  1. Yeah I get that and I wouldnt want us to sign sub standard players just to get the squad numbers up, but what I am saying is if we cant find the right players to bring in then we shouldnt be letting players go Martinez himself has been saying for months that we needed to replace Kone and Gibson and we havent managed to do that. Since then weve lost Jelavic and Lukaku which leaves us without a CF at a crucial time of the season
  2. Dont think that there will be much guess work required, they will sit back and let us have 60 - 70 % possesion in harmles areas of the pitch and then hit us on the break at pace
  3. Who would you rather have upfront Jelavic or Naismith? I take your point about neither Jelavic or Hietinga not featuring much when everyone is fir, but the problem is that we have an horrendous injury list. Kone, Gibson and Oviedo are all out for the season and needed replacing, none of them have I grant you the January window is a difficult one but there are players out there, we signed Arteta in January and he didnt do too badly. The club have known for months that Kone and Gibson are going to miss the season and I think its very dissapointing that they havent done anything to replace them. If we got an injury to either McCarthy or Barry we would be in big trouble The bottom line is that if Evertons scouting network couldnt identify any replacements for Kone and Gibson then we shouldnt have sold Jelavic and Hietinga. Its just very frustrating that a promising start to the season is in real jeopardy of being derailed
  4. Got to agree, no doubt Roberto thinks it was a phenomenal window, but if we assume that because Alcaraz has played 90 minutes he is now either injured or will be by half time on Saturday, then we now only have 4 fit defenders Add to that the fact we have no fit forwards, I refuse to consider Vellios, then its starting to look pretty grim, I can see this season just petering out into mediocrity if we aren't careful But on the plus side Johnny and Nikica might get to go to Brazil
  5. There are some right dickhead Evertonians on twitter tonight, All the abuse Kenwright and Hietinga are getting is embarrassing

  7. I would rather we had Mirallas up top and Naismith on the right to give us a bit more cover on the flank
  8. Ive seen him play football enough times to be able to say I dont rate his ability. He had a few decent games coming off the bench a while back but was then piss poor and completely ineffective when he started games. Since then he has gone down hill Moyes wouldnt give him a look in and now Martinez is doing the same, got to be something in that
  9. http://www.setanta.com/ie/coleman-remains-sidelined/ Coleman and Distin both out so I would be happy if we can take a point from this game
  10. I can fully understand us not buying in January if the players we want are not available, however what I cant understand is letting Jelavic go without a replacement If we cant buy/loan then we shouldnt sell Ok we have Traore , who is an unkown quantity, but we already needed to replace Kone and now that Lukaku is injured we really are down to the bare bones

  14. Not sure whether thats good news or not If he was out for months it would surely have forced Robertos hand in the transfer market, still the rest might do him good
  15. When did I write him off? Ive just been reading the Echo and it would appear that David Prentice pretty much agrees with what I have been saying "While the loss of Coleman, who would surely have eyed Aly Cissokho’s name on the Liverpool teamsheet like a junkyard dog eyes a juicy bone, was a big miss for the Blues. John Stones is a classy central defender in the making. But while he started his career at right-back, he didn’t have anything like the adventure or the dynamism of the Irishman he replaced. Frequently, when the match was still in the balance, he found acres of space down Liverpool’s left – but chose all too frequently to cut back or cross from a deep position" Ok I know that doesnt mean Im right but I am certainly not alone in thinking that he isnt an attacking FB Im not blaming Stones for the defeat because as you rightly pointed out he wasnt the only defender at fault for the goals. The reason we lost was simply that The Shite wanted it more. We were out faught and out thought. Brenda got his tactics spot on Roberto never The point I was making is that if Roberto wants to persist with both full backs bombing on then he needs to find aomeone else to do the job. Thats not writing off Stones because I think he has all the makings of a top class CB he just doesnt look like an attacking RB

  18. I think this is Robertos first real test as an Everton manager especially if Lukaku is going to be out for a while, not that hes offered much recently It could be the kick up the arse the we needed just a shame it had to be such a painful one
  19. The fact other players also fucked up is irrelevant. Stones can not be used as an attacking full back he just hasnt got it in him Im not knocking the lad but that particular role just isnt for him and if he cant do it then we need to find someone who can, either that or Roberto needs a plan B
  20. He made a mistake but is still comfortably the best CB at the club so its not really an issue for me
  21. Our main concern should be Everton Fottball Club not whether Johnny goes to the World Cup or not, I already think Roberto has fucked up letting Jelavic go too early If he is going to let these players go then he needs to do what he said he was going to do and bring in replacements BEFORE selling them. He has known for months that they would be leaving so he should have had this sorted
