  1. It's probably more because we couldn't possibly do two transfers at once when we struggle so badly with just the one ;).

Very true - unless it's on 31st aug/1st sep - I had to look it up but I do remember vagely when we signed McFadden, Martyn, Kilbane and Jeffers (loan) within hours of each other - that was too much for me!!!

  2. Carroll bosses some of the most experienced defenders about, he'd would absoloutly annihilate centre backs at u21 level - both will be massively missed and it's disappointing they're not expected to play!

    To quote myself...

Winds me up that Spain have got Mata and Capel in their squad - they were part of their World Cup Winning squad last summer (I think) - we should be going all out to win this!

Still looking forward to watching though!

I'd love us to go in early for that Swiss winger as an alternative to N'Zogbia!

  3.

    This winds me up...

If Moyes loses out on N’Zogbia, he will try to bring West Ham target-man Demba Ba to Goodison, and he is also keeping tabs on pacy Sporting Lisbon striker Yannick Djalo, although the chances of him raising the funds to sign the Portugal star are remote.

He's on a free!!! Surely we should be expecting N'Zogbia and Ba!?

  4. Once again, Moyes has ruled himself out.

Move along, there's nothing to see here.

It winds me up, it's all I hear off Villa fans and I'm about to spend the next 4 days (in Barca on Stag Do) with 6 Villa fans... as well as 8 Stokies, 2 Leeds, 1 Forest and worst of all 1 stinking Kopite (and a few who I've not met yet so don't know who they support!!!) I am the only EFC rep and will be wearing my pink training top on our visit to the Nou Camp on Friday!!!

  5. As far as I can see it is "tough tittie Sheffield" You sold him, we didn't force you to sell him to us.

He had a clause triggered by their relegation so they were forced to sell him. They aren't putting any blame on us, they're saying that they could have demanded £8m without this clause if they had stayed up - maybe getting £6m. The reason they couldn't do this is that they went down at West Ham's expense - with West Ham's good form and key goals coming from Tevez who was acquired/playing 'illegally' for them - so West Ham should have gone down (minus Tevez's input) and Jags release fee should have never been triggered!

  6. He would cost £6m normally and I think West Ham paid him £30k a week (£1.5m per season) so I could live with paying him £50k per week (£2.5m per season) and him being free - he could have Yak's wage!

    so - 1.5 x 5 = 7.5 + 6 = £13.5m (on a 5yr deal) - with no signing on fee and wage increase

2.5 x 5 = £12.5m - with no signing on fee - wage increase less likely as already high end earner

£12.5m for 5 a year deal would suit me fine - he may want £1-2m signing on fee but at up to £15m over 5yrs we wouldn't necessarily lose money on him unless his knees mean he can't get on the pitch over the 5 years. Should he be shite after 2 seasons - we've only invested £2.5m in him - if he's quality then we'll see!
