  1. Let's face it we're not going to have a lot to play with this summer even if we sell so here's some players who would be decent/realistic additions in my opinion within our modest budget...

    GK-

Westwood - free - competition for Howard

Green - sure I've read he's free - replacement should we sell Howard

    Full backs -

Torres - free - only on the basis we've been linked

Naughton - £? - has played well for Leicester (would prefer Walker but he'll no doubt be in and around spurs starting XI)

Little - £? - young Peterborough attacking RB, looks very good whenever I've seen him

Clyne - £? - Palace RB, maybe as part of a deal taking Vaughan to them

    Centre Backs -

Upson - free - if we sold Distin for a few mil then he would be worth bringing in short term to invest in other areas

Chambers - free - has looked decent whenever I've watched Forest

Mancienne - £? - his versatility anywhere across the back 4 is appealing - still think he'll turn out decent

    Wingers -

Larsson - free - not a huge fan but he can deliver a quality ball from the right and a set piece, which we lack

Vaughan - free - hard working 'Moyes-type player'

McGugan - £? - looks like Forests star player, tricky and lively

    Centre Mid -

Moussi - free - only put him here as we've been linked, personally think he looks very clumsey

Scholes - £? - yes Paul Scholes - he wants more game time - we could offer it here especially if we were to lose felli or rodwell - ridiculous maybe but what a player to have short term for Barkley/Baxter etc to learn from

    Strikers -

Klose - free - not a chance in my opinion but he would be a class signing for a couple of seasons

Nugent - free - why not? He's not too old... he's lost his way a little but if we lose Vaughan then he would give his all for the team he supports

Bothroyd - free - not too dis-similar to Zamora at Fulham - that seems to have worked out - no way my first choice but he'd be a good 'bully' type striker to bring on late in games

Borini - free (with tribunal) - would be a good little signing in my opinion

Please take this apart/ agree with some and add own suggestions. It's clear we need squad players and it's clear we are going to lose some of our current fringe players... obviously if we sell for a decent fee I'd expect bigger signings but some of these would be decent addtions.

    Thoughts?

  2. No chance of happening but why not go for...

    ..........Howard..........

    Coleman..Jags..Duffy..Baines

    .....Rodwell..Neville.......

    Baxter.....Osman.....Gueye

    ...........Velios..........

A nice mix in my opinion (and great experience) - I think most of us can predict our line-up though! :(

  3. Sell:

    Yakubu- £4 mill

    Vaughan_£1.5 mill

    Yobo £ 4-5 mill

    Rodwell £20 mill

    Vic-£4 mill

Bily - £6-8 mill (Russia only)

    Heitenga-£8-10 mil

Any fee we do receive we would also get a small % less because none of these player are actually requesting to leave so we would be required to pay them a 'loyalty bonus'. I'm not sure if that's to do with fee received or remaining contract?

Yak will go for more like £2m it seems, Vaughan maybe around that, Yobo won't be far off, Rodwell probably won't be sold unless he was to push through a move, Vic won't be sold unfortunately, I can see a Russian team giving us about that for Bily and I think we've missed the boat in getting that fee for Johnny and could actually see him staying.

There are some quality free transfers available this summer - I would be happy if the sale of Yobo/Yak accomodated Klose/Upson/Torres (spanish full-back) on frees and any other sales revenues (maybe Bily/Vaughan and even Heitinga) were used for signings/loans of 2 wingers and another striker.

On the striker subject - it's a massive shame we didn't gamble on Ba on-loan with a view to sign for £6.9m (if we could have raised it!!!)

  4. 1. 114 points

    2. 101 great goals

    3. T.Hibbert to score just 1 (with his hand in an unnoticed offside position in-front of the kop in a 0-1 win in the 94th minute on the last day of the season!)

    4. Liverpool/ Villa/ Spurs relegated

    5. Me to put £10 on these and all coming true at 1000000000000000000000000000000000-1 (I'd invest a little in our club!!!)

  5. Reading above posts from when we were linked/signed him was interesting - shows that signing 'unknowns' comes off now and again!!!

£50k -> £8m for 1 whole season under his belt would be ridiculous business but I think we all have higher hopes than cashing in for that price on Seamus!!!
