  1. I reckon Big Sam keeps his eye on what's happening at GP!
  2. Blueblood - a very reasoned analysis of our current situation. I'm feeling very downbeat at the mo - REALLY hope to be proved wrong but we look idiots not to have captured a reasonably big name. Agree it will be difficult to compete with the likes of SPurs A Villa and Pompey. Sad times.
  3. Had high hopes for AJ just as with James Beattie! PLEASE let us sign some players that deliver otherwise I agree with what others have said that we will be a laughing stock.
  4. Never been a fan but if the fee is cheap I'd take him. It's a must to strengthen the squad for Europe and in case of injuries. We have to take the points against the weak teams from the word go.
  5. Left wing but can also play on right - sounds useful.
  6. He's taken some stick on TT but I'll be sorry to see him go and he would have been good experienced cover in Europe for our rather thin squad. Also agree that it forces DM's hand.
  7. 5th for me too. Best of the rest is definitely an achievement given our shoestring budget. Considering today's Cup Finalists that has to be a target too but I'd prefer a good UEFA run, as has already been said we beat this year's winners.
  8. Yak penalty, we've done it! Celebratory drink I think.
  9. Shit, penalty scored by Owen
  10. Cricket, synchronised swimming and horse racing.
  11. Sorry I'm late, just found this topic! Detest Steve Rider. Jumped from Beeb to ITV and they've lost F1 next year. He's no good for football either. And it goes without saying Andy Gray.
  12. It stuck in my throat voting for the Shite but the Red wine's helped ease the pain!!
  13. Manc City's bottomless pit is a worry. Who's to say they wouldn't go after Davey if Sven goes and if we aren't able to spend he might be tempted + taking players with him. Nightmare scenario IMO.

    Chelsea (home)

Looks like Dogbone won't be in the squad. I hope Chelsea are looking to their game with the RS, 1-0 us. Yak to deliver.
  15. Have to say, no pen, shame for the Arsies and Walcott's run was stunning

We were always going to be under the cosh with players missing and 1-0 was not bad on the day. I was wholly pissed off with Andy Gray "I don't know what sort of manager David is but he needs to have a go at them at half time". Ok Yak particularly and a few others might have needed a kick up the proverbial but we were severely lacking in options with all the injuries. At least Jamie Redknapp was the voice of reason and gave reasoned opinion on our performance. I'm going to be happy with a UEFA place again as I think we would be a laughing stock in the CL assuming there is not money to strengthen the squad. Let's get behind the team for the rest of the season to make a Uefa place again.
  17. Gutted, we were not good enough tonight. Do we want to end up in 4th? Money would be good but i don't think we can go the distance. Back to Uefa, let's not kick the team when they are down and get behind them for next Wed - it is winnable. COYB.
  18. Obviously waiting for the sentence for his brother has affected his recent form but good to see him moving forward now. Tim you wear your heart on your sleeve and we love ya for it.
  19. Have agree with all thats said about Yobo and i don't think Howard gets as much credit as he deserves. As someone said he's a good keeper but I think he's reliable albeit with the occasional mistake.
  20. Only saw the brief highlights (last report!) on MOTD. I do think we should be grateful to have Tim Howard between the sticks. He doesn't seem to get the plaudits from us supporters that he deserves.
  21. And why not! If you look at other Prem managers DM is definitely up there and long may it continue as I said in a previous post I am beginning to see him as our Fergie, there for the long haul. It's great being a blue
  22. I want to keep him. We have a strong squad that want to succeed together. Sure there are no guaranteed places in the team but that's got to be a good thing and also I'd like to think that DM will be our Ferguson and bring success and stay for a long time. Stability is important in management and players.
  23. UEFA semi, FA semi, top 6. Think the Carling might be difficult as we've got the Hammers away next round. I'm feeling pretty confident at the moment givn the strength of the squad now compared to previous seasons.
  24. Just shows the passion these players have for our club, don't give up. Great point.
