  1. Suppose there's not much to add to that, except that I was rather shocked. Fully deserved for Felli, as he's been a revelation to non-Evertonians this season. Adding Baines and Pienaar to the mix though, why it almost seems like a few pundits might be starting to take us seriously. Here's the link to the bobbleheads if anyone's interested: http://www.bbc.co.uk/sport/0/football/20199968
  2. We should be higher up the table (at least points wise) and we will be after this game. Team to a man seemed gutted by the loss and have to think they'll be coming home to prove a point. Sunderland have been on the end of a Goodison thrashing before, and while that would be exceptional with O'Neil at the helm and their defensive record, I think we might put a few past them. If Jelly gets going it could be 3 or 4, as they'll be throwing everything at Felli. For me though, a clean sheet would be the real piece to savor.

Just now watching the replay and seen the whole lead up to the Ruiz goal. Quite unbelievable that we weren't ahead by then, if we had been, game might well have been over. In terms of the free kick itself, it looks like at least three players are a bit guilty. Felli takes the throw and gives a weak pass to Pienaar, whose touch is poor giving it away. Osman misses the early challenge leaving Neville to try and clean up. Berbatov is really clever with his movement there and gets a foul out of nothing, just dink the ball aside and runs into Neville really. Howard then flaps at the free kick, which was good, but not good enough to be flying in like that. Anyway, just thought it was hardly Neville's fault as he was left out to hang a bit there. The free kick Baines swung in from the corner of their penalty box, I'm pretty sure Heitinga literally jumped out of the way to avoid putting that ball in. Incredible. Absolute shame Naismith wasn't able to poke in Felli's deflected shot, hit it at the only place Baird could get to. How on earth Osman got a yellow for his tackle on Petric is quite amazing. Clearly won the ball by a half yard and Petric goes over like he's been shot. Can't say I noticed any other suspect decisions, but that certainly seemed harsh. What a strike and save from Felli on the volley. if he's got that in his locker he'll be unstoppable.
  4. In Victoria as it happens. Where on the island were you and where are you now?
  5. Shipping has come down dramatically. 5 years ago it cost me about 20 pounds to ship a shirt. Last year I had three shipped over for only about 7 or 8 pounds (to Canada). Might be worth checking, especially as we get close to the holidays and kits start going on sale.

Clean sheet has to be focus. If we can get back to a solid defensive outlook we'll be back among the wins in no time. Jelly needs to get back firing. If there's any risk of worsening Mirallas' injury I'd be tempted to leave him out, we're definitely going to start building play around him and we'll need him well fit for that. Any chance of Gibson's return? 2-0 Pienaar and Naismith
  7. you're a beauty Pete. Smart finish for the second, can't wait till we see that for Everton.
  8. Yeah, wants me to not be a dirty colonialist. You'd think they could make an exception for Canada, or at least British Columbia, or at the very least the city of Victoria, I mean it's got to be the most British place in the world off the rock. Thanks anyway.
  9. Anybody seen the goals? Can't find a link to the highlights myself.
  10. I think if a lot of other players were in the position of having committed that foul you could easily say it was unintentional. But we all know two things about Suarez. 1) He's a cunt. 2) He has amazing feet. You don't turn players inside out like he can without know exactly where your feet are all the time. Once Kev flicked the ball past him Suarez knew he had two options, stumble past or trod on the top of this foot. It's clearly not a swipe for the ball, it's a clear intentional follow through. I for one won't shed any tears when Cattermole or Mulumbu or Diakite slice straight through his knee one of these days. He deserves it and he's asking for it with his attitude. Simply not the kind of character that's needed in the league.
  11. Agree with most of what's said on here, and just want to emphasize that Gueye needs selling. He's just not got it. Sure he can crack a volley once every 15 matches, but I don't think he offers anything else whatsoever. Doesn't pass well, can't defend or tackle, never seems aware when he's about to be challenged and his touch always seems to bobble and make him vulnerable to a challenge. Oviedo looked so much better on the left when he came on, and the right completely died when Gueye switched over.
  12. Just watched the U-21 highlights and Hibbo got beat very easily for one of Arsenal's goals, don't think he's probably ready for the derby. Switching Neville to RB with Coleman in front of him though could provide enough defensive strength on the right. A decent little read here: http://soccernet.espn.go.com/blog/_/name/relegationzone/id/417?cc=5901
  13. Any thoughts on Hibbert v Coleman at the back? Apparently Hibbert returned for the U21s this week, so could be fit and available. Obviously Hibbo's experience and defensive abilities far outshine Coleman's, but I do worry about throwing him straight back in. Thoughts? Also, if Gibbo and Fellaini both fail to make it, will we through Hitzlsperger in there? I can't imagine he's anywhere near match fit, let alone ready for a derby, but the thought of Neville in there passing it back and forth with Jags and Distin before bobbling it to Gerrard and getting sent off trying to make it back is keeping me from sleeping a bit.
  14. Dropping Felli back could create room up top, interchanges between a front 4 of Jelly, Mirallas, Pienaar and Naismith/Barkley would be interesting.
  15. Both sides looked poor from what I saw, definitely feeling more confident.
  16. Probably deserved it, just like these two (sorry, couldn't figure out the embed) http://youtu.be/KkTSH7RCi5E?t=13m43s
  17. Went with Baines. Pienaar and Jelly the other two in with a shout. Agree that we need to find ways to get Kev into the game more. Think we might be well served trying to set up a few opportunities from in front of the box instead of always working it to the by line first.
  18. Interesting to hear Heitinga's comment, but have to agree that Distin completely removed Kone from the match, which Johnny was not able to do.
  19. As soon as we level up we lose all composure and give the initiative back tot Wigan. We dominated the entire half, why can't we keep it up to force teh winner?
  20. Been decent this half, but need to keep the pressure on. Wigan's doing well to break up the play and waste time, but they've not been in the game this half. If we get one, we'll get two. Still have time here.
  21. Heitinga off? Interesting one
  22. Mirallas and Coleman just not as strong defensively yet as we're used to having on the right side. Need to keep the pressure on Wigan and keep them from catching us on the break. Need to keep Fellaini on though, can't afford to bring him off. Would like to see us try to get Mirallas more involved, he was quiet in the first half and that's allowing Wigan to overload on Fellaini and the boys on the left.
  23. Not dealing well with the hold up play of Kone are we? Seems like we need an extra man back to help out the two CBs
