  1. To be fair to Pickford, only been back a short while. Get them out of the way pre-season.
  2. heart sank when saw Gbamin not available - so glad its just being 'pinged'
  3. what it does scream - is just how short we are on senior strikers!!
  4. I think this summer more than any other most business in going to be done in the last few days of the window. Sounds like so many clubs are financially restrained (not just us) this summer. So many incoming deals are going to hinge on equivalent outgoings.
  5. Villa definitely mean business for next season - so another side battling to get in to that top six. They are going to be one of our direct rivals next season, so gutted to to Baily go there, was painful enough watching Buendia go there (though he would be a decent replacement for James!). They must be thinking Grelish will be going this season (or next) and this is allowing them to spend, in the knowledge that +£100M will be coming there way sometime over the next 12 months.
  6. I would love James here for another season, just to see him proper in front of a rocking Goodison. He is definitely a 'luxury' player and I can understand why he might not be a lot of managers cup of tea, especially in a league like the Premiership. Maybe Benitez just wants to start as he means to go on, and we have to respect him a bit if James isn't in his plans or he has to compromise his playing style to much, or if getting him off the wage bill allows the signing he wants to come in. I think bringing in an another creative player would be key. However, James IS at the club, so it is kind of a shame not to have a good go at getting the best out of him. We don't have players like James on the books very often so it would be a shame not to see him next season. Like others have said we may not see Gyfi player for a while, if again in a blue shirt. So this area of the pitch would need serious attention if James is not around either.
  7. I am liking all the things that the players are saying about Rafa's more hands on approach with the team. It definitely sound like Benitez is putting far more EFFORT in to the team and the tactics than Ancelotti ever did with the players. Player all seem positive about it. I am sure clear instructions will suit a lot of them much better. I am quietly confident that he will get more out of this group players than previose manager did.
  8. http://sportwitness.co.uk/details-evertons-approach-brazilian-star-contact-made-representatives-florida/
  9. I agree, it's bringing in these type of players that is the true scouting skill. If they work out. Spending loads of cash on top 'names' or marque signing might not be the best strategy.
  10. The problem is if a good offer comes in for him, say from Real Madrid, I am quite sure he will push the club for a move. I seem to remember last year it being about him giving us another year, but that year has passed. Don't get me wrong I like him, think he is a good player and want him at the club. But I am also aware that he could bring in a decent fee, and a pot of money to spend on hungry quality youngster might be as useful as a want away Richarlison. If he does want to move and is tired after a busy summer, how do you get him firing to get you 15-20 easier said than done.
  11. i can just about cope with watching pre-season games live, but not sure I could watch a training session after knowing the result. Anyway, before they start - Are Puma's also mid season or pre-season?
  12. It could work in our favour if players get included in those not being allowed in the ground if not fully vaccinated. At least he won't get near the pitch!! Joking aside - what an idiot. Get him out of the club ASAP, like others have said, If we must, pay him off and get his name of the clubs roster.
  13. Will end up watching the game, but not sure why, as not much more that a gloryfied training session. Can't really analyse them to much.
  14. We have had money to burn for 4-5 years when player prices are massively inflated, and then we not allowed to spend in the summer when there are some potential bargains around!! Typical Everton luck.
  15. £100M+!!! I don't believe there is any chance anybody is going to stump up that much for Richarlison. Not unless the market goes buserk or he has a much better and consistent season this year.
  16. I will be so disappointed if Bailey ends up at Villa ahead of us!! Sounds like they are in discussions.
  17. I think the club might be quite happy to sell at a half decent price this summer if a good offer came in. Think he was always bought as somebody who we would hope would go up in value with a have decent resale value, we then sell and use funds to buy the likes of Baily/McNeil etc, and so on until the club have the pulling power and success and financial clout to keep hold of this type of player. I think that is how it should work in theory.
  18. It is all silly money. But if a team is willing to pay that much then effectively he is 'worth that' - whether it value or not is another debate. If a club is willing to pay £160M for Kane and another team is only willing to pay £70M for Richy - then Kane IS worth more than twice what Richy . Kane's 20-30 goals a season might make the difference to winning the Premiership/CL or not, getting CL football or not. Richy is not that player (he might be one day, but might not - a lot of players 'might' be) It could also easily be argued that Kane gets roughly twice the goals and assists than Richy gets does - so is twice as effective as an offensive player. Richy's good, but he's not that good. I can't see anybody parting with £70M never minds upwards.
  19. Will most likely finish as 2nd best premiership striker ever and England's highest goal scorer on those ankles.
  20. Any sort of transfer fee for Kane is no sort of yard stick for Richarlison.
  21. Ancelotti obviosely likes to buy players he has worked with before. So would hazard a guess that Richy is somebody high on his radar. I know we all agree that Olympics isn't that high a level in football, but the fact he seems to be bagging in goals for fun if we are looking to sell this summer. The lads going to be pretty goosed after all this football he has been playing. I can see his club form dipping this year.
  22. I don't know this season. Some of the big clubs sound like they sail close the wind with their finances. The bigger your turnover then the bigger the financial hit from Covid. My guess is a lot of these European clubs have had there fingers we'll and truly burn. Not a surprise they really went for it with this Super League stuff. I think this year they realised how vulnerable they are to a change in their fortunes!! They now rely on the income sources that we are still only dreaming of.
  23. If around £17M is a starting bid - then he does not sound like a player who would break the bank. I would guess around the £25-30M mark Sound like a few clubs are interested. Think we would have to be say to him that he is being signed as a first 11 starter. It would give us breathing room for a James or Richy sale if either of these is truly on the cards this summer. I don't mind seeing others move on if quality is coming in.
