When was the last time a 6-0 was the last game on MOTD?
Probably when we put six past someone
-
-
Nothing was really asked of our defence today, which means the midfield should have shown more.
Final ball didn't exist, all this against a team off the back of a mid-week cup battle with extra time.
Nearly went to this one...........................so there is a silver lining.
-
And to think, last week Matrinez had got it right and we would probably finish top 4..........funny old game!
-
We could play all day and we still wouldn't score!
-
Shake it up Martinez !
-
Everton 3 WBA 1.
Lukaku.
-
9 out of 10, don't know which one I got wrong.
Saw a penalty the other day on you tube, where the taker passed to a team mate who scored. The goal scorer was outside the box when the taker touched the ball.It was an international, think it was Holland. The ref signalled a goal. Was new to me, I'd never seen that before !
Lukaku, the most amazing feat of his of his goal scoring, is that he managed to get 20 last season with the crap football we were playing.Every time the ball was about to be delivered into an attacking area............. it was fucking passed sideways, backwards and sideways again, the strikers must have been suicidal.
Surely some of the worst football any Everton team have ever served up.
So well done Rom, £28 million or not, you still stuck 20 in the net.
Beast of a player.
-
Clean sheets, penalties, goals from corners, workman like defence........wins!
Stoke were poor, there was only one team in it today, well played lads.
Martinez, keep doing what your doing.
-
If ever someone could tempt fate!
If we lose this it wont be fate it will be Martinez.
-
brilliant display in my opinion, reminds me of the Southampton game.
A good display, but far from brilliant, conditions aren't helping either team.Stoke seem to have lost half a yard since the Goodison match.
surely can't lose this.
-
To be honest this isn't exactly a great display from us, but hey, 3-0 !
Joels confidence will be growing by the match.
Rom, not great service today, but 20 goals so far, well done lad.
-
Can Martinez hang onto the points, the right team talk and subs and three points are ours.
-
As the prem stands now we are 7th.
-
Three penalties in a row then we score from a corner..........what next, another clean sheet !!
-
Stoke 1 Everton 2.
Barkley.
-
I can see the froth all over your posts. Calm down, you might just be wrong.
He might just be right !
-
For the best part of a month, I'll give you that. But 2 years he was injured, so he hasn't been able to perform his duties (granted) but he's still been paid during that time.
His primary function is to score. He must be trying not to because the chances are harder to miss.
True, second half Newcastle were able to push forward that bit more because of the change at half time.Roms hold up play even with a bad back had Newcastle more wary at the back. They just couldn't deal with Ross coming forward, when he really get's his head sorted ie shoot or pass he will be unplayable.
-
Deserved the win, typical Everton up to the penalties.Bet Ross enjoyed pen number two, better than pen number one.
-
Kone ! surely an Injured Rom would have been better left on.Guess you have to be carefull with back injuries.
-
what stops us from tonking Newcastle in the second half ?
Not being able to score.
-
Same old, better team, pretty football, can't kill it off!
-
Should win, probably draw, gutted if we lose !
-
In the 2000's we had the likes of Zidane, Figo, Ronaldo, Seedorf, Kaka, Beckham, Gerrard, Lampard, Nedved, Xavi, David's, Villa etc etc.
I just feel the standard of players has dropped from back then. There seems to be more of a level playing field now without as many elites.
Probably why Leicester City are on top of the prem.
Martinez - Direction?

Seriously can't recall many games where we played 'badly', I've been frustrated many times this season because we can't put opponents to the sword.
We have got a good squad, on paper probably much better than Leicester, but we know all about them.
Probably down to team spirit, coaching, man management etc.
It's ok having a Barkley, a Coleam, a Baines, a Lukaku, a Jags, a Mirallas, etc, etc..........it's what you do with them, how you motivate them, the tactics you employ. It's about your subs, when and where you bring them in, it's about understanding that sometimes to shut up shop at the back isn't a sign of weakness.
