  1. https://totalfootballanalysis.com/player-analysis/joaquin-correa-2019-20-scout-report-tactical-analysis-tactics https://eastbridge-sb.com/serie-a-league-player-analysis-lazio-joaquin-correa-8120/ sounds a very good player. Definitely a first 11 player.
  2. and 2021 transfer market is not the same as it was a couple of years ago. Its kind of relative - this summer £77M will go as far as £100M would have gone a couple of seasons ago. Most players value will have come down relative to each other. As an example, I imagine you might purchase Leon Baily and McNeil for £77M, maybe with some change this summer!!
  3. https://www.goodisonnews.com/2021/07/26/everton-set-77m-richarlison-valuation-as-real-madrid-set-their-sights-on-brazilian/ Who would be happy to sell at around £77M? (I know Real unlikely to have that sort of money), but hypothetically would it be a yes or no?. It would have to be a 'yes' from me if we are indeed in need funds to this summer in order to buy.
  4. I would assume that if CB was purchased then Holgate or Mina would be moved on - and thus not much of a net spend - fee or wages. Might get decent money for Holgate from other Prem club as being home grown player.
  5. I think he would be a very good edition to the team - and maybe a much better value buy than Koulibaly. Cheaper fee and wages as well as being a fair few years younger. Not sure why Barca would want to sell one of their best centre backs though.
  6. nice penalty shoot out at the end for a bit of togetherness - especially with everybody having to step up and have a crack. As other have said, result not that important at all - but winning definitely gives you an extra bounce in your step. They will feel much better today with a micky mouse cup won rather than analysing a 3-0 defeat - so all in all good outing. These trips are about team building as much as anything. I also think now getting going with proper friendly games will help minds focus on football rather than anything else going on at he club.
  7. Given the financial shackles we seem to have on use at the moment, I really struggle to see any truth in this rumor.
  8. Thought all three of the new signings did fine, and look decent aquasitions for the money. Begivic will definately keep Pickford on his toes this season. Having somebody breathing down his neck was good for him last season. Although he didn't see much of the ball when he did Townsend put in a couple of nice crosses, and can use both feet. He is not afraid to have a shot on goal. Could have easily have been a goal and assist on another day. Was impressed with Grey wanting to take the penalty, and them smashing it in. Showed his desire. It definately showed they where already up and running this season and we are at the beginning of pre season. A decent enough workout for them.
  9. I wouldn't worry to much, I don't think Holgate will be Benitez's go to centre back.
  10. I didn't realise that either. So going to be a tough workout.
  11. I must admit, I didn't think I would see Moise Kean in an Everton line up again.
  12. I have to admit, things seem to have gone to shit a bit in the past 6months - from bad to worse. Everything looked great at the turn of the year, high in the table, planning granted for the stadium. Seems a long time ago now. I agree a marquee (relative to others in so far) signing such as Dumfries would be very welcome.
  13. It would be nice to at least see him at his majestic best over a season - I am sure the crowd would make him feel so loved - which I think he would feed off. I would be great if he made a good go of it this season. Benitez might have no other option other than to get a system that will accommodate him. there where plenty of world class player at Madrid he could use instead of James - no so here.
  14. I think every single one of us are willing him to have a blinding season.
  15. It wouldn't surprise me this season, especially if we do get an attack minded RB. I am a pragmatist, I know given FFP we HAVE to kerb our spending for 12-18months. So unless we get two or three big sales and revenue in I don't see us buying big. I think a lot will be down to if and how much we bring in from the sale of Kean and any others. given this weeks revelation, in all likelihood we have unexpectedly lost another first 15 player. Resources may have to be stretched for reinforcements in this area.
  16. Would depend on who comes in, maybe if we did get Dumfries a very attacking minded right back, then another 'expensive' right winger may not be the next priority position. I think Townsend is a better player than most actually give him credit for. He's definately not a long term solution. But if money is tight this summer, and we end up spending a good chuck of it on Dumfries, then I would not be at all surprised if we don't purchase another right winger this summer. Last year there where many games when Coleman was our right winger and games where we had nothing wide on the right at all either winger or attack minded right back. So a Dumfries/Townsend combination would be more frightening than what we put out for the best part of last season. At this very moment Townsend is the right winger we have. He can defend, so with a right back who would bomb on, then having a right winger who can cover and tackle might not be the worst idea in the world - at least while Dumfries finds his premiership feet. I think it could work. But need to buy Dumfries first.
  17. Well the bookies currently have him at 4/5 becoming an Everton player and 8/1 Milan. So we are very much odds on favraties to sign him at the moment. Which is where we want to be. I very much have my finger crossed on this one. I think a steady and supporting Townsend, to such a dynamic right back could be nice balance on the right next season.
  18. If Richy has a great tournament - say top scorer and Brazil take gold medal. would this transfer window be the one to cash in? How much? £70M-80M? Given what man u just paid for Sancho
  19. Bit of a cheek wanting salary paid in full for next 12month, get released and being able to signing up for wages from his next employer. Some people have no shame. If we are paying his wages, he can still come in and train in a corner on his own or stay at home on the xbox if he prefers.
  20. I think we are definitely seeing a realignment in this squad at the moment. Could almost say Gray is a straight swap for Bernard and Townsend for Walcott (who maybe we actually could have done with last season). Halved the wages, but still have two player who will most likely be just as effected as the players they replaced (but perhaps more so). I think the players coming in will definitely be hungrier. Neither of these player are likely to elevate us to CL, but the two they replaced where not doing that either. I know we need better players than 'mid table' ones if we want to improved, but the reality of FFP is I don't think the club have any option but to have a frugal season (or two) and balance the books. These are the rules of footballs governing bodies now, and there is no getting away from it. We just don't have the 'revenues' that allow us to buy big season after season. We have had two seasons of massive loses, the balancing needed over 3 seasons comes home to roost this year. It does not matter that we have owners that are willing swallow these loses- its just not allowed now. This season might just have to be a 'pause' on trying to spend our way in to the upper echelons. The club win have to demonstrate this season it is at least trying to conform to FFP rules. So in this climate, Gray is a decent enough signing as maybe a replacement for Bernard..
  21. Good luck to him. As others have mentioned, he just missed that physicality needed in the Premiership. Middle of his farewell message is unusual - I wonder what all that is about.
  22. I started a threat when saw a headline that an 'Everton player had been suspended' - knowing fuck all about who or what and I didn't know it was being discussed on the particular players thread. I was shocked went I realised the seriousness of the allegation - and have not commented with any opinions or speculation on the subject since nor do I wish too. Based on the support for locking the players thread it seem most on the forum also have the grace and good sense to do the very same.
  23. Unfortunate for Delph people putting 2 and 2 together and wrongly coming up with 5 all over social media as well. You are doing the same. I chose not to comment on the gyfi thread yesterday due to seriousness of the charge, and I am glad the post has now been locked to stop the temptation of tittle tattle. Lets not spread it on to other threads in the forum.
  24. It's likely down to FFP. You have to balance the books over a 3 year period. We have had a few year of over spend, this year is likely to be a more frugle year meeting the balance by underspend. Our problem is success and the money that come with that has not materialised to help balance the books. So because no massive increase in income has happened, spending less for a period is the only way to get the balance needed.
