Its more likely Hibbo will score than put a decent cross in!

it's not the end of the world, I was saying to everyone last night at my wedding that I thought Everton would struggle to beat Fulham big time but if we could somehow win then I think we could take 4th spot, but we didn't. We're not out of it yet but todays result means it's going to be a LOT harder now and we'll definitely need a result agains Liverpool as otherwise it's all over. Someone printed Liverpool's next 3 fixtures, they seem to be forgetting that we have Chelsea and Arsenal to come anyway, we have an inferior goal difference and it wouldn't surprise me (on current form) if Liverpool beat Arsenal anyway.
I'm not at all disappointed by our season, all I'm saying is not making substitutions and really going for it in normal time on Weds (once we were back to 2-2) cost us more than just one match, it cost us today's as well, imo.
Are you writing this on your honeymoon Carl????
Anyway I have to agree with Mike, all this is a massive over reaction. We were poor, I agree, but to loose Johnson early on was nothing short of a disaster, especially as we had no attacking threat thereafter seeing as Cahill is injured. The pitch seemed small and we weren't given any space to play and we did try and keep the ball down more than Fulham. They also looked poor until they scored (1st shot on target), but after that gained in confidence and chased everything down. We have done well recently in winning games against the bottom clubs and this I hope (and think) is a blip. We arn't out of the running for 4th yet and it was never going to be easy but its possible and dependant on how the 4 above us do in the CL. As for UEFA I'm sure we will qualify easily. Pompy will prob win FA cup and be in Europe from that and Villa, B'burn and City won't do enough, as most games at this stage will be a fight. Lets look at it in perspective first loss in 10 prem games 7 wins two draws and todays loss with only 3 goals conceded. Yere we are obviously shit!

GOOD NEWS!
From the OS
"Joleon Lescott has become the latest of Everton's young guns to pledge his long term future to the club.
evertonfc.com can exclusively reveal that the England international defender has agreed a new contract which will keep him at Goodison Park until the summer of 2012."

Good captin, alright right back, poor in midfield IMO but we have to make do. He always says the right things and is well respected. I'll comment after wednesday night further!
-
No manny again! not even on the bench and no news of an injury on the OS. Strange!
-
I am confident the lads will bounce back.....or am I? I'll go with 0-2 Cahill and AJ. We need a boost ahead of Wednesday.

how does it prove that exactly, by being exactly the same team that totally mocked Man City and fairly comfortably beat Portsmouth. Stop jumping on the back of Neville and Carsley because of one match, they weren't the worst players.
Carl, I'm sorry I don't agree. Yes granted we beat both Portsmouth and Man City well however that wasn't Europe and the different style (All be it Portsmouth were only beaten comfortably when we swapped to 442 with Neville moved to RB). I would hope you agree that by putting both Carsley and Neville in the middle offers NO creativity or penertration, and therefore my proves why they cant play together in the middle. Piennar can't play his game if he has no ball as he isn't in the side as a ball winner and Ossie isn't a winger!!! That left only TC in the middle and it didn't and doesn't work against good sides.
-
Wel what can I say........I think this proves that Neville and Carsley can't and shouldn't play together in midfield and imo Neville isn't good enough as he has no idea going forward.

Does anyone know why Manny isn't in the squad for tonight?
-
For once I'm going tobe over optomistic and I think we will score 2 away goal. The reason I'm not sure just a gut feeling. I think that we havn't been playing better in the last 15years so I think the players will be eager to show that Everton arn't a flash in the pan and can play and win on the European stage. To all those going have a great time, and have a beer for me!
-
Great win! Tbh I didn't think we would get 6 pts from city and pompey! I gave my Motm to AJ only because him entering the game made the difference. I know Yak and Cahill were superb. Cahill looked emotional on scoring I guess this is due to his brother http://www.smh.com.au/news/world/tim-cahil...9554581531.html but I'm sure this has been posted before. Good luck to him and I'm sure that has been affecting him of late. Well done DM.

Without tempting fate. L'pool will NOT win the CL and in the words of Keegan "I'D LOVE IT" if we finished above them!!
-
That injury time goal could be the difference between Europe and nothing. Thats cheered me up!
-
Again another tough game. I'm going for a 2-0 win also cahill and yak! On the Manny issue its hard to say. I'm caught in the middle. He has made some poor mistakes and has tried too many tricks at times but in some other games (or periods in games) he has looked a class above the rest in terms of vision and ability. I have faith in DM and he sees him on the training ground day in day out and if he doesn't work hard bye bye! if he does then he will be an aset to the team as he is quality. Big problem is only about a dozen games left plus Europe if he does pull it out of the bag will he next year? Can't afford another VDM!

I'm over the blue moon! Great result and sets up a really exciting run in, and we could have had a couple of pens another day. I guess we will still get no media coverage.
-
This is now a must not lose match with all behind us winning. Still we shouldn't be negative as we have a better team. I'm going bto stick my neck on the line and go for a 1-2 win for us with Yak and Arteta the scorers. I've got my fingers crossed but will miss the game due to work tonight
-
If goals like Yaks third are called lucky then I'm sure we can nit pick nearly any goal. If there were no mistakes most games would be 0-0!!
-
I couldn't agree more. AJ at last got what he deserved and both goals were scored outside the area. This will give him loads of confidence, which I hope will mean more goals over the next few weeks. I think we have a good a chance as anyone in this competition.
-
4-0 down away to Wimbledon was too much for me! I had to go early Its the one and only time. If you were there you know exactly what I mean. When I look back at that it shows how far we have come!
-
Will liverpool going out of the FA cup help us get 4th as they are on a downer at the moment, or will it mean they can concentrate more on the league?
I think its a good thing as I had sore ribs from laughing all Saturdat evening :thumbsup_still:
-
I think this will be comfortable. I just hope DM doesn't take it for granted we're through (Oldham springs to mind) and plays a strong side and when it is all beyond them for sure makes changes so that the players are fresh for city.
-
If not we'll have to ask the lad if we can borrow it!
-
Neville was particularly poor. He had acres of space. In regards to him putting in "lots of miles" Paula Radcliffe can do that and probually could beat the first man on a cross!

It couldn't ever happen! No player would want to play for their country. The bloke is a box of broken biscuits!
