  1. The more I think about it the more I believe they convinced the PL to cancel on safety grounds, they tested all players and staff and 5 came back positive, so they should have been made to isolate and the rest of the squad and staff could carry on, the sceptic in me thinks they didn’t fancy playing us at this moment in time, we are the top form team in the league beating the top team’s in recent weeks, are they thinking we lose to Everton then get beat by Chelsea and Everton beat WHU we suddenly find ourselves 9 points behind Everton, I seriously wouldn’t put this sort of gamesmanship beyond Pep and City, or has the lockdown finally got the better of my imagination.
  2. I agree we should take all 3 points, my concern is we have a habit of showing up for the team’s in the top 6 yet fail to perform against the lesser team’s, we’ve fallen foul of that a couple of times already this season, we need to do what we did at Sheffield a lot more and win with scrappy football against the team’s below us.
  3. Was reading an article about glass eel supplier who’s business is going to the wall, he regrets voting leave saying “ if I knew my business and job would be lost I wouldn’t have voted leave” with a warning be careful what you wish for. I think a lot of people on here could have told him what he was Letting himself in for, I’m sorry his business is going to the wall but I have zero sympathy for him and anyone who suffers that voted leave, my compassion and sympathy goes to everyone who voted remain but will suffer because of the actions of the gullible fools who believed the clowns that run the leave campaign.
  4. That’s not good news mate, we have just been placed in the top tier for England happy new year
  5. I always hated watching Fowler in the Derby, he was right knob at Goodison always goading the crowd and over doing it, he was a local lad who got what the games meant to City, but I hated seeing him gloating and he new it got to us. The PL has been blessed with some brilliant players we’ve lucky enough to have seen them in the flesh, one player I always loved to watch was Bergkamp he use to just mesmerise me when he was in possession of the ball.
  6. Back onto the subject of tired players Richards on MOTD said you should always start a game with your best players even if they are tired, if you need to you can take them off after 60 minutes Wrighty and Linakar agreed. The reason this was mentioned was the team’s that rested more players faired worse than those that didn’t.
  7. This won’t be an easy game as some might think, Moyes is starting to get things right at WHU and he’s a past master and sending a team out to stop the opposition, as we have all witnessed with his time at Goodison. This won’t be pretty this will be a battle imo
  8. Good stats if he’s willing to come here and fight to get into the starting line up then he’s definitely got to be a serious contender.
  9. As Carlo ever mentioned him and was he a regular in his team
  10. Watching motd and it was said that due to Covid Sheffield could only name 7 subs and not the 9 allowed, I would like to know how many of Cities players tested negative and could they have fielded a team of 14-19 and allow the game to be played.
  11. Do you think that the foreign players would be registered with NHS GP’s or would they just use club and private Dr, could clubs eventually buy it on the open market through their private Doctors and surgeons credentials.
  12. That’s a bummer Bill keep well mate I’m sure that they will get you sorted sooner than later.
  13. After today’s record positive tests in the general public and the record tests of the other day in PL, I do fear the worst with the government making decisions that will impact football and put it back in lockdown. But we have to stop people from swamping our hospitals and putting our nurses and doctors under immense pressure, our NHS is apparently closer to breaking point than before the last lockdown.
  14. I agree, I also think what came out of the statement was the frustration of the manager and the players, they were obviously primed and ready for the battle which was to ensue, they haven’t breathed a sigh of relief, I believe they believed they had a better than good chance of winning the game due to the run they were on, they were up for it full of confidence and ready. Did City not fancy it I wouldn’t like to say, but no one but there manager will ever really know, and if Covid has spread uncontrolled through their camp the right and safest decision was made, even though our team are frustrated and disappointed it’s good to know that they were ready and wanted to play because they have complete faith in them selfs. Yes I think they did.
  15. Sounds like the Champagne region of France just because of the name you are paying an extra £15-£20 for there sparkling whites compared to other regions in Europe who’s wines are as equally as good and in some cases better.
  16. I don’t think it would be either we witnessed Holgate playing and shining in the MF a few seasons ago, and Godfrey has proved to be very versatile playing in 3 positions so far and excelling as a LB which would not have been expected so why not in MF if the occasion arose.
  17. I wouldn’t disagree with your position and the hours you’re working, but not a football player who is asked very infrequently to play 90 minutes of football 2-3 times in 7 days.
  18. So what happened to you is a good comparison of asking a football player not to play 90 minutes of football every 2-3 days for 2 or 3 weeks because it could risk his health, be honest Matt your burn out was more mental than physical with your work, which does make you tired in different ways, trust me Matt I’ve worked my fucking arse of for years 7 days a week for years on end, doing the physical work then going to the office till 9 -10:00 at night pricing jobs invoices paying suppliers and lads wages, and every time it got hard and there were many times, I had a word with myself which was man up because if you don’t do it nobody else is here to do it for you, and that worked for me I’m here to tell the tale and I’m very successful at what I do. Now I’m not stupid and I know we all have different make ups and react to pressure’s of the world differently and our coping mechanisms are different, but don’t tell me that a football player who has to do very little in his life because the club and his personal managers run his life for him, can’t play 2-3 games in a week because he’s tired that’s a insult to every nurse surgeon junior Dr care worker that are doing 50-60 hours a week. edit and Policemen as well go from what our residential Bobby has said concerning his work load.
  19. Fuck me get real we’re taking about people who are being asked to play 90 minutes of football every 2-3 days for a short period.
  20. United take a day off mate your obviously tired.
  21. Mate I’m self employed since I was 17 I’ve never had a day off because I was tired, also very rarely sick days, not like you wussy's on the cards that go sick because they stubbed there toe or sneezed more than twice in a row, when you work for yourself you go to work no matter how your feeling because there’s no one going to pay you if don’t, you want to try it one day it might make a man of you then you might realise being tired isn’t an injury or illness.
  22. No it doesn’t tiredness is not an excuse to not go and do your job, no matter what you do, I’m not playing to day because I’m tired if any player said that to me, I’d tell to fuck off and come back when they’ve maned up.
