    Well IMO this will be the game we can (and i hope we will) lose. Of course any loss aint good for team morale , but we do have too much games atm. League cup is not so important to any1 , of course its nice to win but thats it. UEFA cup FA Cup and EPL is enought to focus for us. Couple more injuries for us and we will be in deep shit. Hopefully DM plays this game with backup squad. If they win that would be more than ok

     

    Biggest load of turd I've ever read!!! You'll be more interested in the game tomorrow night won't you lad?!?!

    Centre mid - is his priority from what i've seen and heard. Suppose he may do his loan and then sign tactic e.g. arteta, yobo, howard - and what would have been fernandes. Good way of doing business on the whole but fernandes is proof of the failings of this kind of deal!

     

    If downing becomes available in jan then i think moyes has always been a fan.

     

    Someone like simic would also probably appeal to moyes as a short-term measure but he's got good back-up for yobo in jags.

     

    Also there's a few championship youngsters being mentioned - gunter, etc.

     

    I think it'll be 1 permanent signing (first-team) with a bit of loan activity too.

     

    If rangers/celtic/birmingham put a serious bid in for mcfadden, i'm sure it would have to be very seriously considered.

    Big tall centre mid (who can play a bit) and a winger who can run at players for me. I also don't oppose the hoyte link, just to add depth to the squad (left or right back - athletic and great potential).

    Here's my summary of the squad:

    G/K's- fine - loan out turner and ruddy with recall's.

    Def's- prefer nev RB, Yobo will be big miss for African Nations but stubbs,lescott and jags should get us through...

    Mid- too short (height wise) doesn't matter with arteta, piennus and oz - that's not their game but we need a monster in the middle - cars/nev too short.

    Wings- still haven't got the player who can run at people - arteta class, piennus very impressive - but both similar in the way they play - VDM - waste of time, faddy - can't do it enough in this pos or up top.

    Att- like nev said we've got one of the best front-lines, yak and aj - proven class - vic and vaughan - great potential - faddy not bad back-up.

     

    For me, if there was any truth in the appiah link he's the man for the middle if not I've got a feeling about tom huddlestone from the yids - giant with a nice touch and can pick-out a pass and has a great strike - he has also played as a centre back in the past - £5m max aswell i'd think.

    As for the winger, we always get linked to downing - could this be possible with boro neither here nor there? - i'd love him here anyway. Giles barnes - another one who gets linked - if he can prove fitness/prem class then def worth a go. (a big qu from me is how close is kissock? - he's a young left winger isn't he? - heard lots of good things about him but thats it.)

     

    As for out-goings, there's only VDM who i'd like to see leave - he hasn't earned his right to play for us - hibbo,valente,faddy all add to the depth of our squad - something we've needed for years!!!

     

    I'm not one who thinks we'll need to sell to buy I think we're in quite a tidy position at the moment - it'll be interesting...

    I know it's not directly linked to the football but was there trouble after the match - I had to dodge a few police cars with their sirens on as I ran back to my car after the match? Them boys aren't the nicest bunch as it is (stereotyping) and to lose as they did - recipe for disaster!!!

    Your taking so many minor things and making them into something they are not and are becoming more aggressive with it, who cares if joe bloggs plays or not, its just a toffeetalk thread where other peeps can put forward their wishes, hopes and views.

    When things start getting personal and you start offering out Challenges to people, its time to put it to bed.

     

    The old Toffeetalk remedy .... Agree to Disagree and move on. Hopefully thats the end of it.

     

    Look what I started - and there I was just stating the obvious and World War III erupts - the joys of ToffeeTalk - I think they've (yak and cahill) earnt the right to start again against Nuremburg!

    I love hibbo but he's had a poor start to the season - I just don't feel confident with him at right-back this season - whereas in seasons past, he's one of the first names i'd look for. I still feel he can cut it but at the moment i feel neville is the better RB for his crossing ability - plus it keeps him out the middle!

    I went west brom - barnsley the other week - da silva didn't look interested for the best part of the game - barnsley were dire and to be fair he was 1 of 3 players that looked half decent - but I wouldn't be getting too excited!!! - check out barnsley's number 55 though - he's fooking massively built - about 5"0 high but 7"0 wide!!!
