  1. This is Everton, we will let him finish the season and sack him after the last game. I imagine, hope, prey that a replacement who is not Moyes, Hughes, O'Niell has been approached and can take over asap.

The fact that nobody from the board has come out and backed him speaks volumes, to quote General Browning their "silence is thunderous"

If it were a straight choice between Martinez staying or Moyes coming back.......I'd take Moyes.

  2. Loving the Leicester fans wanting to share the glory with their team, who can blame them, oh to be in their shoes.

Can't help lads, only go to home games, and that's a 500 mile round trip.My Dad was a Leicester fan, when every Leicester players name seemed to start with a 'W'.

He's been gone 25 years now, but boy would he have loved what you boys have done.

I've been really dissapointed with our season and some of our football.........watching Leicester take the piss out of the 'big spenders' has been my highlight of the season.

    Thanks!

  3. Girls girls girls...stop the bitching during games. Watch the game.

Boring half. We are lucky not to be behind. Too easy at the back for Soton.

Pleased with Gibson. Also pleased with Mirrallas. We are all ok just need a little bit more.

Surely Niasse has something to offer?

Can we bitch at half time !

Or do we have to sit and stroke the dog.........woof!

  4. That's kinda like moaning about the Ford mondeo you are driving because your ferrari has been breaking down...

I actually think he's been ok... he's been isolated, the team aren't playing to his strengths,

Kone, 'isolated'.......what like Lukaku spends most of his time!!..........'the team aren't playing to his strengths'.........pretty much how they do with Lukaku !!

The whole display has as usual (from the team) been poor........shall we blame the center forward!.......as you do with Lukaku!

Get your head out of your arse.

  5. Still puzzles me why someone would actively go to such extent to try and make an important player look like shit. Arguably the best player this club has seen since Rooney. One would think, just enjoy the moment before he's gone instead of depriving yourself of the joy.

Pretty much says it all !

Best since Rooney, I wonder who actually is the best player to pull on a Blue shirt since he left. Our three young lads have the 'potential', but thay are not there yet.

  6.

    The Earth isn't flat ?

It's pretty fucking flat in Norfolk.

It certainly is a funny thread.......Some people think Lukaku has done pretty well in an underachieving team and is full of promise.....whilst others think he hasn't really done that well and is flawed as a striker ie can't control a ball and doesn't do enough !

Oh well, guess his price tag of £55/60million says something.........whilst offers in the region of £25/30million might tell us otherwise.

Next season will be a massive one in the history of Everton FC.

  7.

All in all he's a decent centre forward, nothing to get over excited about, will he get any better ? Probably but at the moment he isn't a world beater.

A starting price between £50/60 million tells me, he's probably a bit more than a 'decent' centre forward.......mind you what do people who've had a life time in the football business know!

Look at Everton's other 'youngsters' Barkley and Stones, not exactly pulling up any trees at the moment, is Martinez the man to nurture young talent of this quality.

All three Lukaku, Stones and Barkley are loaded with potential, that's what the the big wads are being waved at.

Barkley really isn't moving forward, are the Everton coaching staff up to the task.

  8.

    My assessment of him is:-

"on his day" he is unplayable - unfortunately those days are few and far between. He is far too inconsistent in his quality.

He is a natural goal scorer - in and around the box and one on one - very very good

He is prone to bouts of frustrating laziness and doesn't work for the team enough

Technically he isn't very strong, his touch whilst better is still hit and miss

He doesn't use his athleticism and apparent strength any where near as much as he should

    So that's your assessment,

Good job some of the best football brains in the business don't see things your way.!

£50/60million says they have probably a better knowledge of 'potential'.

The article from from Chalkpie's post.

Hard to disagree with these lads. All seem to say what most of us are saying....

It's all well and good you posting examples of people talking sence.............but it's still very naughty of Rom to think he can have his own mind and say what he thinks..........maybe though he feels Evertonians are more likely to be fair minded like the ones who's comment's you posted and not like the rs who send death treats to your family and threaten to burn your house down.Maybe he'd keep his mouth shut if that was likely to happen.

In want of a bigger club/trophies the likes of Torres, Alonso, Masherano and Glen Johnson all jumped ship, the rs's massive wage structure couldn't hold them, and Saurez only stayed because he was treated like a hero when accused of racisim and biting, also he was still playing for a team who had the chance of top 4.

Gerrard !.....everyone seems to know he would have left had it not been for various threats.......is that how we want Everton to hold onto their players.

I want Lukaku to stay, he probably wouldn't be asking to leave Leicester City, probably says alot!

  10.

it seems their manager knows what he's doing. A good honest footballer but for me not a top half player.

It pains me to say this but Mr McCarthy may well be viewed in the same way unless he starts bringing something to the party. As a defensive midfielder he is very very good, but for me he has been lacking in that area somewhat and is not "leading" the team... something I thought he would do.

2 years ago he was player of the year, this last two seasons he has had smatterings of very good games along with many "I'm doing my job" performances.

With us having this new money in the club, the likes of McCarthy need to step up and prove they can be part of a team that wins things. He is very good value at the £13m we paid for him - but if he isn't going to at least try and evolve as a box to box midfielder, something he should be then I would sell for the £20m+ that spurs were looking to spend.

I think after this season, there's no way Spurs would pay £20m for McCarthy. They might even win the league yet, there'll be plenty of players wanting a little bit of that, champions, new stadium, London etc. Can't see McCarthy being any more than a bench warmer.

  11. We won't win the cup playing like that drivel today so safe to say we don't have to worry!!

We 'could' win the cup......even Wigan 'could' win a cup, now , where did they finish in the league !

Did Martinez get the Everton job 'because' he won the cup ?
