  1. Is Bloodstock part of the answer?, as in bloodstock agent.
  2. Unless its a word the dealers go under or use for professional purposes and also the name of a golf course then that question is to obscure for me.
  3. Anything to do with an episode of the Young Ones which has a parody of the Good Life in one of its episodes.
  4. John Cleese, guested in an episdoe of Last of the Summer Wine and his name sounds like cheese or cheese and wine maybe. By the way Jimmy your previous two tv connections have actors all from Last of the Summer Wine, Stephen Lewis, Burt Kwouk and Leonard Rossiters missus is in it. That a conicidence by any chance.
  5. A couple of decent performances yesterday in a 6/10 team effort. Pienaar was industrious without being the crative influence that we need. Fellaini was an improvement on last week but can still improve further dramatically, Jagileka, on recent evidence, is not a right back and a couple of times was caught out as seen by Yobo covering him and conceding a corner which resulted in their goal. Neville was is usual underrated self, Cahill in a mkore deeper role was quite effective and lets hope it was tactical (maybe giving him a rest) that seen him taken off at half time, however my vote for yesterday goes to Baines. Strong in the tackle, good going forward, some sound crossing and just beats Yobo for my vote.
  6. My dad was born in Northern Ireland and came over here in the early 1930's. He was a Rangers supporter and therefore followed the team in Blue. He even went to the 1933 FA Cup final, where his idol Dixie netted in a 3-0 win against Man City. It was obvious when I came along in the early 1960's I was going to be a Blue. On the night I was born, my dad was being such a pest to my mum and the midwife that they packed him off to the match, where Fred Pickering scored the only goal in a 1-0 win against Forest, surprisingly I wasn't christened Fred. My first game was in 1968 where we thrashed Leicester 7-1, complete with Shilton in goal. The day was complete when my dad got his tanner yankee up and I found a ten bob note on the Upper Bullens floor. I got my first season ticket for the paddock when I was 11 and with my birthday being in August, I got my birthday wish for my renewal until I was old enough to provide for myself and for that I am eternally grateful to my mum and dad. I am still a season ticket holder today while my dad watches from the comfort of his armchair but he is still as passionate as ever, well into his 80's. I even had to marry a Blue and thankfully she is Blue through and through as well. For us supporting the Blues means lots of things but these 4 word say it all.............."Nil Satis Nisi Optimum"
  7. Tickets being advertised on site called ticket4football. Offering face value tickets of £50 for £150 and upwards. They have a total of 38 tickets being advertised, correct me if I am wrong but they haven't even sorted out for defo which match is being played on which day, so how do these sites get hold of tickets, promises already made to them maybe from corporate allocation? As usual the genuine fans come last.
  8. Don't wish to gate crash the party but er........I believe it was I who has championed Mr Neville for most of the season but don't let his detractors know, they might start on me. However at the end of the day it's all about opinions and we will have our favourites and are less liked players but personally it is the result that counts for me. Now let's look forward to three points on Saturday with a Fellaini hat trick all from Neville crosses.
  9. Well yesterdays man of the match has opened up a can of worms and true to form I shall open it further with my own opinion, as viewed from my lovely speck in the Upper Gwladys Street. Apart from scoring Fellaini was atrocious and I can't believe the amount of MOM's votes he got for yesterday and I am one of his lesser critics, his passing was poor and his work rate was dismal. The defence was solid enough but did have some shaky moments and I believe that is because Jagielka is playing out of position. The best player was Neville, again he had to carry Rodwell, who like at Blackburn, looked out of his depth. Neville was tidy enough, strong in the tackle and won a fair few headers. I think he his an underrated player and does not seem to get any credit whatsoever, unlike flavours of the month.
  10. Once again I think we will be to strong for Boro. I watched most of their game against the Reds and even thought they got a great win I thought Albion actually played better against us than Boro did to beat Liverpool. Also they where pretty dire against Spurs, i'm saying 2-0 to us.
  11. Not at all Paul, just a little working out and a wonderful football knowledge
  12. Well done to both on winning the manager and player of the month awards, lets hope its not the kiss of death for Sunday.
  13. Romey, the MOM was not really the aim of the post. I was just pointing out that in some eyes he has been given MOM's when others have probably deserved them as he is flavour of the month. That is not withstanding that he would get my vote as player of the season and I don't think I have contradicted myself there, lol.
  14. Must congratulate Jamie on these posts. It is refreshing to hear honest, if sometimes tongue in cheek, answers. However i think that is acceptable as they are from honest football supporters. Well done and fair play :speak_cool: to all.
  15. I sense a theme on this forum regarding Phil Jagielka. There are many who will not have a word said about him and this can be weighed up with the number of votes he gets for Man of the Match. I will not argue with the fact that he has had a fantastic season and has been rock solid BUT, and yes lets have that BUT, it has been since his switch to centre half after 3 or 4 games in midfield at the start of the season, when to be honest he was so out of his depth. I know that is not his position, however all the same he could not perform there. The same can be said of his couple of right back appearances in the last two away games, especially last night at Blackburn where he probably had his worst game since August. Jagielkas distribution from open play is not the best and last night if some of his passes had been made by Hibbert or Neville, I suggest you would have heard the groans from Ewood. The lad has performed superbly at centre half (and apart from the silly mistake against Spain, he pulled Terry out of the shit, but the press won't have that) and should remain there, especially as we have Neville, Jacobsen and even Yobo who can fill the right back position when Hibbert is out. I hear calls on here for him to be Captain etc etc, well i think we should leave that well alone and let him get on with doing what he has been doing well without the added pressure. This post is not a rant or anything, in fact its recognition to a great Centre Half, against Jagielka because like most people I think he will be voted as our player of the season and that is because he has found his position and in my opinion there have not been many in the premiership this season better at Centre Half than him and that includes Terry, Ferdinand, Carragher amongst others.
  16. i forgot to add wycombe wanderers in number 6 and Invberness Caley etc might have longest name, enjoying this, might try a few more tomorrow. :thumbsup_still:
  17. 5 is West Brom, too late to think for others but 13 is Kanchelskis and 17 is Osbournes, 6 is Cowdenbeath , now im tired
  18. Cant have Wanderers Bill, Bolton and Wolverhampton.Doh i never read the question haha
  19. Thanks MikeO, I guess in hindsight it is a symbolic gesture to be able to vote for nobody, possibly in some ways the whole team should be able to get a vote as well. Maybe got up in the wrong mood, as I never got home for a pint last night, even though Blackburn is just down the road.
  20. I hate to be critical of Blues but does anyone here actually go to the game. I know we are all granted opinions but how can you give a man of the match to nobody, it just doesn't make sense. If you watch the game on the box or in some cases streaming it can give a distorted view of the game. The camera concentrates on the ball,as it should, and can often miss vital passages, often subtle, of play. For instance last night, as watching from the ground, you could see Lescott constantly covering Yobo, who appeared to be getting caught out on the wrong side of Roberts but this would have been missed from the cameras until Roberts actually got the ball. Cahill worked his socks off, Pienaar was industrious, which was required on a strangely quick pitch with tackles flying in, albeit without the much needed creativity. Neville shielded Rodwell, as the kid had his possibly worst game so far and Howard did all that was asked. Maybe you want the man who scores the 30 yarder or the guy who beats 5 men, get real guys it doesn't happen every game but there is always a man of the match. I await the negative responses with baited breath.
  21. What "Kanu" win if you get it right Bill?
  22. I think it will be the usual 4-4-1-1 line up. agreeing with Sprooly on the line up. as of recent games this is totally winnable. They really need to start picking up wins so they may feel the pressure more. Don't agree with the post that states Robinson and Pedersen are weak links, that will be a bonus for us if they are out. I can see it being scrappy, well it is a Fat Sam side, the prick moans about Cahill but had Davies, Nolan etc doing it at Bolton, 1-0 to us and lets hope we get back for a pint. Parking by The Golden Cup, if get there early enough.
  23. His first touch sometimes looks a little awkward, he appears to try to control the ball well away from his body which gives the defender time to nick the ball off him. His passess last week at Newcastle and today against West Brom often seemed underhit, hopefully it is through lack of playing time and that will improve omnce he gets match sharp. He does do a fair amount of running and closing down which maybe the Yak should take note of but on the whole i think Yak is a better forward all round but over time may prove otherwise. The two goals against Bolton should have brought about a fair amount of confidence, lets hope it wasn't a false dawn.
