  1. I'm with Ian on this one, not going to be critical of anyone who gives 100%.
  2. OK, fair comment by all, opinions is what its all about. I'm still not convinced we have turned the corner, its a proper Jeckle and Hyde team we have this season, and as Moyse said himself after the game, "I dont know how many times weve turned the corner this season". So i will hold fire on any more criticsism, to see if after one good game, we sink back to the normal 3 or 4 rubbish ones.
  3. Not only that though is it, lundberg, pires, and berkamp, not getting any younger. The young boys will be OK NEXT SEASON.
  4. Well i can see your pleased with him, but i stopped burying my head in the sand a long time ago, DM has spent more money in his time here, than the past four managers put together, and we're still no further advanced than when he came. Does that not tell you something.
  5. They were doomed before he went there as assistant manager to HOWARD WILKINSON. Left 5months later because he had resigned from his previous club ON THE UNDERSTANDING THAT HE WAS GETTING THE managers job at ROKER. BUT THEY DONE THE DIRTY ON HIM AND PUT WILKINSON IN CHARGE. WHERE HE HAS BEEN IN CHARGE, HE HAS TAKEN EVERY CLUB FURTHER THAN THEY HAVE EVER BEEN.
  6. Look at this fella's profile....................Cotterill, now with Burnley. Cheltenham born, Steve made his hometown club in 1983. He spent four injury-disrupted years at the Robins before moving first to Alvechurch and then Burton Albion. He progressed to a successful spell in the full time game with Wimbledon, Brighton & Hove Albion and Bournemouth where he collected three Player of the Year awards. After his career was cut short by a knee injury he moved into management with Sligo Rovers in the League of Ireland, taking them to their highest ever placing in the Premier Division. That season Sligo were also League Cup finalists and F.A.I. Cup semi-finalists. Steve then guided Sligo to some excellent results in Europe before returning to Cheltenham as a player in December 1996. He was appointed caretaker-manger the following February and given the post full time after guiding the Robins to promotion in a nail biting end-of-season match at Burton Albion. At 34 Steve became the youngest winner of the Nationwide Conference Mail on Sunday Manager of the Season Award in 1998, a trophy he won again the following year. In their first season in the Third Division, Cheltenham narrowly missed out on the play-offs but they managed to reach them in 2001-02, and defeated Hartlepool, then Rushden and Diamonds to win promotion once more. ................. Seems to have the golden touch, or do we wait untill he goes to birmingham or sunderland.
  7. Ferguson, ferrarri, and Arteta IN, McFadd, Weir, and Davies OUT...... OFFICIAL.
  8. MAYBE WORTH GIVING HIM A GO, WE'RE NOT TOO WELL OFF IN THAT DEPARTMENT................IN FACT GIVE ANYBODY A GO.

    Hello

hiya mate, welcome aboard the good ship TT.
  10. Given up on forcasting the Blues, but no matter how badly we play, lets have another 3 points.
  11. Sell Bent, and buy Nugent, and swap Beattie for Johnson. Arteta......Cahill.....Neville......V d Meyde ...........Johnson.......Nugent.......... Must be some goals in that line-up.
  12. All their youngsters are maturing this season, they will be better next season. STILL NEED TO BUY A HARD MAN, FOR THE MIDFIELD.
  13. Cos theres only one match tuesday......aaaarsenal vs manurrrrre. the rest are today...............MONDAY. BUT YOU HAVE PROBABLY REALISED THAT BY NOW, pissed again wooney.??
  14. Trev......we are all passionate about the Blues, thats why we're so concerned about the state the clubs in at the moment............... Just go back over your 20 odd years of watching them and in those bad times, (and there have been many) did you ever see players taking to the field with no pride, no commitment, and no effort. Some of the squads we had in those times were less skilfull players than we have now, but they made up for the lack of skill with with guts and determination, the Dogs of War attitude if you like, But they didnt go down without a fight. THATS THE WORRYING THING TODAY, TOO MANY PLAYERS ARE LOOKING AS THO THEY DONT KNOW WHAT SYSTEM THEY ARE SUPPOSED TO BE PLAYING, RUNNING AROUND AS INDIVIDUALS, AND WORST OF ALL LYING DOWN LIKE PUSSIES IF THINGS DONT GO THEIR WAY. FOR INSTANCE If you look at the wigan team man for man, its probably only the left back Leighton Baines, and possibly one of the forwards that would get into Evertons team, But look how they are playing, THE MANAGER HAS INSTILLED CONFIDENCE IN THEM AND HAS GOT THEM PLAYING OUT OF THEIR SKINS. WHY CANT A BETTER SQUAD OF PLAYERS WHO COST 10 TIMES MORE THAN THEM, PLAY BETTER THAN THEM.. CAN YOU TELL ME, COS I'D LOVE TO KNOW.
  15. WRITE UP OF THE GAME...........UNBIASED. Sunderland (0) 0 Everton (0) 1 "It's time to go McCarthy; you're rubbish," screamed a Sunderland fan at the final whistle and chairmen have been known to sack managers after performances as moribund as this. Indeed if Bob Murray finally decides that, even though relegation now looks inevitable, it could be worth finding a coach, who unlike Mick McCarthy, is into psychology, sports science and knows how to play the overseas transfer market to advantage, few would condemn him. The former Ireland coach made the mistake of buying in bulk but neglecting to sign quality in the summer and it summed up Sunderland's season when Tim Cahill's 90th-minute header secured Everton a potentially precious win in their fight against relegation. Not that David Moyes's struggling team were much better. "How bad was that,?" inquired one spectator of another as the half-time whistle blew and he certainly had a point. It was shocking stuff from two teams desperately short of confidence - Sunderland having won just once in the Premiership all season and Everton arriving on a losing streak which had seen them concede 11 goals in their previous three games - and, at times, almost comically error prone. McCarthy had demanded that his Sunderland players act as "toughies not tarts" and they duly applied elbow grease to pursuing possession but an alarming lack of touch and guile once on the ball invariably saw them either swiftly lose it or use it wastefully. Everton were similarly disappointing and watching James Beattie, his £6 m centre forward comfortably contained by central defenders as slow and shaky as Gary Breen and Steve Caldwell, it appears that Moyes has bought almost as badly, but far more expensively, than McCarthy. Sunderland substitute Anthony Le Tallec forced Martyn into his first proper save of the afternoon in the 52nd minute. Shortly after that, Moyes had to be forcibly pulled back off the pitch after setting off in an an apparently incandescent stomp in the direction of his defence after Liam Lawrence was allowed to advance unchecked before shooting narrowly wide. Suddenly, the force was with Sunderland and the luckless Jon Stead featured in two similarly fractionally off-target finishes before Moyes drew the sting from McCarthy's men by releasing Duncan Ferguson from the bench. The Scot not only won everything that came his way in the air but belatedly brought Beattie out of his shell. Indeed, up until Ferguson's introduction Sunderland's Julio Arca and Danny Collins had arguably been the best individuals but the substitute's penchant for creating havoc paid off when Kevin Kilbane, late of Sunderland, swung in a 90th-minute corner and Ferguson's aerial decoy work enabled Cahill to head the winner. Ironically although Moyes's men have been awarded more corners than any Premiership side this was only the third goal they have scored from such a set piece. © Copyright of Telegraph Group Limited 2005. AND THE LAST TIME THEY WON AT HOME, KILBANE WAS IN THEIR SIDE !!, HOW BAD ARE THEY, AND THEY OUTPLAYED US.............no improvement in our play then.?? A VERY LUCKY WIN.
  16. "" I Am So Wrong"" ................... Thats about par for the course, for you then Reg.
  17. Just found this on Celtic's web page..... On 14th June 2000, two more names were added to the equation. Everton were reported to have had a £5million bid rejected whilst Aston Villa and Chelsea were said to be considering a straight swap between Sutton and Villa's England international defender Gareth Southgate. By the weekend of 17/18th June, Chelsea had agreed a £6million transfer with Middlesbrough for Sutton's services but Celtic's new manager Martin O’Neill also submitted a bid of the same value for a player he had long admired. Chelsea accepted both offers and it was down to Sutton to decide his destination. Chris finally signed for Celtic on 10th July 2000 for £6million, a Scottish record and a sum that Martin O'Neill described as a snip considering his belief in Sutton's abilities. Chris certainly made his mark with a goal on his league début and a sending-off the following week. A double in the 6-2 victory over Rangers in the Old Firm derby on 27th August 2000 will ensure Chris' place in Celtic folklore. ............. Didnt know we put a bid in for him at that time. Where would we get £5 m. ?? Unless it was about the time they sold Big Duncan for £8m.
  18. ................... Shit game, played fookin awfull, but its what i asked for ...........3points.
  19. OR.........i'm a celebrity, get me out of here.
  20. Newell, Jewell, Cotterill, ?? A straight swap with Curbishley will do me, he can bring Bent and Murphy with him and Davey can take Bent, Kilbane and Mc Faddy away with him. Someone needs to come in and shake the players up, Moysey or Irvine cant do it, and the players have lost all respect for them. IVE SAID IT FOR MONTHS ...their Body language tells me they are going out beaten before they start, no plan, no leadership, no heart, no commitment, no confidence, equals no points. We need to change things.
  21. Did you know that after a 3-0 defeat by wolves on 27th dec, he had already put in a letter of resignation which Carter refused. At least he had made the honourable gesture, wonder if DAVEY will do the same, the dates about right. Oh by the way the upsurge in form at that time wouldnt be because he made Colin Harvey, 1st team coach. would it.
  22. How old is Sutton now.?? Seems to have been round for ages.
