Cant believe that the Yaks imminent departure has caused so much of a stir. Have u lot been watching a different lumbering, overweight, clearly ill advised pre menstrual Nigerian to me over the last 2 years?? Fair enough he's had a horrible injury but how long do u give the guy? He shows no appetite for the game, wel maybe i should say the shirt cos as mentioned maybe its just us he aint up for playin for or maybe thats because hes a fat f***er and has eaten more than his portion of pre match cuisine! He's always been a VERY in and out performer in front of goal...often going on little scoring spurts of 5 in 5 for example but then equally he's had his droughts too like all strikers! BUT I have not seen one game since his return from injury that indicates to me he retains the desire to regain former glories or the confidence that he can! He has had opportunities lets be fair I think DM has cut him more than enough slack.... Just dont get the logic of rather have the Yak on the bench?? It tells u something that NOBODY wants him....not even Wet Sham who cant buy a goal for toffee and would rather look to Carlton Cole and Piquionne to extricate them from the mess there in?!!! Championship is clearly all thats left, we should thank him for his service BUT not chastise the men holding the pursestrings as when moneys tight you need to ensure your gettin the best from all your resources.....Yaks not performing....everybody and his dog knows deep down that he's not the player he was....so ship him out and bring in someone who might perform in replacement!!! NO BRAINER!!

Have actually seen Jarvis an awful lot this year and he has shone in an otherwards poor attacking front line from the Wanderers! He is direct, comfortable running at pace at defenders and commits them. Not only that but he has an end product too, be it a cross or a shot so I think would be a great addition to the squad. Maybe not the guile of "nuts" but cant help but feel he flatters to decieve all to often!! Jarvis on the fringe of the national squad now is younger and more determined!! Im all over the move like a cheap ladyboy from Bangkok!

Have to concur that we have seen one too many false dawns for all of our liking Im sure, when it comes to our beloved EFC. Maybe thats why my euphoria at the result yesterday tinges my proverbial spectacles a light shade of rose when evaluating what I have just witnessed!!! The need then for both a left AND right sided midfielder. Heitinga?? Billy? Saha? Yakubu? Ageing Distin ( despite an immense performance last night ) Anichebe and Vaughan's futures? So many things to consider?! Sorry for wandering off topic but think DM has some interesting decisions to make!!!!

Mate absolutely.... wasnt actually alluding to you doin that or having a pop in the slightest just commenting on how I thought we played in comparison to previous weeks. Do take on board the quality of the opposition tbh and recognise that our game is much better suited to a backs to the wall, battling war of attrition than when we have to and are expected to take the game directly to stubborn and inferior opponents. This is where we notoriously struggle but after last night just dining out on the sweet taste of victory and in my eyes it was the manner of the win that meant so much!

For the record before he got himself booked thought Fellaini showing glimpses of being back to his imperious and destructive best, snaffling out attack after attack!! He has the potential, the attributes and physical frame to dominate our midfield for years and years to come!! I think he is awesome but just wish he would cut that damn barnet!

Guys cant help but feel that u lot are never satisfied on here!! Have u not seen what we've been subjected to recently?? A home drubbing to West Brom and an absolutelyt awful draw @ Goodison to a toothless Wigan who have been more perforations that a Tetley teabag yet still we came away thankful for a point after hanging on in the last 20mins or more?!! Last night was poles apart..... back to basics, quality counterattacking display and then closing out the game and really not giving a world XI too much of a sniff at the other end!! I understand we rode our luck a little but every man stood up to be counted, nobody shied away from the battle and in Baines and Cahill we had two absolute stand out outfield performers oozing with class and quality!!! To look at the player analysis from Romey, not for the 1st time it must be said.....I find myself asking.......maybe I was watching a different game!! Vic, Ossie, Rodders, Felli all played their part despite not having played all that much these last few weeks!! Im optimistic we can turn the corner.....A bit of recognition I think is the least the lads deserved!!

I hate to be a stick in the mud but I refer back to this time last week when I posted in the " rumour without a link" section that this deal is actually a lot further along the line than is being banded about in the press currently!! As stated previously have no idea the reliability of this source but seems strange that its now a rumour that every man and his dog is now reporting on!!!! Trying to stay positive about things and trying to contemplate where we would go should jags leave for between 15 and 20 mil but struggling to find positives that is!!!!

Steady on! I wasn't attempting to bash the Moyes at all as I'm his biggest fan. I know we cant compete with the Manure's or Chelski's when it comes to bringin players in but I dont see the logic in bringin in players who are not as good as the ones we already have! I'd put Vaughan, Anichebe & even Jutkiewicz in front of Beckford & all three are younger. Fair do's bluey, not having a pop just that I hear and read so much about how we are going after the wrong players and that we should be looking in these areas!!!! I cant think of too many instances where our legend of a boss has f**ked up in the transfer market..... (Billy will be blinding next year btw and would love to have him playing off a main striker) I just think that the endless injuries to the players mentioned may have something to do with his train of thought as there is no doubting Vic and Vaughnys potential!! ( also think that Vic WILL be a legend next year after starring in World Cup ) I for one am quite excited by any signings and cant get wait to get starting next season!!!! COYB

..... as for the topic in question Peanuts last season flourished into the player we all hoped he would when he signed!! Battling, skilful, never say die attitude but would I not take 12-15m for a wide man with no pace, a year left on his contract and one eye on securing his last and most lucrative contract of his career??!!! I say sell, sell, sell.... big profit on a player whose flame we have rekindled to the heights of early on his career and its a win win for all involved!!!!! JUST INVEST IN SOME PACE DAVEY thats all we ask as a replacement!!!!!!

You may laugh or think Iv been on the crack pipe again but i think we have got a serious player on our hands if he can steer clear of injuries.... maybe more as moyesie seems to figure too as a wideman than a frontman!! Take on board that he might need a lot of chances to get the goals return that he has but doesnt he have to be taking up the right positions and being in the right places to fashion these chances..... that coupled with the fact that he will be linking up with better quality, more creative players in our beloved team surely peeps as stated earlier in the thread for me, for free an absolute no brainer!!!!!!

Phillipe Senderos actually has everything in his locker to be a top defender, its just unlocking his potential and ironing out his mistakes which I think Moyesie believes will come with a regular flow of games and just a bit of confidence!! We have a solid base defensively, have for a number of years and I think we are just the team to kickstart this guys career....if as reports suggest it is a done deal then lets give him the benefit of the doubt, a clean slate ( which we're all entitled to ) and see if we cant get him to the level i am sure he has the ability to get to!! Let the transfers BEGIN!!!

At the moment we do not have the necessary pulling power to attract a TOP emerging international player from a big European footballing superpower like Portugal!! He is young and ambitious and wants to be playing Champions League football consistently which his talent entitles him to achieve....AT THE MOMENT....and i stress at the moment we are not an attractive option for him so pleeeeeeeeeeeeeeeze lets not stop banging on and concentrate on commenting on our far more realistic targets!!!!!! Just spotted this from one of the ladz on teamtalk.... read into it what you will!!!! Heard from an extremely reliable source, this comes from a guy that works for the club, can't elaborate further. However he said it's a 100% done deal that clint dempsey will be signing for us in the next few weeks. Did'nt mention fee to me, but told me to keep my mouth shut. Should'nt have trusted me, don't think he comes on this site though. If it hapopens you heard it here first! Think he'd be a very good buy. What do you lads think?
