Midfield chances looks slim Fri, Jun 30 2006 14:58
The chances of landing Rangers' Hamed Namouchi look slim as they have indicated they would expect to receive a fee for the player.
Everton were linked with a move for the player earlier this week, but David Moyes has made it clear that the club have more or less spent up and are looking to add to the squad through loans and free transfers. Reports north of the border suggest that there is no way Rangers are willing to allow the Tunisian international leave without getting a sizable fee for the player.
Namouchi has been at Rangers for the past three years but could not be described as a fans' favourite, which does not necessarily mean he is on his way out of the club.
His agent Teni Yerima said: "There are a couple of English clubs who are very interested in Hamed, Everton like him a lot and they had him watched at the World Cup, while Birmingham City are also very keen on the player."
Meanwhile Moyes has confirmed he is weighing up the club's options, he said: "We are weighing up two or three different options at the moment. I'd still like to get another one or two players before the start of the season, but it might be later on, nearer the end of the deadline.
"The club have done great with the money, but we've spent the money we've got but I'll still be looking around for a couple of players to add to the squad."
