  1. They dont make any difference sat in the stands Shukes.................As Ive just quoted you in another thread. We have the worst defence in the league and we cant score goals. What are you watching??? How bad does it have to get? Southampton couldnt score all season and theyve just banged 4 past us. Im glad you arent running the club, as you would just allow this mess to continue thinking that we are still "good enough".....Well this aint good enough for me. Nowhere near.
  2. We'll agree to disagree. Im shocked at what you are seeing, to think we are good enough to take 28 points right now. It is 60 years since we have conceded this amount of goals at this time of the season. We have the worst defence in the league and we cant score goals. Is that good enough???? Do you see signs of improvement??? If you have answered yes to those questions, id be worried..........
  3. So no-one is in a relegation fight then because of the time of year??? We need to fight for points now because the games like West Ham at home could be crucial come the end of the year. Just because it is November, doesn't make the game worth any less. Its still a huge 3 points for either team.
  4. And on what evidence do you see that we can turn this form around? "If we keep this form up?" Well until we get a new manager it is evident we are getting worse. So if you were in charge what would you do? Leave it be until January? Players coming back? You expect a few players who have been out for 12 months to come back and change the team? We dont even know if they will be at the level they were. By all accounts there are also a shit load of games prior to them even being considered. If your plan is to ride it out until Coleman, Bolasie, Barkley and Funes Mori come back then I'm glad you;re not in charge. People need to use their eyes and judge on what they see on the pitch. Not look at stats, how far we are away from 8th and all this bollocks as that just provides false hope. We are getting turned over right now by shit teams..........
  5. I couldnt agree more. As I posted in another thread. This delusional nature amongst Everton fans and the Board is costing us. Everyone thinks that there are easy winnable games in the Premier League. There isn't. I can honestly say that I dont think we have deserved to win any game this season. We have been lucky against Stoke, Bournemouth and Watford. Not one fan could have come away from those games thinking a thoroughly deserved 3 points??? We are being comprehensively beaten and we need a firefighter to come in. Everybody knew that we would get beat by Southampton. They have been shocking all season yet they put 4 past us.
  6. I was all for getting Silva but with every Watford win and Everton this is less likely...The obvious candidate is available and wants the job. We need to get Big Sam in now. There can be no snobbery from our fans in who we want as the next manager. We have no God given right to be in this league and we are no better than any of the other teams who have gone down, Villa, Leeds, Sunderland. We need someone to come in and sort this mess out...........
  7. Why are people saying that we aren't in a relegation fight? Are people watching a different game to me? We are not just losing games. We're getting smashed and the only points we have picked up this season have arguably been very fortunate. Without doubt, right now, we are in the worst 3 sides in the league. Every other club below us has ways of playing in order to be effective. Palace are a great example of this. I dont actually think they will go down as the tools are there for all to see. We have no plan A or plan B. Zero plan and no way of looking like we can win any games without someone getting sent off or some lucky moments. Have we deserved to win any game this season??? The deluded nature of some our fans right now is mirrored by this board. We need Big Sam to get us out of this mess and stay in this league make no mistake. The same people who don't think we are in a relegation fight are probably the same people that wanted Unsworth to keep the gig until the end of the season.........or christ, even longer......... This poor blind faith and lack of foresight is why we have missed out on weeks of searching for a new manager
  8. There have to be players we have lined up in January. That's Walsh's job supposedly. We failed towards the end of the transfer market in our pursuits for two positions and we must have been working on something. I have no idea what players we could attract or who is available but if my full time job was scouting and recruiting players a la Walsh, I would have a list as long as your arm.
  9. This guy has got away with murder. Whatever his role is, he's failing.
  10. People have been saying it will be OK with these apparent easier fixtures coming up. Theyre watching a different game to me. We are 2-0 down before we even start. We cant have him in charge Sunday. We need to break the bank for Silva or get someone else in asap.
  11. I actually think we could be getting worse defensively under Unsworth. The amount of goals we are shipping is embarrassing. We need to end the "Unsworth til the end of the season" comments now. We will 100% go down with this guy in charge. He has no experience and every game that passes is throwing points away. We have no organisation and cant even do the basics. Where are we going to get 28 points from.......seriously
  12. I think Pickford will be a top keeper. I also think he's been, for the majority, good this season. I'm not jumping on the bandwagon of finished article yet though. He cost us two goals on Saturday for my liking. They weren't all down to just him but for both goals he was poor. He's actually made a few mistakes this season but he certainly isn't the problem. We are clinging on to the hope that at least we did some good business in the summer...............
  13. The first thing that the manager should do when taking over a side that is leaking goals is shore up the defence. Unfortunately, we have conceded at least 2 goals in every one of Unsworth's games. We leaked two goals against a Palace side that is struggling to score, and that was with 2 defensive midfielders. Granted we hardly have Franco Baresi at the back, but a good manager would come in and get things tighter. I dont see any improvement in our defence or shape since Unsworth has come in.
  14. I agree. I like Silva and wanted him from the start but didn't think it was possible due to his short spell so far at Watford. For me, Hull were dead and buried last year but he did such a good job to even get them close to getting out of it, all whilst playing decent football. That was his first job too in English football. He can only improve and he has already made Watford a much better side than last year. He looks like he has an eye for a player too (and we need that right now!). I don't think he could have done much more since being in English football and he is making a good reputation for himself and looks like the top up and coming manager in the league. His moves have been gradual progression and we are definitely the next step for him.
  15. Frankly, I dont really give a shit about Palace, I just care about how we are playing. And we were absolutely terd on Saturday. If you want to argue that it's OK to play shite because Chelsea were also shite a few weeks back then that's up to you
  16. Because that's what good Managers do Bill. They don't just get the best out of players, they improve them as footballers. At this moment in time, I'm seeing players under performing. Would it surprise you if a new manager came in and we saw Sigurdsson reproduce his Swansea form? Schneiderlin reproduce last season's form? Keane reproduce Burnley's form? Sandro maybe spark into life? Klaassen even? Granted I'm asking a lot but if we got a new manager in and we got some of those things happening, we would improve immensely. If we go by your quote then we will never improve and we should have just stuck with Koeman.
  17. I like Unsworth as everyone does for obvious reasons. However, I get the feeling if big Sam had managed the last 5 games and we would have had the same performances, he would be getting slated. If you feel we will be finishing top 10, you must rate the squad at his disposal. I know it takes time for a manager to instill his own methods but I would expect better basics from our side. We made Palace look like world beaters that second half and they're bottom of the table, being managed by Roy Hodgson for good measure. So if we are going to finish top 10, we need to improve so drastically that for most, a new manager is what is needed. Those performances will have us fighting for relegation. I understand your optimism but his numerous formations in 5 games, numerous team selections and simply by not even having Vlasic in the squad is enough for me to say he is not at the level required. Granted he's had tough games, but the performances have been absolutely dreadful. The first 3 games we were diabolical and the last two, we all know how lucky we have been to get something out those games. But Christ, did we need those points!!!
  18. It must have surely, although when interviewed on international duty, he didn’t divulge much or insinuate there had been a falling out. He just said he wasn’t being picked. I mean, if we’re winning, or improving then I’m not really bothered but effort aside, we’re not......and we are in a relegation fight. We need our best players playing
  19. If Silva doesn’t materialise quickly and it looks like we have to wait, we are in trouble. I just don’t expect us to win any game right now. We concede at least two every game and lack any firepower. It’s a recipe for relegation. We’ve just picked up 4 lucky points which could have easily been zilch. I’d love Silva hope we get him
  20. Just why isn’t he playing vlasic? Bizarre. David prentice openly admits that he hasn’t been asked the question by any of the echo journalists. If unsworth wasn’t so well liked he’d be getting slammed by the media and fans for this decision
  21. OK, I understand. Ill give him the credit for making the subs. It's just that in the grand scheme of game management at 2-0 down with half an hour to go I don't think he had any other options, if you get what I mean. I really hope I'm wrong about Unsworth and he keeps us up comfortably. Unsworth isn't the problem in all of this. He's just going to get the criticism if things dont go well in the next month or two and he's still in charge. We can't seem to attract the manager we want right now and we are left in limbo with a January transfer window approaching. An interim appointment of David Unsworth would be slightly defeatist in our quest for a new manager. It also puts Unsworth under unnecessary huge pressure of which he has no experience. I really hope it doesn't damage his quest for a new position elsewhere if things don't go well. I think right now would be a great time for Championship clubs to be looking at him, now he has some experience at Everton and allowing him to prove what he says he is. We have been promised huge investment and a project to break us into the top 4. This isn't the time to blood novice managers, it's the time for us to show our ambition and put Everton on the European map again. We thought we were getting there at the start of the season. One good appointment again and investment in January and we are back there. It look slike we could be waiting until the Summer though and that, as I said, puts huge pressure on Unsworth....
  22. http://www.liverpoolecho.co.uk/sport/football/football-news/everton-need-next-mauricio-pochettino-13873877 Great article
  23. The Niasse goal, which got us back in it was a huge goalkeeping error. And prior to that we were getting smashed 2-0 and they had missed a sitter (Charlison). You're crediting a manager with making subs when we are 2-0 down? Really???? And he brought on attacking players??? When we are 2-0 down??? Wow! Please sense the sarcasm.......
  24. Lets be realistic here. We got back into that game with a huge error by their reserve goalkeeper and we were dreadful for most part of that game. It was a freak game and giving Unsworth credit for that when so many things went in our favour is foolish. His record is 3 losses and a freak win from 4 and apart from effort, I have seen no improvement in our defence or chances created. Everyone says he knows the players and this and that, so he has an advantage but he has played different players and formations every game. And deployed people in several different positions. I think it's a huge gamble for him to get the job until the end of the season. You may as well say to him, we'll let you keep hold of it until the end of the season but if we lose a couple on the spin, were getting Big Sam in. I hope not, but that's likely to happen.
