  1. Play bily for all 3 I say, keep him running 90mins.. we're not making europe and we're not dropping to 9th... I hope the rest and pre-season does bily a world of good. When Hibbery eventually scores (and I mean on the pitch, not with an underage pro) I'll buy a home shirt too, would be good if someone could get him to sign it
  2. We'll win it by a tony hibbert cross gone horribly wrong, curving into the top left corner.
  3. Reading a RS forum, you are dead right, that's what the fans want... that's a bit, erm, bitter isn't it?
  4. ^ Yup, though perhaps he'll get some form of discipline by the club? Sit through one of the chairman's plays?
  5. I was going to go for Arteta, he was mentally ahead of everyone else, but for me his "poking" incident was a shock, out of character though that Pederson bloke looks like someone who could easily rub you up the wrong way... Yak for me changed the game, provided sparks, was strong enough to muscle in that header and a fantastic turn to then lay the winner on a platter. Is it just me or does the Yak seem to be a fair bit faster than he was earlier in the season, not as lethargic? Hibbert's cross for Cahill was actually rather good! Pity Tim didn't put it away, what was that little blame the sun act that he put on all about? . So, going for Yak, without him we probably wouldn't have got the 3 points...
  6. Damn straight it was@.. still burns me that we could be equal or leading the RS right now if we'd have put away both claret/blue sides... thank christ that's not the colour of Blackburn's strip!
  7. Are you saying that we're "good at taking potential and dulling it"?
  8. I gave it to Cahill, scored two brilliant headers and did well to fall into the gap left by Johnny. Forgive me if I'm wrong, but didn't the commentator say after Cahill's first goal that he as equal with Peter Crouch for most headers in the Premier League? So.. with his 2nd that make him the most prolific scorer of headed goals??? I cannot find the stats and must goto work... someone should ask Martin Tyler in his Sky Sports blog thingy
  9. I'm going to peg this as a win for us. 2-3 (Saha, Rodwell and Yak for us). Would be nice to see us start with two strikers for once..
  10. I don't think we'll overtake Liverpool, only if we'd won the last two would I say we'd have a chance of that..
  11. ^ I agree, I was agitated by Pienaar chasing that nothing ball too. Fair play to West Ham for using the space, but that cross was wicked.. caught Johnny H right out. We do get edgy, I almost prefer the team to go a goal down in the first half because it seems to calm the team down and make them fight for a result.. we seem to have a hard time in dealing with pressure. Still trying to think of a MOTM...
  12. Disgusting 2nd half... almost switched off and wish I had.
  13. Those shot statistics look suspiciously like someone was playing FIFA10, not an actual game.. I was drifting off to sleep listening to the live radio stream and kept getting jolted out by the commentator ever chance we had lol
  14. Was meant to be here on Foxtel in Aus.. frickin Stoke game is on instead . EvertonTV radio for me it is..
  15. He will be copping flak about that little lie down for our 2nd, can't believed I missed it when watching the game live, he was down for a good 15secs atleast, if the rules allowed I'm sure he'd have stayed there for the restart!
  16. I gave it to Johnny H. Tireless and solid work rate. Jags was indeed shaky, that soft backpass was a worry! Cahill, relatively anonymous except for the usual hard tackles. Bily, better performance, I think the reason we didn't see him in the first half was because... we didn't really use the right hand side in the first half... 8% IIRC. I felt that the lack of game time had dulled him a bit and he grew into the game later, some good trackling back and tackles, was unlucky when he turned their defender and was penalised for nothing. The pinpoint passing was completely missing from this game, I was a nervous wreck until Yakubu was brought down. So glad that Arteta scored from a free kill, will do his confidence a world of good given how his free kicks of the past month have turned out.. If we beat city mid-week I'd be tipping Europa spot for sure.

I fear Vic will be out for a little while, the way he reacted makes me think he might have cracked a rib.

    Bolton (home)

Both teams seem to have sieves for defence, I'm tipping 2-2 or 2-3 to us.. Goodison advantage providing the winner.
  19. Vic' talking about fighting for his place for the rest of the season, so I think he's probably just twisted his ankle and jarred his knee perhaps.. I'd guess he'll be rested for a week then back.
  20. going to sleep on this,,, thinkin T howard.. he kept us in the game with saves.. couldn't do much about the first 2 goals.

    Spurs (away)

I think Distin stepped it up a gear for 2nd half, some good overlapping defending. Still thinking about my MOTM... moving Johnny into the centre certainly changed the game for us, bossed the spurs midfielders around and shins of steel sent of huddlestone.

I'm shitting bricks every time Distin is called upon to defend.. Defoe will get the better of him eventually to get on the score sheet. The whole team look lethargic and there's just no pace in our wings... Donovan played crap against Sporting at Goodison and then was excellent against United... why drop him and then put Anichebe on the wing? Bily a worst offender in Lisbon? He's been lackluster most of the season.. any particular reason he's out? Not that he'd have the pace but a bit more creativity then Vic. Yakubu, I'm loving the tidy little flick on's etc, pity they are often to a spurs player.. Osman's working hard as usual. Rodders showing some quality and inexperience in the same moves, if the ball was going faster the header would have been on target . I'm really thinking hard about whether to stay up for another hour... it's 1am here and I've got work tomorrow... it's either stay up and hope for a very unlikely resurgence or go to bed and watch the recording / highlights pack... it's not like we've Fellaini and Cahill and Saha playing.. I cannot see any of our players being able to score a goal unless it's a tap in for Yak from another Gomez butterfingers moment or a 30yd thumper from Rodwell.

Did they forget make sure he had boarded the plane back from Lisbon or something??? He's probably come out of the Men's and missed the flight!
  24. I'll admit I was wrong too.. I couldn't see the extent of the injury from the replays.. after seeing first seeing the replay showing the contact with the greek's leg my first thought was he was staying down to avoid punishment for stamping.. I wish he'd bloody jumped out of the way!
