  1. Elia cost Bremen 5.5 million euros. Surely he'd be available for around this price again. McCarthy would be good. In an ideal world I would love Fellaini to stay and play him as a centre midfielder where he is an absolute beast rather than behind the striker.
  2. Sounds like what we need though. Pacey, direct, tricky, exciting. Imagine him on one wing and mirallas on the other. Coleman and Bainsey behind them as well. Felli and Gibson to keep things tidy in the middle. Buy a prolific striker and an attacking midfielder. Quality centre back with Jags and that's some team. I know i'm in cuckoo land though, there's no way we'll have money again this summer. Had enough of this being skint business. About bloody time we got some money. While hearing this guy's name it reminded me of another similar type player. Eljero Elia's at Werder Bremen these days and only made 21 appearances. Worth a punt?
  3. "And that's how it came to pass that on the second-to-last day of the job, the convict crew that tarred the plate factory roof in the spring of forty-nine wound up sitting in a row at ten o'clock in the morning drinking icy cold, Bohemia-style beer, courtesy of the hardest screw that ever walked a turn at Shawshank State Prison." "Drink up while it's cold, ladies." "The colossal prick even managed to sound magnanimous." My favourite scene ever. Whenever I watch it I think to myself "Christ I've gotta have a beer"
  4. Decent team. Naismith needs a big game. Such a poor season. Hopefully though he plays behind Anichebe rather than wide right. That's his best position I think and he hasn't really had the chance to play there. Disappointed Barkley doesn't start though.
  5. Anyone watched Darren Farley's impression of Harry Redknapp? Watched it 3 times and I'm still pissing myself laughing.
  6. Good point about the World Cup. Still, nicer to hear his name over Hughes or Lennon. I just want someone exciting who takes risks and favours attacking football. I must admit Martinez has grown on me big time. I was happy for him yesterday as he seems a really nice guy and a top coach. When do you think we'll actually appoint someone? Hopefully sooner rather than later as he needs time to prepare for pre-season.
  7. Apparently Jurgen Klinsmann's odds have gone from 100/1 to 14/1 in the space an hour. He'd be interesting.
  8. It has? Good news. Take it under a different name though?
  9. Looking forward to the game today. Question: Did anyone previously use the website liveonlinefooty or Bit Scores until it got shut down? I was gutted cause all the games were shown and the quality was excellent. Does anyone know of a similar website now where you pay for the streams to get the quality? Thanks.
  10. Tony Pulis? Please, I honestly could not think of a worse candidate. Does that mean I can throw Steve Kean's name in there as well for a laugh? Ohh and Terry O' Connor, how can we forget about him. Out of all the names mentioned above, the only 3 I would even consider are Laudrup, Martinez and Pereira (massive risk as I have never seen him manage but he looks exciting and attacking).
  11. There isn't a standout candiate out there really in my opinion. Out of the names being mentioned, some of them really frighten me. Lennon, O'Neill, Mark Hughes. I suppose Martinez is the best out of them but i'm not 100% convinced by him. It's gonna be strange having another manager in charge though so a bit nervous but also excited as this is a new chapter for Everton. As for Saturday, i've read a few messages from fans that are gonna boo and show their anger. Stupid if that's the case. Think he'll have a good send off in front of the Goodison crowd. Gotta speak about this on a Welsh radio station tomorrow... the joys.

I agree. There's some sort of mental block when it comes to playing them. I'm still angry about that semi final. They had Brad Jones in goal and we never tested him once. Instead of sitting back and letting them play (as we always do) we should have gone for the second and third. That's why we will never beat them comfortably. If we do go 1-0 up (highly unlikely) then I hope it's not early cause we're in for a nervous time from then on of trying to defend that lead. I would love to be proved wrong but I have a bad feeling about this game.

Paul Jones? Tim Flowers? Matt Oakley?
  15. On MOTD last night when he scored vs Wigan . I agree. Tottenham are at least 10 points better off because of him. He just has that ability to win games on his own. I remember when I watched Wales play Scotland last year at the Cardiff city stadium. 1-0 down and looking like a poor loss at home. Bale gets on one of his runs, wins a penalty, scores it. Then he goes on another run, gets fouled. Gets back up, takes it quickly and smashes it into the top corner to win the game. I remember thinking there what a player this man is. He's won so many games for both club and country. Players that can win a game on their own are very very rare.
  16. Rumours that Bale has won both the young player and PFA player. As a welshman I may be biased but I think he is absolute quality. To win both might be too much though. Young player to Bale, PFA to RVP would have been fairer.

Just hope we don't bottle it again as we have done in the past. Derbies are suppose to be unpredictable games so techincally an away win shouldn't be that unusual. We haven't won in Anfield for god knows how long so it's about bloody time we do. Last season I was appalled by the way we performed against them. We litreally stood off and let them play. We lost 3-0 last season and it was one of the worst performances i've ever seen by an Everton team. After we went 1-0 up in the semi final we looked like little children to be honest. Did not have a clue what to do in that position. It was embarrassing. Because of what's happened i'm not at all confident about this game. Can see it being one of those awful performances again and losing 2-0. I just can't be bothered with giving them the bragging rights AGAIN. Please please let me be wrong and we can go there and come away with a convincing 2-0 win. Can't see it though sorry.
  19. Out of interest how many of you do a weekly accumlator? I'll be honest i've only ever won one bet in my life and that was a Rugby one (ironically my first rugby bet ever). Got a 19/1 first try scorer win with a £10 on. I've had two near misses. One was a 10 fold football, was 9/9 and wanted sunderland to beat the shite but suarez earned them a draw in the 70th minute. Just added to my hatred of him. would have won me £970 or so. The other one was a darts accumulator. I'm a big darts fan and did a 15 game accumulator for last year's world champs. Was 14/14 and lost it on the last game. Would have won £1,200ish. Should have covered it so was a bit naive really. Those near misses have made me worse in a way. I bet now every weekend and midweek if there's fixtures. Anyone else have some memorable wins or near misses?

Only saw this thread now. Cheers lads. 22 now! Getting old.
  21. Zoo I'm in stitches here. Absolutely brilliant. My favourite was "I think £10 million is a realistic value, if we haggled enough then maybe we would be able to get it to rise to 15." Quality!!
