics in passing. When he's on the front foot with space infront of him he can be lethal. He'll make it there in my opinion. But he's not ready yet and they will know this.

Deulofeu is miles away from Barcelona standard though. I think he'll get another year out on loan. I personally think he's 2 years away.

He looked a different player today sharper etc but far too early to say he should be a starter ahead of those two.

Mcgeady really did liven things up. You can see he's getting a lot fitter and he now looks a useful player. For me there is no plan B though. Going to be controversial but why do we continue to stick with two sitters when things need lifting? I find Barry and McCarthy spare when we are chasing games like today. Two fellas doing the same job and not benefiting our attack other than building it up from the back. We definitely need that central box to box midfielder. Missing one massively in my opinion. Someone who switches defence to attack with no effort.

I was a little worried when Baines got injured but the lad stepped in and did much much more than enough. We didn't miss Baines one bit and it was a period when we got some great results over a long period of time. I hope the recovery is quick but I mainly hope he comes back fit and the same player as before for the start of our season. If he misses the World Cup it will be a disappointment for him but it's Everton who matter.

Which is what Moyes built. It was the same under Moyes. Last season was no different. The expectation hasn't just suddenly arose this season it's been around for 10 years. Hence same old Everton. Those same people were calling the thread when I started it. So far it's been proved right. The season fell apart from mid January and I'm massively dissapointed we are having to settle for Europa league in March and that's still an "if". What's wrong with having a realist opinion and talking about it on the forum? Why should I be positive when results aren't? And if i'm not I get called a WUM. If Sherwood's still manager come the start of next season I think we may have a chance but will depend on fee. He's exactly the type of player Everton need in the squad. Very versatile across the midfield. However, if a new manager goes in he may be given a new lease of light at Spurs.
