Phil Neville was an excellent pointer. He loved the club, so much so he still talks about us today. He was probably the best all round central midfielder I'd ever seen. How many of you got Neville on the back of your shirt?? Come on Matt....

One things for certain. Oxlade Chamberlain has to start at the World Cup. Quality player who again sometimes lacks consistency. His performance against Liverpool at the emirates was top draw. Hart Johnson Jagielka Cahill Baines Oxlade Gerrard Henderson Townsend Rooney Sturridge That's what I'd go with. It's looks weak as hell on paper mind. I'd have Adam Johnson in there too but he won't be selected. If he hasn't made the 30 this time round he's got little chance at all.

Hodgson has back tracked a little on it though. He referenced him being included in a bigger squad. That would indicate to me he may not have made the 23 man squad.

He was absolutely terrible. He was the hallmark of the glass ceiling. We would have been better giving him a coaching role two or three seasons back. All he was good at in the end was making players feel welcome at the club. He was a charlatan in the last few seasons. The display against Wigan in the quarters last year was a disgrace.

You have to have really good scouts to find players like Mirallas for that money. Players of that pedigree would usually cost £12m+. I think the Europa would be good for the fans etc. However I don't see it taking us to the next level. Financially it's not very fruitful and it can have a major affect on player fatigue (as would the champions league). The difference is financially the champions league allows you to add additional quality to counter fatigue of players. Don't get me wrong I would be happy for a Europa league finish now that we are probably out of the champions league places for good. It just comes down to the inability to go out and spend to progress to the next level.

The key words being "champions league" not "Europa"

I thought clattenberg had a decent game against Southampton but that was at Goodison. Phil Dowd is the best in the league for me. No shit from anyone no matter who you are.

I'd like to make Lukaku permanent but I'm not sure it will happen. I think Chelsea will sell at the right price but not sure what his thoughts are on joining us permanently. Especially if there is no CL football

Possibly, just think Mirallas has that cutting edge at times that no one else has. Dangerous and explosive in the final third. As I say very hot and cold. If he was hot all the time there would be no doubt he's the best player here.

Why would I be pleased?? I wanted someone in who was a quality player and because he's here. We didn't get anyone else. It has to go down as a shockingly bad transfer decision. Especially with our league position. Absolutely terrible. Monaco probably just laughed and said he's contracted to you for 6months deal with him.

No point being in the Europa unless you actually win it and have a big enough squad to deal with it. The way this squad handled a busy December does not beam confidence into me. I think if we go into the Europa we will slip in the league rather than climb. Liverpool without the Europa league this season have made massive progress in the league and I wouldn't write them off just yet for the title. Not with those two upfront.
