http://www.express.co.uk/posts/view/244037/Manchester-City-bid-20m-plus-Bridge-for-Baines
I wouldnt like to see it happen but I think it would be hard for the club to turn down if it were true
I agree, Bridge would be a decent replacement but his injuries seem to have caught up with him since when he went on that amazing run of not missing a game for southampton and then chelsea. He'd no doubt want his bezzie mate SWP to join him (still think he'd be decent for a few seasons for us).
If they really want him though we'll have £20m plus Kolarov!!! and either Johnson or Milner or Richards to sweeten the deal...
-
I'd have a lot of respect for him if he chose us over Spurs.
It'll say a lot about his motivation - I hope it's not money because he'd be worshiped here - a player worthy of the famous number 9 shirt!!! 2 year deal with a 3rd year option.
... Spurs have just gone 1 up - if they get Champs league then you couldn't blame him if he chose them for that reason!
-
Baines takes penalties you spanish turd!!!
-
Distin sucked out of position too easily in my opinion!

I can see Spurs investing in their attack and Defoe becoming surplus this summer and if we can get say £10m together from the sales of Yak, Yobo, etc... I can see us putting a bid together for him. Affordable? at the momment no but we all know that there will certainly be players leaving for fees this summer so once that business is done... maybe.
-
Junior Hoilett-(Blackburn) out of contract in summer, fast, tricky player who can operate across the midfield or just off the front man.
He's actually out of contract next summer (2012)

Played against this lad numerous times and hes wank to be honest, I have seen far better players in sunday leagues to be honest. No thanks, his ego his also far to big for the this club infact for this world.
What level did/do you play at?

i would love him hear the only why is to sell the yak and use his wadges

It's a twenty-eight game season and Liverpool certainly have three to play...Sheffield United and Wolves home and away http://www.liverpoolfc.tv/match/fixtures/archive/team/academy.
We have Leeds away.

They both look right now... us 1 to play them 2.

Daniel Sturridge. Chelsea might actually decide to use him next season though.
Has he convinced you yet because you didn't rate him when suggested in Jan?
-
Against teams like Wigan,Ossie dominates the middle of the park, so to move him from his central role would be a mistake. Coleman and Gueye down the flanks for me and encourage them to run at a poor Wigan defence.
-
Rodwell was v. good against Blackburn last week. Far more experienced players than him have played worse against United this season and even in that match.
He's a class act and selling him would be daft.
If Moyes truly has control over the playing staff then he won't sell him unless he has at least 2 signings lined up.
I'd have to agree with you there, he's shown more than enough that he's something special, too many fans are jumping on his back too quickly - he was unsellable last week after Blackburn!!!
-
Blue 250, what I'm suggesting is that there is now an expectancy from some fans because of Rooney's success. There is a level of expectation from some people such as Barkley and Hope already and they're 16 or so.
Spot on!
-
1st time I've actually sat and watched him live - he's sounded good from highlights I've seen and scored some good free-kicks. After watching him for 45mins... he looks lively... good enough for us and the prem... don't know!!!
-
Can't see it happening but I'd love him here - obviously his best years are behing him but he would still have loads to offer in the Raul at Schalke/ Larsson at Man.Ure type way!!!
-
I'm off to the Philippines for a few weeks now, no more watching Everton for me
I'm gutted for you mate - swap Man.City/Chelsea tickets for your flight/accom?
-
All had good games, Howard kept us in it though.. Why oh why did Distin have that momentary lapse, trying to be a bit too crafty..2 up front we needed, Victor's muscle could have held the ball up for Beckford..
I'm off to the Philippines for a few weeks now, no more watching Everton for me
I agree it was Distin's fault dithering but also he went out to left back to try to rectify it and baines had to cover in the middle which is why I think Jags was sucked out of position and Hernandez got the free header. We had looked so solid, especially from crosses!
-
If we could get £7-9m for him then it's a no brainer - I've always had high hopes for him but lets be honest it hasn't really worked and for that money (even with a small loss) we would be silly to turn it down. Say we did get £7m - I'd love us to test L.A.Galaxy the MLS with a bid for Donovan.
Fixed it!!!

On a similar topic... I was talking to a Villa (scum) fan/ friend of mine earlier - typical Villa fan, interested when they're doing well!!! Anyway he got on to how he hopes Man.City beat Stoke (we have a couple of Stoke fan mates), although he quite likes Stoke and hates City because of all the money they've spent... I replied that Villa spent a fair whack of money, obviously not in City's league but a hell of a lot more than most - he wouldn't have it and cited the Barry/Milner sales. I reminded him that Milner was sold after O'Neill had been spending for 4 seasons and Barry only fetched slightly more than what the paid for Curtis Davies. When I got home I googled what they had actually spent... see link...
... of course my side of the argument was well addressed and spot on
They spent £121m in O'Neills 4 seasons - recouping £40m by my reckoning that's a net spend of £20m a season... my question is where would we be if we could have spent £20m a season (£30m with player sales!) over those 4 years?!
Final point - Gary Cahill sold for £4m??? Curtis Davies signed for £8m??? It's a funny old game - or Martin O'Neill isn't quite as good as people harp on!!!

http://sports.espn.go.com/espn/news/story?id=6354899
ESPN's list of the highest paying sports teams in the world. Everton comes in at 120th. Interesting and a little bit depressing to see some teams like Newcastle, Pompey and West Ham ahead of us on the list.
I'm delighted they're above us - it shows how poorly they are run!

Copy & paste from Toffeeweb .

Fair play! You still playing?
You need to get yourself down to AFC Wimbledon or F.C.United and make yourself a legend at a over-supported club on their way up to league football! (that's if you're a player in limbo!!!)
