Judgement reserved, not quite sure what the intent is behind the late unveiling. I haven't seen anything official regarding the timing of the release later in the day. From the other link it seems we can assume a white away shirt.

I'd be a bit gutted to see him go to Marseille, not that YouTube is a great avenue for evaluating a player but at the release clause I think he'd be worth a punt on. If it's a case of him and another but Lukaku at 20M I'd rather we spent the money on a couple of players with potential.

I still get a lot of positive remarks about the purple shirt that was released a few years back.

Looks a nice shade of blue to me; I know most of them are but some season's look like they've faded in the wash when they're brand new!

God that one was awful!

That was truly awful. It's in my closet with my other shirts and even a glimpse of it makes me shudder.

An extension and pay rise would seem justified, double pay though seems strange. Roberto also mentioned the same will be happening with Barkley. There was a post a little while back about how this falls in line with how RM operates, a number of extensions makes the player feel loved and rewarded but also keeps them on longer contracts in case someone decides they want to bid.

Out of interest has Rodwell actually managed to play a number of games in succession without injury? Not much chance of getting a run of games at city but all I can remember is a very stop/start career. Haf's post above puts it into context.

Think Van Gaal will end up being a terrible appointment for United, they may well have 200M to spend but as shown by Spurs those players brought in will need time to gel. If they don't hit their minimum requirement then he'll be fired and they'll continue the carousel.

Plus the situation with teachers pet and Rooney will be interesting. They've really shot themselves in the foot with that 300k contract

Reading conflicting reports on his future. Some say he has turned to the dark side and has set his heart on joining Liverpool, others say he'll stay at Saints for at least one more season. I guess a lot will also depend on what happens with the Saints manager.

The only time I can see Stones moving on will be when Bobby moves on to another club. I could see Bobby coming back for him straight away.

If we do get him then I think we'd need to see him bulk up a bit. I keep reading that City will splash the cash on Messi and I just don't see how Messi would cope with the physicality of the EPL. No doubt he would get a welcome to the EPL clattering at every ground. I guess Silva illustrates he could be successful anyway I'm digressing from the thread.

There was a short discussion about the price we paid for Stones. You have to pay what the player is worth now rather than potential. If that was the case with Stones then we would have paid much higher. 20M for Lukaku is inflated due to the potential. Up to 15M with adds on works. Anything above that and Chelsea get an early christmas present.

His first game back playing at Goodison will be something special.

I read somewhere the other day that Bobby has a 3.5M release clause. Never heard a manager having that type of clause in his contract before and it may be a load of bollocks. If it is true though that needs to be gone in any new contract.
