  1. He's a big lad, he will need games to get up to speed. Pain in the arse.
  2. It's getting ridiculous. So Ince and co believe that the game that made them multi millionaires due to their ability as a football player is going to blatantly ignore any element of talent at management level based on the colour of their skin?! They have been given a chance! Let's be honest, the likes of Garth crooks, Clarke Carlisle regularly appear on TV providing punditry. If they were white they would not be seen on screen again given how poor they really are. Race and colour is not an issue, if it was I wouldn't follow the game. Yes, you get dick heads in the crowd, that's a problem with society not football. Do I believe that their are racist bigots in the corridors of the fa? Absolutely, can't stand that old boys network. However club chairman aren't stupid, they want the right person to spend their money and run the team. Not blow it on some idiot because he is white.
  3. 86% pass completion, 3 goals, 3 chances created. 6 dribble completions. He terrorized them. I thought it was an excellent performance, he will get better and is so suited to their fast paced play. Wenger has signed the type of striker he's needed for a while. His pace was really evident last night and he seems to be much stronger.
  4. I need to mute it, can't stand Carlisle, he's a prick.
  5. Theres a lot to be said for a footballer meeting a "girl next door" - instead many go into a bar being all hyped up on celebrity and really they do not know who's toes they are treading on.
  6. Watched welbeck tonight. Excellent. Really showed what he is capable of in a central role. Complete performance really. Linked up very well, intelligent runs and very very good finishes. As I said earlier, he will prove to be a very good signing. Liverpool don't look the same side without Suarez.
  7. Reminds me of his comment about playing football at Christmas.... Let me find it 'While u guys around the world are out celebrating New Year spare a thought for me please...I'll be in the team hotel sleeping!! #LoveTheGame.
  8. Downloaded:- "in search of Duncan Ferguson, the life and crimes of a footballing enigma" I'll let you know how I find it.
  9. It really isn't. Yeah you can sharpen it, but you can't just learn it. He actually needs to learn how to control it. He has a static chest or foot, he doesn't have the coordination to cushion the thing. It's not even average, it's poor and I mean poor. Ronaldos improved from 22 onwards didn't he? Absolutely. What did he improve on? Controlling a football??? No, not at all. He had acquired all the skills which was why he was called a show pony, He learned how to make better decisions, to improve his physical athleticism enabling him to hit the ball harder. His control was already there. Glenn hoddle had it spot on, he said young players are being thrown into games too early with focus on physical attributes. He used a wall to hit left foot and right foot and get instant control, Alan ball did the same. Sorry but if you are waiting for Rom to learn good control you are gonna wait a long time.
  10. Yep, I was being sarcastic. We do need that font.
  11. 53 mph from 25 yards. I'm actually going to say that I think he could have saved it, should have? Not really. He had full sight of it and for me if he gets his weight onto his left side quick enough he stood a good chance of tipping it over. He can't be blamed for not saving it but I have seen them saved.
  12. He's only 22, imagine how good his control is going to be in 3 years, he will be amazing.
  13. PSG 3 Barca 1. Roma look very solid and quick against man city. Managed to pick up gastroenteritis so watching it in bed feeling sorry for myself. It's going round apparently.
  14. Does anyone think the female lineswoman is better equipped to do the line versus a bloke who can't get a break in the game. Or the female snooker referee? I wonder what Clarke Carlisles point is on this? Need I ask.
  15. It's been said Baines doesn't actually like football, he's just very good at it.
  16. Totally against this Rooney rule, absolute nonsense. How many black potential managers have done their badges? The answer is not many. Les Ferdinand and Jason Lee even said so. If 5 black qualified managers applied for a job and they gave it to an under qualified white manager I would say there is an issue. Till then take the frigging badges and stop whinging. I work in recruitment and look at diversity very seriously from a gender, disability, sexuality, race and colour perspective. The problem is when people start looking for discrimination that really isn't there. On the occassions where we have seen black managers get a shot the likes of Barnes, ince, tigana, and gullit have come up short. I abhor discrimination but I really can't stand it when an issue is being raised that clearly points to a lack of black managers taking the qualifications they need to apply.
  17. I think so too. They will hate him up there, they demand Barcelona type football for some reason. He is the right man to sort the players out and get them results.
  18. Point being the ability to stop shots is similar to that of controlling a football. It's either there or its not.
  19. Ok take Southall. Was he the goalkeeper he ended up being at 21? No. Was he an unbelievable shot stopper? Yes. As he got older his positioning improved. Lukaku can't control a ball, it's unlikely to get much better.
