  1. If he matched him on that occassion then as far as i'm concerned he is extremely fast. Its not like Bale wasn't running flat out - he was. Besic was able to keep up to the extent that he was able to stay with him and although Bale was slightly quicker Besic was able to get a good tackle in. Not many players could do that to say the least.
  2. I take it you never watched the game? Just revelled in some OTT criticism. Most of it off Rangers fans who hate him for leaving.
  3. Rooney can fuck off with his free kicks. Keeper should have thrown his cap on it. He's no where near good enough to be taking them. Gutted he scored it, cos he will insist on more soft floaty efforts.
  4. Watched the highlights, I actually think he played well. Yes he missed a couple that he may have done better with but the critcism is probably coming from rangers fans. OTT. His link up play was very good.
  5. Oh ffs, wind your neck in. The lad may as well be sinking 10 pints before a game the way he's playing. Origi was picked ahead of him for the qualifier based on form. Maybe we should add "never went to juventus" and "teetotal" to the "makes some runs and therefore creates space". You would think this run of form is a shock. To me it's not, he's been pretty shite since January after defenders started marking him tight and not allowing him to turn. But hey, he says he loves Everton so thats good enough. Maybe someone should tell McGeady to say this to get people off his back. Btw where did I say RM not drinking is admirable? My last few comments regarding Martinez have not been positive at all. I try not to nail my colours to the mast, Everton is what I support, not individuals.
  6. Ironically Gary Neville is one of those in the game known for having a lash. You always do get a little scrawny sod with a 3rd leg!
  7. Yeah, he is isn't he Brett. Without his shittyness we would be bottom of the league.
  8. He wasn't as quick but certainly quick enough to keep up and get a great tackle in. Probably the quickest at the club based on what I seen. Rapid.
  9. It's bad, 6ft plus 17st meat heat knocks a smaller bloke out and punches him whilst he's unconscious on the floor.
  10. See Ben Flowers assault in the super league final? Absolutely horrific. Should get time for that.
  11. He reminds me of a lad who used to play on our team, 6ft 4,.built like a tank. Unbelievable how easy it was to knock him off the ball. Garbage in the air but not bad in front of goal. He had really good games if defenders shit themselves at the sight of him. If they didn't care and got stuck into him he was ineffective. I wouldn't mind seeing long or mcaleny getting game time.
  12. I seen the issues that I'm highlighting quite quickly if I'm honest. The same way I identified that when Michael Owens hamstrings had gone then so would the goals. It's all very well saying spending £28m is a statement of intent, but unless you have another £50m to spend on the calibre of players that you are said to be attracting then what's the point? For me I would have gone for Bony as an all round player or welbeck as a cheaper less risk signing. But hey ho.
  13. Where do I want it to go? I want to be able to discuss the issue at large which is that we have a £28m asset who is not performing. For some reason people are trying to find one ray of sunshine to make it all "not so much of a problem". Listen, I put all my chips on Martinez as at last year - if I'm honest I was wrong to do so as he is showing behaviours and weaknesses that I did not expect to see. I'm fine to do that - it doesn't make me an idiot for doing so. It would make me more of an idiot to blatently ignore these issues that have come to light. For some reason people predicted that Lukaku was going to be a "beast" (cos he looked like predator and was a 6ft 4 unit) - he hasn't shown that but for some reason we are meant to appreciate his clever runs, hard work for 45 minutes, or blame the other players for not putting it on a plate for him. Absolute nonsense and an insult anyones intelligence. If you bought a £1000 suit and it didn't fit and you had thrown away the receipt would you walk around telling everyone that it fits lovely just because you have no other option but to wear it? Personally I would keep quiet, get it adjusted and hope it fits afterwards.
  14. Sky plus is awesome. If you are saying he's tired because of how far he ran in the 45 minutes then my question to you is "why is he so unfit and lacking in stamina" - why have we yet to see a full 90 minutes shift from him without looking like he's competing in a race across the sahara desert after 60 minutes? Is it the same reason that WBA kept him as an impact sub?
  15. Service as in the ball passed to him? I'm pretty sure I seen the ball passed to him on many occassions - I don't expect him to control it and dribble past 5 men and score. I do at least expect him to control it and find a team mate and make a run off the shoulder - that I did not see. Rom is knackered after 45 minutes - why? We can dilute expectations as the season draws on if that suits? Or we can be brutally honest and face the fear of signing a player who may not evolve his game in order to be worth what we paid for him.
  16. Rooney just looks ridiculous now. His hair, the botox, the need to take all free kicks. His ego has run away with him at the time that his ability has declined. Welbeck and Sturridge is the future in that forward line - pace, athleticism. Rooney does not deserve to beat Charltons record IMO.
  17. The throttle on Freund was actually funny - he had already been given his marching orders and lets be honest Freund deserved it for all his play acting and whining. The one thing I will say about Dunc is that he never once threw in a disgusting career ending tackle that I can remember. Yes he got some really daft cards, but all in all its who he was. I remember the way he played as an auxillary defender when gravesen had been sent off in Moyes first game and dominated. He was an icon for standing up for the team when many were just going through the motions and being bullied. If he was Alan Shearer he would have had half the red cards he did. Shearer boots lennon in the face - nothing. Ferguson prods Mcstay in the face with forehead - 3 months in barlinnie.
  18. Reading his book at the moment. Very intriguing character - you just can't help but like him. The fact that someone had to go out and research him makes it all that more interesting. Of the incidents that led to his prison term I don't actually hold him accountable - and I feel that he was very unlucky. The fisherman who he flattened had it coming to him - he tried to goad Ferguson in one bar, he left and went into another where the fisherman and his mates followed them - set on Duncs mate - Dunc basically knocked the lad spark out. The lad in the taxi queue with crutches? Had been goading Ferguson before the night he hit him. On the said night, the lad insulted Fergusons girlfriend and used his crutches in a threatening manner. You can't help but admire the way he stood up to Jim Mclean a vile bully of a manager at Dundee United. You seen what he was all about when he hit a TV reporter on live TV. Dunc just didn't stand any messing, simple as that. Thug? Not really, did he go about bullying people? On the contrary, kids used to try and bully him because he was very quiet as a young lad. By all accounts his dad is/was a right handful - proper tough.
  19. Aside his goal, what was most important was the way his runs dragged 3 of the 8 San Marino defenders out of position... 7 goals in last 8 games for club and country.
  20. But thats the problem he ain't Lebron James - he's more Kyrie irving. He just ain't that good!
  21. Giving Rom plaudits for making runs is like giving an A-Level student a mark for spelling their name correctly - its part of the role! There are always 2 centre halves, if he drops one goes with - he's not doubled up on at all, Its not because its Rom that there is space - it is bog standard centre forward play that a striker moves and makes runs, from there it is up to the team mates to exploit any space. Rom was marked by one player against Man United - McNair. Can you explain why McNair a 19 year old novice had him in his pocket?
  22. Yeah, he is very clinical, he takes his shots nice and early within the area and doesn't allow the keeper to set his feet. I'm not worried about that side of his game. His long shooting is a bit erratic. The problem is that penalty area specialists can be bought alot cheaper than £28m.
  23. Its not like teams double up on Rom - people are really starting to look for anything remotely positive in order to suppress the real concerns that they should have over the lad. He is not getting special attention - defenders like I said at the end of last year have identified that to nullify his threat you get in tight to him as his poor touch and balance allows you a chance to nick the ball. I have seen examples of this game after game. Williams had him in his pocket as did Wes Morgan for Leicester - they were centre halves. Moreno who is a full back marked him tight and nicked the ball of him numerous times. There really is nothing much that he is contributing to the all round play within the team - I'm afraid if anything attacks are breaking down when the ball gets hit to him. Does it make you feel better about Rom if you compare Naismiths touch to his? It really doesn't for me because Nais even if he does the occassional blooper is mentally strong enough to keep looking, keep working, making the runs, chase lost causes and when that hard work pays off he finds the net. There is a massive difference in hunger between the two, there is a massive difference in attitude and agression. Rom could learn so much from this lad.
