  1. agree with the above, too many negative and bk bashing comments on here how quickly people turn, if it wasnt for him we would have done a leeds and ended up in a proper mess looking forward to an away trip at yeovil people say him and wyness are a bad combo...confused. if it wasnt for them, this kirkby deal wouldnt be on the table ? didnt bk employ davie moyes, who is quickly becoming one of our best ever managers ? a manager, imo, who will be talked about in the same league as harry catterick and howard kendall in years to come. i dont see what all the big fuss is about us haggling over transfer fees, why not ?? if you know a player is unsettled and wants to join you, why not use that as a bargaining tool ? i work for npower and when we discuss new contracts with large suppliers, do you think we give in to the first offer ? no way, we haggle over every last detail to save money - its good business practice dont forget, its not just the transfer fee the club has to pay, theres the signing on fee and then the wages on top. so why not try to save a few pennies on the transfer fee ? yes we are not cash rich but we are hardly boston utd !! if we save two mill on this deal and ship out one of our squad players, we can re-invest the saved money on getting other players in (paying for vogels signing on fee etc)
  2. agreed....there is a lot of ifs and buts and maybe coming from LCC and lets be honest, they are full of red shite. if the vote turns out to be no and we kiss goodbye to this chance, we will live to regret it if the council wanted to keep us, why the fook havent they been helping us over the last 20 years ? they havent lifted a finger to help us ref a new stadium or investment. Their only concern is liverpool fc and the amount of money which is passed to them under the table by mega rich lfc directors. Why else do you think lfc are about to build a nice shiney new stadium on "never to be touched green belt" area. all you ever hear from them is "well we do have some ideas of where the stadium could be built and some people wanting to invest" nothing but total rubbish from a council who are scared to death about losing the peoples club from their city, well thats just tough because they deserve it...they've given us nothing. we about to be showered with support, investment and a new stadium from a council who wants us and a company who wants a business relationship with us. there is no way we can say no to this, a no vote would leave us with a broken down stadium and struggling to find investment (a problem most people moan about on here day after day) please dont let sentiment and "its our city" cloud your judgement...kirby is liverpool for ffs. its hardly moving to manchester or copenhagan !! its yes all the way
  3. i wonder if carsley is the man who is being mentioned as part of the baines deal. If carsley does go, then i hope we bring in Vogel as a replacement. Is carsley now 34 ? Baines would be an excellent signing and the injection of pace we need down the left (im not sure how many more shite left backs i can take at this club, i miss andy hinchcliffe !!) good point about VA going to the african nations cup, we defo dont want to get rid of any strikers (though it will be interesting to see how Lukas does this season)
  4. theres too much to read ref the stadium, im just looking at certain threads..if you try to read them all, your head goes into a spin the way i see it is this, we have to move forward or we risk getting left behind. To be honest, four miles is nothing and kirkby is still part of liverpool (a line on a map doesnt change 100s of years of geographical history). The investment is there, the stadium plan is in place, the figures have been juggled about and we would be crazy to turn it down. to get a brand new stadium for, potentially, £5million is incredible. Lots of other clubs, see liverpool and pompey for examples. are saddling themselves with debts to build £300million near stadia. what would happen if/when the americans move out of liverpool fc ? the oversea investment bubble will burst one day people are always going to have strong views on this and once you mind is made up one way or the other, wild horses or nazi style propaganda cant change it
  5. Licker, you are very anti the move to Kirkby Can i ask your main reasons for this ?
  6. yep man utd moved to old trafford in 1910, a hundred years later and they are a mega rich multiple time champions of english football. would they be the same force had they stayed in manchester ? debatable moving 4 miles and out of the shadow of liverpool fc might be the best move we ever make i think sometimes people are quick to listen to some council propaganda (ok you can claim thats what wyness is doing but the council are playing the same game) they've done nothing for us for decades and bent over backwards for the rs. only now that we are off, the start to bang the "we love you, stay in our city and boost the local economy" drum...pile of shite. where were they on the kings dock project ? screwing us over. stanley park was a green belt area that couldnt be built on, cue the rs building a stadium on it. they claim to have other sites and projects/investers in the pipeline but they dont give any hard details. i know we are in agreement with tesco/kirkby but it doesnt stop liverpool council coming to the press and showing their hand. we need to stop getting all sentimental about this...we need this investment, we need this stadium and we need to move forward. simple as that its a no brainer
  7. just about to say the same thing, fuck me there are some "the glass is half empty" people on here. i dont think you can win with that lot kirby offers us a shedload of investment and the financial backing from the best run company in the country (with an evertonian at the head of it) the kind of investment people want but thats not good enough. do you really want to see the club crash and burn because you dont want to move 4 miles ffs ? we have never played in Everton, so does it make a blind bit of difference if move to another borough of liverpool ? you cant have everything your own way, you cant have a load of investment and stay in the city and spend millions of GOOD new players and still pay off your debts (not the kind of rubbish that west ham are investing in). these clubs that spend loads of average players will be in a leeds style mess in a few years time whilst we will still be ran professionally and making money from our nice tesco tie up/shiney new stadium when man utd left manchester, did everybody kick off and start sounding the death bell ? look what has happened to them !!
  8. fully agree with the above posts would you rather have big headed reo-coker for £8.5mill or lord snotty richardson for £5.5mill or pienaar for a years loan with a £2.5mill option to buy ? easy decision
  9. "you dont win anything with kids" too true, apart from back to back championships and a european cup kids are rubbish just ask man utd
  10. i agree with the above you cant compare Koumas and Richardson. Koumas is a very good midfield playmaker who shows his talent in a welsh shirt, so maybe that suggests he steps up a gear or two when he's playing with/against a better quality of player. Indeed, if you talk to alot of welsh fans, they hold him in very high regard i just dont see all the fuss about Richardson. I dont rate him as a player and apart from pace, im not sure what he brings to the team. He has a giant sized ego and if you read the utd forums on bbc.co.uk they all seem to be cock-a-hoop to get shot of him. If we are going to say "well we need some pace in the team" why not sign john regis and maurice green ?? :> Also, i dont think we are the type of team who needs to get to byline to smack in crosses and high balls into the box. We scored a shed load of goals last season without a pacey winger and we can do the same this season. Id rather have midfield playmakers to create chances then hack the ball down the line for quick players to chase. Also, one final point, the way our two top strikers player (imo vaughan and AJ) they have bags of pace and tend to make runs down the channels, holding the ball up and bringing other players into the game. Do we really need a big headed utd reserve to do that job ? no chance Koumas all the way for me
  11. I agree, i think Jason Koumas is a very good talent and would fit in nicely into the squad. Would you rather have Koumas in the starting 11 or Osman ? no debate, it would be koumas everytime and dont forget, depending how well we do in the uefa cup, the team will probably change alot so we cant expect Arteta to take the burden of roughly 45 games next year. We have backup in every position apart from a creative midfielder, Koumas could be a good cheap answer.
  12. couldnt agree more with the post above if you take chelski out of the equation, alot of the other teams who have spent big money have gone no-where and won nothing (when was the last time blackburn, newcastle, west ham etc won a cup of importance ?) you only have to look at the shadyness (is that a word?) of the people trying to purchase premiership clubs. birmingham and man city are are going to be in serious terrible if they sell out to the easten investors. all that seems to be happening at the moment is club directors are selling out for their own financial gain, they dont care who takes charge or what their intentions are. west ham are/were splashing the cash but on who ?? vastly over valued average players..leave them to it i say you can say alot of things about BK but at least he isnt screwing the club over and improving his instant access savings account
  13. id like to throw in kenny sandsom and claus thompson into the mix aswell good god and i know we didnt sign him but michael branch also sucked sacks - he was suppose to be our robbie fowler !! though at least we have spent a squillion pounds of piss poor players like old rs brothers eh
  14. Seems to be alot of KGB style agents on various websites "my friend" "my sources" "my dad's pub landlord" where would we be without these cheeky tinkers also, to the guy at the top who says his friend know how much everton have to spend, who is your friend ? is it Jason Donovan or Sir Andrew Lord Webber, BK's bestest buddy ?
  15. i wonder how much Diop would be up for sale if people like west ham or portsmouth were interested in him instead of us ? Im sure if egg for a head eggert came knocking, Diop's price would rise to a cracking £6million At least we know that when we do sign a player, we wont be ripped off on the price tag. A club will see that we are interested, think "they have no money but we want shot of this player" and sell him to us at a decent price west ham, pompey however will sign similar quality players than us but at huge inflated prices Personally, id like to see Diop come to Goodison. You dont turn into a shite player over night, one year ago he was touted as a signing for Man Utd !
  16. Who says we only have £8-£9 million pound to spend ? i dont understand why people post articles claiming we have x amount to spend....nobody apart BK , the board and DM actually know how much EFC have to spend as for Baines, i think he would be a great signing we him at left back, with valente as coverered, i think we would have the complete defence
  17. exactly what i thought when i saw it on ssn what makes it even worse is that chavski paid £30mill for shevchenko and he couldnt hit a barn door !! shev, bent or henry ? now let me know think....
  18. ill never be sure about south american players for every juninho theres been a ton of emersons for every villa theres been a ton of of rodrigos and for ever ardiles theres been a ton of verons though saying that, the worst premiership player ever was from holland...step forward crazy caravan driver marco boogers on a different point, on the bbc forum...theres an alledged email from ian ross. the guy sent an email to Ian asking him about the lack of transfer activity at Everton since the end of the season. his reply, if it is him of course, is interesting reading From: Ian Ross Morning, And who have Arsenal bought thus far? Liverpool? Aston Villa? Chelsea? etc etc Why would you buy a player in May/ early June and then pay him £30,000 a week simply to sit on a tropical isalnd with his wife and kids? The answer is, you wouldn't ... you would do what Liverpool, Arsenal et are doing and wait.... Have a good summer Ian Ross its an interesting point and one ive thought about in the past. we are not a rich club so buying players as they sit on the beach or indeed carry ricky hattons gloves, is a pricey attack plan anybody have any thoughts ?
  19. Just reading that some people wouldnt mind taking a few south americans into our club id say "good god no thanks" - if you have a look at the history of the prem, south american players have been nitemares bad attitudes, find it hard to adjust to the uk lifestyle, under performed and refused to get their hands dirty..always using the "english football is too rough" excuse apart from juninho (first time of course), i cant think of a single player who has stood out and made a difference and as for the russian guy, theres alot of money in the russian games at the mo (with big backers owning spartak and cska) so i wouldnt have thought we could afford to buy any of their players or compete with the wages id settle for home grown players
  20. i think a left side of downing and baines would be quality im up for this deal but the numbers being talked about are very high £4mill + beattie max id say
  21. im not sure about Zamora he has a pretty good goal return (one every three games last season) and was knocking in the goals when the rest of the strike force were playing like stuart barlow but on the flip side, his goals to chances ratio isnt the greatest. ive seen him take three of four chances to get off the mark in west ham games. is he the answer the AJ partnership question ? probably not but he does seem to put the ball in the onion bag - ron atkinson ©
  22. id be bricking it if i was a brum fan at the moment they, along with spurs, are the best run club in the premiership. The owners dont pay over the odds for players or spend lots of money on salaries, which ruins dressing harmony. Do they honestly want to sell out and run the risk of being ruined as a club ? and if they do sell out, do the fans honestly think that all of a sudden the club will buy players like kaka raul buffon etc ? nope...they will probably do what west ham have done, bought average players for over the odds and for massive salaries does everybody honestly think mr abramovich will be at chelsea forever ? and he keep bank rolling them for decades to come ? one day all these big backers will get bored with football and pull out, then the clubs will be in real trouble
  23. I think we should sell to a dodgy eastern european business man who made his money through "oil", pay over the odds for merchanies and pay them six figure salaries despite better players being available on the open market. then when we still finish mid table and the clus is saddled with debt and players who hate each other, maybe a few of you will see how good BK is for the club im amazed that people think money = instant success newcastle have been spending large amounts of money on a yearly basis and what have they won ?? sweet fa. why the hell do people think that west ham, villa, birmingham and blackburn will be world beaters just because they have a few pennies to spend ? its not about buying high value players, its about buying the right players for the club. italian teams, this comment is aimed at lazio parma fiorentina and roma, spent zillions in the late 90s and won fuck all. those clubs almost went under, indeed fiorentina did whilst parma are still paying for it today, as they wasted money on over priced players like signori and mendieta. do we want to be the same ?? or would you rather this club move forward slowly before pushing the top 4 and finally being debt free ? what we need is a few more years of finishing in the top 6/7 and cementing our place as a top uefa cup side. yes we need investment but a complete over haul of the board of directors is a disaster waiting to happen. remember peter johnson ?? enough said 7 years ago we would have killed to have finish in the top 10 four seasons out of five...lets get behind BK and DM and stop moaning
  24. he's owned by a company called globel sports agency. another shady company who are buying registrations of players from their clubs this is why his fee is so high, since GSA want £6mill for him, as do benfica tevez is owned by MSI
  25. Hi All Thought i would come and introduce myself. My names Ross and i live in swindon. Ive been following the blues ever since the mid 80s when i was a glory support (yes i admit it) and because my dad was a RS. Ive stuck with the blues ever since and still wake up in the middle of the night having flashbacks of the horne smashing one in from 25 yards in our famous "sweaty bum" relegation escape Ive come on this board as there are loads of people on here with good posts and good points to get across I used to be part of the bbcsport forum but got fed up with the wum from the RS and idiotic posts which included "if we dont finish 5th, i think moyes should go" and the like I look forward to joining in the chat on this site
