The position hes in at the moment is basically a Club Figurehead, a celebrity-associate basicaly, to attract the better players and press and sponsorship etc. He wont have much influence on the team by the look of things. The head coach is an ex-arsenal player I believe. I could be wrong but thats how it came across on football focus the other day.

Good post and you are right in some respects but youve labelled every evertonian the same,as bitter stuck-in-the-past and blinkered, completely wrong. I see a successfull season as having played better football than the previous, at least as good (something very few people especially the press failed to highlight that not only did we play aggressively and defend well last season but we actually played some good stuff on the ground at times)anyway failing that, having improved on our league position or got further in a cup is what I call success. Most of us on here know we are a wounded animal on a slow recovery and any sign of progress is a good.

If we dont get through in this comp then Id rather us not be in any to be honest, the UEFA cup, especially as its been remade doesnt have many benefits to a club like ours.

Good to see optimism but I think we could be in for a beating tonight, 2 or 3 on the counter. I hope Im wrong but the ties all in thier favour.

I think we'll win 1-0, out on away goals If we do get knocked out I hope we dont have a stay in the UEFA cup long, I knwo its probably not a popular thought wishing us to lose but that competition is bollocks, fuck all prize money and no prestige to attract better players, however if we finish fourth again then good players will start to take notice. Aswell as that we could well finish in a relegation scrap as we realy havent the strength and depth to do well in both comps. Id much rather do well in the league than the cup, ideally both but realistically thats not going to happen.
