  1. What a great pro! I for one would welcome him back with open arms. Just because he's a centre back it doesn't mean that's how he'd coach a team to play plus he's kept himself fit enough to play consistently at the 'highest level' into his 40's, not many can say that!

  2. Even then, look at the clubs that have been taken over in the Premier League era.

    ManU

    Chelsea

    Villa

    Them across the park

    Blackburn

    Man City

    Birmingham

Only 2 of these have actually come in and spent shed loads of money, investment nearly brought Liverpool down (shame) and ask the Man U fans what they think of their owners.

Chelsea and Man.City have spent loads - true but Villa spent about £90m of Lerner's millions but they spent it on shite apart from 1 or 2 so the shoe strings were tightened. Birmingham seem to have a lot more money than us - would we not want Hleb/ Bentley/ Martins? We couldn't afford them - they could! Them across the park have spent a lot but mainly on shite again. It'll be interesting to see how much Blackburn spend this summer - I don't think this is being made out to be a huge take-over though! As for Man.Utd... well my mate is now a F.C.United fan, I have others who are still Man.Utd fans... have the Glazers been bad for Man.Utd? It's not as if they've won anything since they've been in charge!!!???

I think people would be happy (well I would) if Moyes was guarenteed £20m a summer without having to sell, like spurs do every summer, like the shite do every summer and like teams like stoke have begun to do every summer!

I do agree though, the stadium is a huge stumbling block, it will be interesting to see if these corporate facilities being built will make a difference...

  3. 19x11(two goals each, eleven assists to zero)=209+10%=229.9.

    £229.9m please Ken.

"....they may have to give serious consideration to a £10 million bid."

When they've managed to pick themselves up off the floor and stopped crying with laughter  .

Thanks Mike - that still sounds cheap so they may have to put some add-ons into the deal!!!

  4. I'd let him go at the right price... and I've done an equation to work out that price...

£19m (the price they paid for johnson) x productivity (the difference between goals/assists between baines and johnson this season) + an extra 10% (because it's Liverpoo) = fair price.

If anyone would like to work that out you can forward it to Kenny with kind regards!!! ;)

  5. I love Moyes - when we sold Rooney everyone who gave me stick I'd always say Moyes is more important than Rooney...

But is Moyes more important than investment further down the road?

A Blackburn type owner - Moyes is way more important than money!

A Chelsea/Man.City type owner - they can do what they want as long as they're here for the long haul!

I would love Moyes to stay and be our manager for the next 20 years with this potential backing but football's a fickle game and money talks!!!

  6. West Ham.......Carrick, Cole, Ferdinand, Defoe, Lampard,Glen Johnson all sold for in excess of £50m - and they were high prices at the time. Where did that send West Ham?

Beat me to it mentioning West Ham - winds me up the posibility of Rodwell going, are we just going to be another West Ham producing some of our countries best players for other clubs to enjoy their best years? It's not good enough! We may as well sell Barkley now. Something's got to change because how are we going to compete if we are selling our 'best' players every 3-4 seasons to give Moyes a budget? ...and if we're not going to compete - just balance the books then what's the point?

  7. I'd personally be happier if we could get player(s) plus cash in return for Rodwell then we would definately have some 're-investment' in our playing squad , United, Arsenal and City (and Real)have all got fringe players who would improve our first team.

My ideal scenario would be Rodwell going to Arsenal in return for Chamakh plus cash - may sound ridiculous but he's fit and doesn't seem to get a look in with RVP and even Bendtner fit and the fact that Wenger will probably be in the market for another striker this summer - may not be so ridiculous!!! (oh yeah wages!?)

  8. A new World Football Columns writer, Darren Loyden, has debuted his weekly serial on the Toffees, Forever & Everton, with his opinion of what has gone wrong with the club this season.

    http://wp.me/p17xNf-3Q6

    Enjoy!

Huge lack of general football knowledge or totally disalusioned or on crack!!!

Mentioned are some of the hottest prospects in world football who most BIG clubs in the world will already be monitoring and ready if bids (over £20m for most mentioned) are made!

    Bring on the billionaire!

  9. :(

I feel we are now at the end of an era. I'm scared, as we all our, at what is in store for us. We are heading straight for a storm this summer lads. Hold tight.

    I fear this too! :(

  10. BBC´s North West Tonight have this evening claimed of significant interest from an American source in a takeover of Everton.

Is this current or one of the 3 turned down?

If there was ever a time when we needed this to be genuine, it's now. Investment pre-summer or I can see many players leaving who we'd rather be keeping! :(

  11. I like Leighton Baines, I hope you know this song is about you...- to the tune of You're so Vein - we don't sing it though.

We need to sing Time to go, time to go, time to go... back off to Moscow - BILY. Totally lost any slight faith I had in him or vic after last nights shite!!!

My favourite song is Makes me feel like singing the blues...
