i like ESPN+ but i have young kids so already have a disney+ subscription so ESPN+ is free for me (hulu too) :)  so just disney+ and netflix for me, got a friends login for HBO max i'm set, 31 dollars a month is all i'm on the hook for.

It's the damn Brit shows via Prime that are getting me! BritBox, Acorn, Masterpiece Theater... I do snag my oldest daughters Hulu, and youngest daughters Disney (basic) and they use my NF and Prime. I've been thinking about threatening to take them both off the car insurance or make them cover the streaming stuff. Wife says I can't do that.

    Dammit 🤣

Excuse the ignorance but why/how is the Peacock service restricted to a smaller screen?

I presume he was meaning via a streaming app (which you can put on TV) vs a cable channel directly from your cable provider.

My uneducated hunch, is NBCSN is being closed down to funnel money to Peacock. Greed/survivability, but the cord-cutters have flipped the cable subscription model on it's head.

Still, NBC did better than ESPN (who is bleeding money). They have the rights to the FA Cup (and league) the last couple years, and did not put a SINGLE match on their cable outlets - everything was via ESPN+. Every round was available, which was good, but I hate the way they (and NBC) are doing it. I get it, but I don't like it.  Instead of a $150 cable bill, at some point I'll have a $70 streaming service, and 10-12 $6/month subscriptions. It's  already to the point in the US that it seems my apps have apps.

I wonder if it’s like baseball where due to weather they can play year round unlike up north here.  Or the prevalence of Latino Americans who revere the game, probably both.

Could certainly be a factor. You would think it should apply somewhat to SoCal, AZ and SoFla as well? I believe there is a good bit of talent coming from/being developed in FL, but the current path does seem to routed through Texas to Europe.

Unfortunate for Delph people putting 2 and 2 together and wrongly coming up with 5 all over social media as well. You are doing the same.

I chose not to comment on the gyfi thread yesterday due to seriousness of the charge, and I am glad the post has now been locked to stop the temptation of tittle tattle. Lets not spread it on to other threads in the forum.

I think you may have misunderstood - I'm not adding anything together, I'm just wondering what in the world is going on, and hoping for all I am worth that none of this actually occurred, for the sake of any/all of our players, and the other parties that may be involved. And on a much less relevant matter, wondering how the distractions affect our pre-season, especially with the Florida Cup looking at risk as it is.

Suburban babysitter wow lol.  Texas seems to be where it’s at.  They are consistently putting out top talent

Nationwide all in all, yeah - but you are spot on about Texas. Chris Richards is an example, the CB who is at Bayren Munich is actually from B'Ham, AL but moved to Texas and got in with FC Dallas before BM came calling.

  6. While I would love to see us win it, I think any further wins are somewhat of a bonus.

Outside of a few names, half of this team I had to look up and wasn't familiar with since almost all of the European players returned to their clubs after the Confederation Cup for a short rest before their preseason starts.

This is actually a good opportunity for some of the smaller nations to win it, as they have most of the regular team. Not saying that we shouldn't be competing to win it, but we have an awful lot of young players playing together for the first time and some in difderent positions and while they are promising, they are just mostly very green internationally. This team is far closer to what our Olympic team should have looked like IMO, but there seems to be some pretty good young talent that could provide some good depth in the coming WC qualifiers.

  7. It was odd to me last week when I was visiting Panama, we got an update saying Panama had been moved from Level 3 Advisory (risky) to Level 4 - Do Not Travel by the US CDC/State Department, due to increase crime and Covid cases.

I'm reading about murders every day back home in Alabama, we have no mask restrictions in public anymore, and almost twice the deaths of Panama with a similar population, and a similar vax %.  And I'm in Panama, where the entire country still has a 10pm curfew, everyone wears a mask outside their home, I had my temp checked every door I entered probably 70 times in a week....and I'm told it's too dangerous to be here?? It's safer in Alabama healthwise. Safe to travel to Chicago? What unelected public official makes the decisions?

I'm just stunned that well over a year into this, those in charge are still so inconsistent and haven't seemed to learn shit. There is just too much political capital and money in this whole pandemic. Both sides of the isle are playing games with lives and money and I don't trust any of them. I got my vax, I wear a mask where I supposed to or personally choose to, but I swear this is going to be the biggest power/money grab of all time. That's not to say I think it's a hoax or anything crazy like that, but dammit man.

Sorry, rant over, I'll mumble under my mask.

I'm currently in a cabin in the woods about an hour and half south of the Canadian border, so I uh.....I won't be there.

Shame they're only down in FL, if they were somewhere in the northern half I might've ventured a trip!

I just got back from a week rambling 800 miles across Panama, and will do another 900 next weekend to Orlando and back. Ah well, do what ya gotta do! But I ain't doing shit in August!

In your post you were talking about Richarlison and Kean, so that's who I was referring to.

No one would have our deadwood. It's terrible.

No you're right, post was a little convoluted. Gonna be tough to raise money from players we would sell, as well as save money by cutting deadwood.

  10. It appears to me that about only clubs that are not in a money crunch from the start are EPL squads. That limits where we might be able to sell players, as well as who we would WANT to sell players to. I mean would we be will to sell a Richy or even a Moise to a rival we have to face and battle for table position?

Watching USA vs. Martinique and have to say I like the look of Hoppe. Yes, the opponent is weak, but he has been everywhere so far in the 1st half.

Dike is on 2 goals. He’s also looking legit.

I missed the game traveling, but from the highlights it appears the last half of Hoppe's season at Schalke wasn't a fluke. Dike I absolutely like, he is a big boy up top
