  1. For me this thread has got fuck all to do with Moyes and whether you like it or not results wise nothing much has changed therefore I think its perfectly reasonable to debate it The only hole I would pick about the new regime is that we havent got the financial clout to compete at the top, something else that hasnt changed!
  2. I cant understand why people are so enraged about this thread, its a pretty valid argument IMO

  8. @GregOK: #EFC's thriving Irish talent base continues to grow as Blues pip United, Chelsea & Spurs to land talented Dublin teenager Stephen Kinsella.
  9. Lol but your happy to accept we only ever played hoofball?
  10. Exactamundo ! Second of your posts tonight that have well and truly hit the nail on the head There is plenty to be positive about no doubt about that, but are we any nearer to cracking the top 4? Nah Have we progressed? I don't think we can truly answer that until after the next transfer window I know he wasn't exactly pulling up trees but since we lost Lukaku we have looked toothless and I doubt he will be here next year so that's a big concern I'm sure Roberto has something up his sleeve, but then I thought that in January, I'm concerned that we need a major overhaul of the squad in a World Cup year I personally don't think much has changed or is likely to change results wise and the reason I think that way is because we can't compete financially I love Roberto's positivity and I love the way the club is being run at the moment and I live in hope that we have areal chance of winning the FA Cup sometime soon. Already written off any chance of us ever having a run in the league cup under Martinez I think things are as good as they possibly could be at the moment and I love the way Roberto is buying into the entire ethos of Everton Football Club But I also hate the way people try to rewrite history and ignore anything Moyes did and as soon as someone tries to argue that we were akin to Stoke City and only played hoofball then I'm sorry but I think they are talking out of their arses and I rapidly lose interest Lol I'm also loving Haf getting pissed off with someone's negativity . How things change!
  11. Haf you always home in on the Moyes comments about penknives to gun fights and top 10 being an achievement . Has it ever occurred to you that he was saying those things to dampen down expectation to take the pressure off the players? I bet he didn't mean a word of it and I bet it wasn't the kind of thing he was saying in the dressing room Our team spirit is renowned and you don't get that if the players aren't fully behind the manager. Players have even backed him after he has gone, Distin stating the winning mentality has always been there
  12. Lol yeah ok add that in if you like but I'm not too sure how Moyes would have managed to sign Deulofeu for Lazio
  13. I reckon we would probably have been about 7th in the league, we would probably have pathetically capitulated in the league cup and maybe even made it to the QF of the FA Cup We would have started out with CL aspirations but they would have evaporated rapidly at the first sight of a few injuries The possession stats wouldn't have been as good though !

  15. http://www.liverpoolecho.co.uk/sport/football/football-news/everton-fc-discover-extent-lacina-6741834 Might be a blessing in disguise if it is a long term injury, then we can send him back to Monacoa and save money on the wages. Either that or get him to give kids rides along Blackpool beach with all the other donkeys

  17. I agree with you Matt, we played some great stuff under Moyes but people seem to want to ignore that and rewrite history. Also as much as I am loving the Martinez experience you cant tell me that we havent had any dross served up since he took charge but the same people also choose to ignore that. Simple fact of the matter is that you are not going to get a side that turns it on for every game of the season
  18. http://www.liverpoolecho.co.uk/sport/football/football-news/everton-fc-analysis-blues-try-6738716 Seems that this article fits nicely in here
  19. I can only speak for myself but its a lot more simplistic than that Roberto is doing a "phenominal" job, the "incredible" football is easier on the eye and his positivity is a breath of fresh air but the result is exactly the same. Its the same old bad luck stories and the same old failings and until we can find a way of turning all that possesion into goals then nothing is going to change anytime soon. We are still coming up short when it really matters Im not saying that because I have been brainwashed by Moyes I am saying it because the stats dont lie. We have a decent starting XI but no depth to it and so we are never going to be able to sustain a prolonged push for the top 4 None of that of cause is Martinez's fault, but until we can give him a Suarez or a Rooney or an Aguero then I just cant see how we can compete
  20. It certainly will, I expect it to be the busiest window for as long as I can remember. The squad is going to need a major overhaul in the summer if only to replace the loan players, it will be interesting to see what Roberto has up his sleave. Probably the worst time to buy players as well so BK will have to use his negotiating skills to the max!
