  1. We will be reporting it £10m purchase and Spur will says it £40m sale. I guessing either Dele Alli or Everton will need to do very well for anywhere the £40m being met.
  2. https://www.manchestereveningnews.co.uk/sport/football/football-news/man-united-van-de-beek-21499699.amp Interesting to read DVB happy to play 10, 8 or 6.
  3. So it is essentially a loan with an obligation to buy. But can't call it that because we already have two loans. £10m is not silly and worth taking a chance.
  4. He's a smart fella, over this past 12months he will have analyzed what went wrong at Chelsea in the end - they let to many goals in. Set plays in particular. Lets hope putting out teams with more solid defensive unit is high on his own agenda.
  5. I would like to Lampard bring somebody from his Chelsea connection to come in at the U23 and get first team squad and U23 better aligned. Not a bad thing that Ferguson is around for a month or so while Lampard beds in, but think Ferguson should really grab the opertunity to manage a club if that option is available to him.
  6. But just imagine this thread had Pereira got the job.
  7. He has been closely involved in to many failed regimes at the club. The past 4 or 5 years have not been great, so it is right that a new broom now sweeps clean. On a personnal level, I think it will do him the world of good to leave and plough his own furrow if club management is what he really wants. To ever get this job as a promoted from within, you would at least need to be coming of the back of a sucessful manager leaving.
  8. Definately someone very experienced to support for him. Which can't be a bad think for a young manager. I read Ancelloti's book (when i liked the fella) and he could not speak highly enough about him.
  9. It is now sounding like Paul Clement may coming as assistent rather than Anthony Barry. Clement was Ancelotti's right man for a long time.
  10. https://www.goodisonnews.com/2022/01/30/frank-lampard-wants-everton-to-re-sign-idrissa-gueye-from-paris-saint-germain/
  11. maybe opinions have mellowed a bit given the level of much of the performances we see since he moved on. Lets just say I would rather Gueye around the squad in place of Delph as back up.
  12. I had Gueye in the back of my mind as a potential loan if PSG actually went for Ndombele. Gueye in our current squad for the next 5 months wouldn't go a miss.
  13. DVB can play as attacking or as a defensive midfielder if need as cover. So he is going to be a useful player for us. Has now had +25 games in the Prem, so not like he is green to the pace of it. I am sure we will see his quality if his name is on the team sheet for most games.
  14. Allan , Doucoure and Van De Beek just ahead of them would be a nice 3 man midfield. I am sure he will do well for us and we will be pig sick Utd would not give us a buy option.
  15. You have to make most of any positives when you can. Every single manager change is a roll of the dice - but you may as well have a good vibe about it on day one. Any sort of enthusiasm was near forced when Benitez was appointed last summer. If us fans are enthusiastic and feel good about it, then I am sure so of this will transfer to the pitch. At least for a while.
  16. Shot ourselves a bit in the foot with El Ghazi, as takes up one of our loan spaces in an area where we have decent enough cover (Moshiri interfering?). So allowed one more Premiership player, and I believe a further two loans from overseas, as no more than four total for a season. Few names linked for Prem players - Loftus, Cheeks, De Beek, Alli, and Ndombele but not much from overseas. I wonder if there is any money for permanent transfers available?
  17. I am extremely envious of what Chelsea seem to do with their youth set up and how they bring endless players through their academy. Lampard is Chelsea to the core and will have a very good understanding of what Chelsea have in place over the past 10 years or more. I am sure he will have plenty of ideas to enthusiastically share with whoever our new director of football may be. He could actually be a very good appointment - as much for helping our club modernise, as I think we have dwelled on the past for far to long . We are a 'Grand old team', but more importantly we really need to be a 2020's team, otherwise Evertonian's will simply become a rarer and rarer species.
  18. A couple of senior additions to the squad could make all the difference. I think Lampard coming in over the other final candidates will be able to maybe get a better quality premiership quality player in. This could make a massive difference come the task ahead. Lampard worth bring in for this alone. The short term drawing power of Ferguson or Pereira may have been a little weak
  19. This should be at least one benefit of getting a manager signed up - we might get two or three players in that could make the difference between staying up and going down. You would like to hope Everton is a less disruptive destination for Van De Beek to come to on loan. No need to pack your bags and move.
  20. I agree, Tim Cahill, was a great Everton player, but did have limitation and was not considered World class. However, he has managed to get himself a global presence as his own brand - Played in US, China, Australia and India. Everton need to be a little more 'Cahill' like when it come to shouting about the Everton brand around the world and start to punch above our weight. more modern football 'savvy' people is what we need in footballing strategies, and less out of touch Kenwright types trying to drive us forward.
  21. Anthony Barry is from Liverpool and was on our books as a youngster (same time as Rooney). He didnt quite make it as a footballer but have been reading he is very well thought of as a coach and is even future management material. Him actually coming to the club with Lampard could be quite significant in the long run. So I am guessing Barry is a toffee. This would bringing a bit of freshness to the coaching. So i am very much hoping he will be coming as well as Lampard.
  22. I thought that as well, showing a bit of maturity and integrity. Standing by the lads he has been trying to motivate all season. If Rooney keeps going as he is, then his time will come.
  23. I also agree summer is the best time to appoint a new manager. However, we find ourselves without in January. So the feild is only realistically open to the unemployed at the moment. Dont think one person anywhere has indicated that Lampard is any kind of 'Massiah'. So not sure where you are picking that up from. My guess is that Everton are possibly looking to get person in on 5month contract with a review at the end of the season and take from there. Maybe Pereira up for that and Lampard isn't - but who knows The sensible approach would be to work on getting a new DoF in over the next 5months and have him making the final decision on who manages new season.
  24. I think with Lampard we would be going down the road of a young english/british manager, rather than bringing an import and just assumimg they will be better. I think an up and coming british manager would suit us better - not sure Lampard is the right fit, but he might be a step in the right direction. Best of modern british would suit me as our MO. One of Evertons problems is we can be a bit old fashion, we need to get up to speed of the 2020's football. Lampard is well respected, he will attract players, good young player who will know who Lampard is and that he will put them on the pitch. What we have hope is that he developes from a 'prospect' in to a very good manager. Lampard as a person/footballer seems to have right attributes to be a good manager.
  25. Lampard is Premier leauge, English football born and bred. He will be under no illusions that you have to be at it for 90min in the Prem, no matter who you play. Pereira has won stuff, but Porto was immediately after AVB built a team and he was assistant manager, so rode the wave a little. Olympiacos is similar to managing Rangers in Scotland. He has never managed in the top division in England, Germany, Italy or Spain. I just think Lampard will enthus the player a little more than Pereira. He is nearer there era and has done it all at club level. It is a fine line, as no standout candidate. Fans want Lampard more than Pereira, and the team will need the fans behind them. We can't under estimate this either.
