If we had a good 3rd CB and Jagielka plays like he started last season he should be dropped. Problem last season was that Stones was injured and Distin and Alcaraz were even worse than Jagielka.

But that's the thing, he wouldn't be. You could say the same about a forward, no point in spending much on striker, because he'd be second choice after Lukaku? Plus Jagielka will be 33 in August.

That would be shite, because it would mean they would not be with the team during pre-season. How do you train your attacking player without the number 10? Or how to defend when your new defensive recruit arrives just before the season starts?

How many games do you think Jagielka and Stones will play together? Consider that Ogbonna would play in the rest. Plus it would that if either Jagielka or Stones is off-form we'd have a decent player to step in. For instance last season Distin started 12 and Alcaraz 6 games in the Premier League. That's already 18 games. Stones played 23.. and those two also played 11 matches combined in the cups. So if Ogbonna played 29 matches next season, would he be just a backup?

We have about 50 million which is easily serviced by now that revenue is already about 120 million and will be closer to 200 million in a few years time (when the next contract starts).

Baines and Coleman are excellent fullbacks, no doubt, but the idea that we should rely solely on them is silly. With the midfield we have, opponents can start man-marking them out of the game because nothing's going to come through the middle anyways. That would just be too predictable for this level.

There won't be too many suitors for McGeady, Celtic are apparently willing to pay 1 million so it won't help much. My hope is there's enough to buy a good #10 and a decent CB. Of course if someone is sold, most money should be available to Martinez.

We can't afford all of them, that would require 30+ million. Praet is 10 million, Martial closer to 20 and Byram about 8.

What's the point in raising awareness? Without any merchandise to buy it equals to f**k all. Players can get fit closer to home. Going to Singapore will loose at least two days traveling.

In that case, what's the point in going to play pre-season friendlies in places like Singapore? Most clubs do it for marketing purposes, if we just go with your train of thought the team should stay in the Liverpool area, maybe a few short away trips. Would be less demanding on the players and save some money.

What sort of player do you think we can attract? Shaqiri has been linked with RS, ManU, etc. and has a CL winner's medal. Fact is we won't sign a player of his stature, we are hoping to nick someone who Stoke or West Ham don't want. To sign a 23-year CL winner who is quick as hell and highly regarded is ridiculous. If this is the level you are not happy with you will be pretty disappointed on September 1st.

Nope, the team is about as dysfunctional still as it was last season. Number 10 still missing, only decent forward is Lukaku. Still issues with wide players and only two good centrebacks. Those need sorting out.
