  1. Have to say I'm not too inspired by England. Haven't been for a long time but under Hodgson I think expectation is lower than ever for me. He seems to pick odd players like Cleverley, Milner, Welbeck and Henderson religiously. Leaving out players in form like Barry & Adam Johnson who have been in spectacular form. I can't see us doing anything in this tournament.
  2. Had a look at his stats and surprisingly he's a very good player. He's definitely easy on the eye. Maybe he's has the sort of reputation Osman had/has for us. Definitely a squadie though.
  3. Martinez should never have sold a fit striker and replaced him with an injured one. That's just my view on it. He was also shite by the look of it.
  4. If Alcaraz is fit I think it will be him.
  5. Hernandez is a top class goalscorer. Offers nothing else but definitely someone a club like us could do with. For £10m I think that would be a bargain. Heavily linked with bigger clubs in the past though.
  6. http://www.mirror.co.uk/sport/football/news/everton-face-summer-transfer-dilemma-3181327 I think that's a fairly balanced write up. In my opinion we really do need to keep all our options open. I don't think Mourinho wants him back, but is he worth what they will ask for him? If there is £20m available the cards are in our hands.
  7. Agree Barkley just isn't right.
  8. When have we missed McCarthy? I think what the guy is saying is Noble has dragged them out of a tough period with his goals. He's always been a decent player IMO. However I agree he's not England level.
  9. It's all ifs and buts. The same happened last season. Nothing has changed. It was getting Jelavic back on form last season. Or missing Gibson etc etc.
  10. If the thread bothers you so much why not just ignore it? It's gone 9 pages and as said its a valid debate. You seem to have turned it into some pro Moyes anti Moyes thread.
  11. Bold 1: No it wasn't. The thread was made when there was an obvious gap opening up between us and the top 4. It was to highlight that in reality what we can achieve in the league hasn't changed one bit. I don't even think I mentioned Moyes and if I did it was probably something along the lines of "the same happened under Moyes" which is hardly trying to big Moyes up. Bold 2: Moyes evolved Everton from Relegation to fodder to European challenges. I like Martinez I think his philosophy is right he's pointing us in the right direction. What I don't agree with is that we are a better side under Martinez. We just aren't "yet". The football seems to be better we retain it a lot more. But are we more fruitful in terms of changes created under Martinez? Are we heck look at the stats!
  12. Is the 5,000 more than we were allocated in the league?
  13. 6-0 Lukaku FGS and hatrick. Now there's positivity.
  14. I think Bony is a good player who will most likely get goals wherever he goes. Dominico Berardi who plays for sassuolo in Italy looks a top prospect. Juventus bought co-ownership of him last season though. So it's looks unlikely. Anyway he scored 4 goals in one game against Milan this season and reminds me of a young raw Negredo. He is only 19 and has 12 goals in 20 seria A appearances. I'm sure there will be a few top clubs looking at him.
  15. It's not the sale I have problems with because things just wernt working out. However, the way we went about replacing him did not inspire at all.
  16. I'd happily put my hands up and agree if Gibson came in and it didn't work out. The difference is not once has Gibson looked shite. Even in his 87mins this season he was decent. Traore on the other hand was absolute pants. The reason why I have such a strong agenda with the whole Traore deal is simple. I was expecting a top top player!
  17. So your argument is to use the gulf in class of Savage and Xavi in reference to the gulf in ability of Gibson and McCarthy? Ridiculous. Gibson is a very good player, I think people are getting far too carried away with McCarthy. Gibson has player 87minutes of football in this new side and hasn't even played next to Barry yet. I find it hard to see how people are forgetting the importance of Gibson last season.
  18. Completely different as we have all seen Gibson come in and make this side tick. To suggest McCarthy and Barry are a better option before even seeing both partnerships is premature. We know Gibson is a good player and there is no reason to suggest that he wouldn't be as good.
  19. That's untrue though. Based on what as you have seen him once or twice in this new side?
  20. Nikica, The point I was making was the pairing we have in the middle. IMO we would be a much better side with one of those sitters who can sway from defensive duties to attack depending on the way the games going. Other sides around us have those type of players. Our two midfield players - neither are box to box midfielders. Liverpool have Gerrard . Spurs have Dembele. Chelsea have Lampard and Ramires etc etc.
