Away supporters must play a part in the figures!
If the couple of thousand empty seats were offering an excellent view would we fill them, if we move to a bigger stadium could we fill it !
My last trip to Goodison was a cramped poorly positioned seat, I wish I could do it more often.

Everton 3 Arsenal 1.
Lukaku.
-
.
When he gets angry he does things, maybe that's the problem... Maybe the service has been good too often.
At last !
The service to Lukaku has been 'too' good. Why the fuck couldn't we all see that .
There's not too much wrong with the lad, except he is a lad.He could do better.........so could Barkley, Mirallas, Gerry, Coleman, Kone, Baines, Stones, Barry, Jags...............Martinez, etc, etc!
I'd say pound for pound Lukakus done pretty well.
I think if the season ended today, he'd be Evertons player of the season!........must be the brilliant service he's been getting.
-
His shot accuracy of 58% says that he is getting chances.
What's shot accuracy got to do with well created chances from his team mates.!
There's no relationship between how many shots you have, on or off target and how many chances have been created for you.
Baines may have a shot accuracy of 70%, so he can run with the ball, beat a couple of players and get his sot on target.Doesn't mean his team mates are creating chances for him.
Before Roms 'wonder' goal the thoughts of the 'pundits' was that his service was poor, and that the sideways, backwards passing style that Martinez favours doesn't really do much for a striker trying to find space and make runs.
As a striker you can make a run with the ball advancing nicely down the wing or even through the middle, to find a second or two latter it's back with Jags !!
Before Rom took it on himself to 'have a go', what had we created during the match ?
-
I think a few good strikers would get a good return in this side given an extended run as lone striker. We are set up for strikers to flourish.
WHAT!........The pundits at the Chelsea game were saying before Lukakus first goal he wasn't getting decent service, in fact we were showing signs of sideways/backwards football that Martinez is so good at.
" set up for strikers to flourish" your having a laugh! last season and chuncks of this some of the service to Lukaku has been criminal.
We are improving, but half of gerrys crosses don't beat the first man, Mirallas can be greedy (if he ever gets a game), Barkley goes to pieces if there are two options open, we play the ball down the wings to the edge of the penalty area then play back to the half way line again and we struggle to get decent corners in.
Lukaku must wonder what the fucks going on some days........saying that the lads done good........"in a team set up for strikers to flourish" :dont know:
If Barkley improves his final ball, the wingers get the crosses in, and we stop going sideways.........oh, and Lukaku actually strikes his penalties correctly, well he's going to be a 30 goal a season man, every season.

His goal was outstanding, a class above.
Over the full 90 Coleman was solid, type of professional performance we've been missing.
Yes, it was a really good perfornance from Coleman, pushed Lukaku all the way, and if not for that first goal would have taken mom easily.
-
No. I expect him to muscle players off the ball. I don't expect that he thought cahill would buy the feint. The finish was exceptional as he was almost off balance.
Did you have cash on him today?
I had him as first goascorer and a couple of bets with Draw half time/Everton full time.Happy days, but the win is moe important than the money.
On the subject of money, hope the new owner got a taste of Everton today and what a real football club is about.
-
Disagree entirely. That match makes me want Michael Oliver to referee every Everton match forever on. Very fair, let a lot go but maintained control of what could have been an incredibly testy contest.
Yep, thought the ref did well today.
-
Just watched Lukaku's goal again. The best part of it was the finish. Many will disagree but it really was a good finish. He let cahill tie himself up to get an opening but as he proved in the second goal, in the 18 yard box he's very very good.
Many will disagree ? why!
Maybe you mean most will think his run, strenghth, vision etc were the best part of the goal !
Starved of service for most of the game, kept his focus and won me lots of money, good boy Rom!
-
Lukaku, was holding the ball up well 1st half, and was starved of decent service for most of the game........followed by two brilliant goals.
Thought Coleman and Lenon were also very good.
-
A new manager.
Let Martinez move on to be a Director of Football or some shit like that. Then he can buy decent players while we have a manager who can actually coach them.
Exactly, having a great squad of players is one thing........you know the rest.
He has dropped Stones and Howard of late, so maybe he's developing, I think we probably have to take a risk with him, scares me after games like today, but I fear we could do worse. If Barkley had smashed home the pen and the West ham goalkeeper hadn't got lucky with his save from Lukaku, then a 4-0 win with 10 men would have looked a great result.
-
Dominated for all but 15mins today, with 10 men at times, against one of the few teams to recently beat Spurs......this really could have been our season.I made a prediction of a 2-1 win to West Ham half an hour before kick off, just felt we have it in us to lose like this.It is our best squad since the mid 80's, we should be above West Ham.
So we finish mid-table, Martinez get's a mssive 'war chest', sure he has contacts, sure he can attract some good players (who can't with offers of big wages).
Ok Martinez has proved he can drop Stones and Howard, that's a start, now he has to develop othe aspects of his game.......or he will not be the man to give the big bucks to.
-
Gave it to Rom, one shit penalty and a lucky ankle from the WHU goalkeeper, doesn't change the fact that he had a good game, better than the rest, who other than Lennon no one stood out.
-
Can't blame rom for this guys if you're going to point fingers do it to the obvious one.
Who is that!
-
Rom's not our best penalty taker, Ross is better and should have put this game to bed.
-
Great move lads, to hold and beat West Ham with 10 men will be an excellent result.
-
Easily the better team, great goal from Rom, let's don't blow this........finish them.
-
Everton 1 West Ham 2.
Barkley.

Lost to West Ham in the Cup last year.
And in the Premier league in 2007, 2005, 2002 and 1998. When we played them in 1996 we beat them so actually you're a lot out .
(We also lost to Burnley in 2009, aside from the Villa games Haf mentioned )
Or the data .
........thought I might catch one........ I got two.
-
Lost to villa a few times
Wasn't really being too serious about the date !
-
Haven't lost to a team that play in claret and blue since 1996......might be a little bit out on that one !
Anyway Lukaku WILL score, so we only need to keep a clean sheet to win.
After the away game my mate (hammers fan) got really uptight about the McCarthy tackle, have to admit I had no idea how good Payet was, mate seemed to think that with him West Ham had the chance of a good season, begining to see what he meant, the bloke is real class, he is the one to stop.

Villa 1 Everton 3.
Lukaku.

If we can't have hypothetical discussions (what would have been if.....what will happen if.....what if we sign 'x'.....we should have signed 'y') then we might as well just shut the place down and talk to our wives or get a social life. Or a hobby.
Can't see much wrong with having a social life, hobbies................not sure about the talking to the wife bit!
The present Everton situation is baffling enough, without 'Hypothetical'.
So Moyes 'might' have loned Stones out......then again he might not!.......ok, I'm starting to see the attraction.
-
It's amazing how people are pre-guessing what Moyes would or would not have done in any given situation.Even things he's done in the past are no indication as to what he would do now with certain players.Just fucking incredable!

Sadly, I don't think Everton will match his ambition.
I'd say on our day, with Martinez leaving his ego in the changing room, we are a top 4 team.Just think Rom's probably got itchy feet and greedy agent.
If he was playing up front for Leicester City and they won the prem and qualified for champions league, I can still imagin he'd be looking for a move.
Hope I'm wrong and that we finish the season strongly, he get's offered a new contract and goes on to become a regular 30 goal a season player. At the same time Barkley and Stones become the players everyone expects and we buy well.......and take Rom and company into the top 4.
