  1. Lord...I was joking. Can't anyone joke around here? Anyways, one thing I learned from today's match was one of my biggest concerns heading into this season: we need a new center half. Jags has looked mediocre at best thus far, and Syl's age looks like it's finally starting to show. Not to mention I'm not totally sold on Stones (at least at this point in his career). We need a proven, near-world class center half.
  2. Hey, if we finish the other 36 matches with 2-2 draws, it would put us at 76 points. Which should be enough for a top 4 finish..... I hate trying to look on the bright side. It's too bright.
  3. Frankly anyone would be a good replacement for Ross right now. I think we could make do for a couple weeks with a combination of Naismith/Peanuts/Kev playing underneath the striker, but we're going to need some cover eventually.
  4. http://m.bleacherreport.com/articles/2161748-everton-should-be-americas-de-facto-favorite-team-in-2014-premier-league-season Bleacher Report is an American sports site. Went on tonight and this was the lead story, not just in the soccer section, but the entire site. Was pretty awesome to see that.
  5. Have there been any updates on how he's doing? Huge blow for us if he's out for an extended period of time.
  6. http://www.theguardian.com/football/2014/aug/05/blackpool-goalkeeper-joe-lewis-cardiff This happened earlier today.
  7. Well that's how you know you've REALLY made it...
  8. If you want, all of us who weren't as lucky as you to be an Evertonian from birth can go away and stop giving money to the club that then gets used to buy new players....
  9. Was it just a rumor then that it would only be £5 million up front, with the rest paid out over the years?
  10. I don't see us going for another center forward. Lukaku, Kone will hopefully be back, Henen is an option, plus Naismith and Mirallas could play up there if need be. I think winger is a priority. And as little as it's talked about, I think we need another center half. Alcaraz is a joke, and Syl is one wrong step away from a broken hip.
  11. This was right after someone posted about a loan deal for Atsu. I thought you were referring to that post, and thus referencing ANY loan deals. My mistake.
  12. That seems rather narrow-minded. Say we secure Atsu on loan and he has an unbelieavble season, and scores the goal that clinches us champs league football next season. Will you still be against loan moves?
  13. Was talking with a buddy of mine about this. He's a lifelong Evertonian, born and raised in Liverpool, now lives in Minneapolis. This I think is the biggest difference between American and English football fans. For us Americans, our national team is #1, no doubt about it. But the majority of English people I've talked to, they couldn't give two shits about the national team. (To be fair, I wouldn't give two shits about them either. The Kings of under achieving
  14. Just read up on him a bit. Arsenal were apparently set to sign him a few weeks ago. United also were looking at him. For only 1 million, I'd say it's a pretty good gamble.
  15. Yeah, but why not just kick in an extra 3 million and get Rom, who we're familiar with and know can score goals?
  16. No, I saw what you said last time. I guess I'm just not sure HOW quickly a match like that could sell out. Say I don't check the site for 6 hours the day they go on sale. Is it conceivable it could sell it then?
  17. I'm gonna be in the UK in January and am planning on getting tickets to the City match on the 10th. Does someone know: do I have to sign up for something in order to be notified when tickets go on sale? Being a home match against City, it will sell out, and I want to make sure I get in there before it does.
  18. We must make at least 4 new, quality signings in order to be competitive this season. Newcastle are improving with their signings, Arsenal are finally splashing some cash with some impressive signings, United are re-tooling and will be better this season.
  19. NOOOOOOO!!!!! What a waste of a roster spot/wages. What a joke.
